Just had a terrible experience at Vinifera Reston. Sat at the bar to eat for more convenience and it still took over 2 hours because the bar tender forgot to give us menus twice. She messed up our order at every step. Some waiter we never saw took part of our order out to someone else and we had to wait on that portion of it. So that waiter screwed it up. Bartender suggested a dessert, we ordered it, and then they brought the wrong one and they told us it was what we ordered. A manager brought the dessert and tried to tell us it was what we ordered. A deconstructed (chocolate) black forest cake. It was on the receipt and the bartender suggested it. We got white mousse, vanilla ice cream and berries (no chocolate). Still both the bartender and manager said it was correct. Totally F-ed up from bartender, to wait staff, to kitchen, to management. It honestly would have been better if we were just ignored the whole time. Although we have had better experiences here, this was particularly not good.

Disappointing . I was in last night with my girl friend and her son . It started off great . A good menu and a great wine selection . We ordered a bottle of Caymus Cabernet and some appetizers . For some reason the waitress had the mistaken impression that we didnt want to order an entrée and I couldnt get her attention . She should have checked with us .She finally came around and presented us with a dessert menu and I told her we wanted to order a main course . She took our order and instead of immediately putting it in she waited on other customers . After some time she noticed we were out of wine and asked if I would like to look at the wine list again . I really didnt but we didnt have any food or wine and we had been sitting there waiting so I ordered some wine by the glass for us . She tried to make light of the situation but she ruined our meal . I was going to bring some Business Associates in for dinner but now we will be going someplace else where the service is better.

I just went to Vinifera with seven friends. They honored our reservation and seated us promptly. The menu is very creative, if you cant find something you like, there is a problem. We really enjoyed the one bite starter portions. Everyone enjoyed their main portion except the Paella. It appeared to be based on undercooked risotto. The service was excellent, they kept the waters full. I suppose I could pick on the fact that not all the dinners came out at the same time, but that is a trick with eight plates. We use the Sheraton across the street for business meetings and to run our SANS Northern VA event and I wish I had realized this place was here earlier; we will be back.

This is a great wine bar located inside of the Westin Hotel. They have lounge and table top seating and its a great hidden gem in Reston. My coworkers and I visit here for all the time for Happy Hour and to randomly celebrate things in the office. The small plate selection is pretty good and weve ordered pretty much everything on the small plate menu. The charcuterie board has a great variety, the crabcakes are good as well as the dips and sliders. They are all great accompaniments to the excellent winelist and drinks they serve.

Great selection of wine, food is spot on, staff outstanding. Chef is always mixing up something new and different. I always look forward to something new on the menu to try. Freshness you can taste.
I hate the Town Center, boring over priced chain restaurants, plus that smoking cattle stall at Jacksons, ugh. Those chefs only change the menu when they learn how to open a new can of sauce.
Can't wait till it warms up to sit outside by the fire pits.

Awful staff... had reservations for Valentines day dinner a month in advance. No one called to tell us it was a set menu for $95 per person.. not including wine. Web site was not updated with this information either. We got there and the restaurant was EMPTY. Ended up leaving angry that we were not called like the others who had reservations last night and ate pizza at home since every other decent restaurant in Reston was booked! We will not be going back.

Vinifera Bistro is gem waiting to be discovered. The small plates looked good and tasted even better. We were nicely, nearly full before the entrees arrived and then we were totally blown away. My Paella would have fed both of us and done so very well. The Scallops were big and succulent, the mussels were tasty and the sausage pieces were zesty. Across the table, my wifes seared Sea Bass had a subtle appearance that belied its rich flavor.

The hummus may have been the best I have ever had. My 6 year-old loved it too. The risotto was delicious, rich but light at the same time. Was delightfully surprised to have such high quality service (especially when the waitress asked if she should bring our daughters food first) and food. Definitely recommend this hotel restaurant to anyone in the area, even if youre not staying at the Westin.

Ive had a very mixed experience here. Sometimes it seemed pretty down to earth and had pretty good food. Other times pretentious and below average food and a very strange take on my cocktail. If your staying at the hotel or close by it is a good choice. I would prefer something like Tavern 64 which is nearby and in my opinion delivers on the atmosphere.

Weve now been here twice and had good experiences back times. Its a bit hard to find, tucked away behind a hotel. Theres a large wine selection (both times we went with another couple and just ordered bottles, so Im not really sure how many wines you can get by the glass) and the food is quite good.

Generally all of the plates were good and are really good for hotel food as it is a hotel restaurant. The service was very slow, in fact if it would have been more timely there would have been at least another glass of wine and dessert for our bill.

Quiet hotel bar in the Westin. Food is good, but pricey of course. No happy hour specials, ever. Very convenient if staying at the hotel, otherwise it is a little difficult to find.

Fantastic food but dont expect to eat a full meal. Its about tasting. Not feasting. Enjoy sampling the wine and food. Its hell of a lot better than the Chilis across the street.

Amazing food and amazing service. Hidden little gem in Reston in the Westin Hotel. Food is so much better than what you usually get in the towncenter.

It was OK. I noticed only two minor issues. 1 My dishes werent hot enough. 2 I dont salt my food, for that reason a few plates were a bit salty.

I miss the old Chef that was there. The food used to be real tasty and wed travel from the Town Center specifically to eat and drink there.

I have been wanting to try this place for a long time now but once I had been there, I was so disappointed. The food is horrible.
