Located inside a "shabby chic" garden shop in a beautiful historic neighborhood. With cozy and intimate seating areas... like eating in someones home. Delicious wraps, sandwiches, salads, soups and deserts all made on the premises. I love shopping and eating at independently owned businesses because the experience is always different and out of the ordinary. Our plates were full! I got the turkey sandwich on a toasted baguette with mixed greens, sharp cheddar cheese, dijonaise and a relish of cranberries and manderin oranges. Also on the plate was fresh fruit and the best potato salad Ive had. I asked the waitress what was in the potato salad. She jokingly said " if I told you I would have to kill you". Later the chef came out and told us it is a very simple recipe. Usually redskin or golden Yukon potatoes boiled with the skin still on, diced onion, salt and pepper and Dukes mayonnaise while the potatoes are still hot. This makes it taste like sour cream. Inside the shop they sell gardening supplies, beautiful home fragrances, candles, room sprays, lotions, soaps, unusual clocks and gifts. Outside is the nursery with homegrown and locally grown annuals, perennials, bedding plants, herbs, vegetable plants and small shrubs all in great health. A fun afternoon for sure

It was awesome! We were a little nervous at first because when we showed up with a party of 6, they asked if we had a reservation...we didnt, and they looked a little concerned. But no worries, they found a nice corner table with only a 15 minute wait. We had two small kids with us, and the entire staff was great...they even brought over some watermelon slices to keep the kids entertained while the food was being cooked. Prices are great, probably too low for the quality and amount of food you get. All of our meals came with some great potato salad and lots of fresh fruit. You definitely need to stop in here, you will not be disappointed! No complaints at all!

Unfortunately i did not have a chance to taste the food. A simple question of if something had milk or butter in it due to an allergy lead to a rude waitress who did not have any idea what dairy is. She got it confused with gluten and eggs. Which would have been fine if she had not been rude about the entire thing. Once I figured out a safe option, i was asked to sign a wavier. If they had seemed confident in that chicken salad didnt have dairy I would have signed. Please have an idea of what is in your food and dont be rude because someone has an allergy. I understand trying to cover yourself but the attitude with it is not neceasary.

I wanted so much to give this place 3-4 stars. BUT they had a large nasty dog inside within a couple of feet of the dining room. God blessed us to not see it until after we ate but it still gave me a pukish feel. How disgusting!! I get it that people love their dogs and I like them but in a restaurants dining room is not the place. The dog craze is so out of control. Like my pastor said (who has 4 dogs)...they are not human. They have their place which is NOT everywhere. Food was tasty with descent friendly service. Place could use some dusting but nice eclectic atmosphere (excluding the dog).

Everything is awesome here, the shop, the owners the service. Everytime i come theres several specials and the owner is almost always there to make sure you like everything. Today they potted my flowers for me for free...i only paid 3.99 for my beautiful violas :) I just love this place, and so does everyone else that i bring here. Thanks for the great food. Most food in portsmouth isnt that great to me. This place makes me happy. If you like a delicious and unique/creative place this is for you. Thanks guys ;)

First time here doing a review, ordered the Cuban Sandwich, with the blend of the musturd, pickles and various meats, proved to be an extremely exquisite dish. We were asked for a dessert, to which our waiter gave us a beautiful coconut custard pie with various fresh fruits and a solitified sugar crown. Extremely friendly staff and a excellent atmosphere, I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Nice warm greeting and very good telephone manners.Restaurant ambience was warm if not a little stifled. Service was professional, efficient and informative although it did fell slightly amateurish depending on who was serving (there was one or two servers who I felt was not up to the standard the restaurant are aspiring to). The food was very well put together,...

This is my downtown coffee spot and is very close to our apartment. The Coffee Shoppe is a very quaint spot with ample seating including outside, interesting decor, and-in addition to great coffee, cappachino, and frappes-also has a surprisingly good member including delicious baked goods for breakfast time. Service is always great and is accompanied with a smile.

Great food. Nice creativity and variety in the mostly sandwiches and Paninis. Pretty inexpensive. But the real uniqueness is the setting. As the other reviewers have said; in a household furnishings and garden shop. You have to see it to believe it. Very nice, friendly staff. Havent had a problem getting a table but it looks like they do take reservation.

I was surprised to find that this place had such good food and so many options for meals. I was able to put together exactly the breakfast I wanted. Steak, bacon, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, tomato slices and sauteed spinach with a mimosa. Me likey!!! I didnt expect the mimosas to be on the menu.

The Still is a quaint - slightly underground tapis bar that has an extensive booze list. The food is - as you expect - small of quantity, pricey but tasty. The offerings of dozens of different single malt Scotch and Irish whiskys is heart warming. It is not a tequila bar.

The Green Bean Cafe graciously hosted the rehearsal dinner before our sons wedding. The atmosphere, waitstaff, hosts, and especially the food were outstanding. Everything and everyone was refined, elegant, and top notch.
