This is a very nice restaurant with a beautiful view, good service, and very good food. I was directed to it by a Reedville resident, although on a Tuesday night I guess it is "the only game in town," as another restaurant in Reedville is closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. It should have five stars, but the menu insists on the blue crab dishes as being composed of "jumbo lump" crabmeat, and not one piece that could be described as "jumbo lump" by any stretch of a charitable imagination composed my dinner of Crab Norfolk--and however "crazy" the Crazy Crab may be, the portion was not especially generous for the price. HOWEVER the food is delicious and fresh and well-prepared; I arrived on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 for dinner at 8 PM during an extremely and impressively busy service time, yet I was immediately seated, considerately provided water which I badly needed by the hostess, and very soon served by a delightful waitress named Shawrell, who managed to serve me very attentively during the evening despite the fact the she also had tables outside on the spacious deck. A+, Shawrell! Ordinarily I would have selected the crabcakes, as they seem to be the featured item on the menu, or a combination platter; but as I was surprised to find Crab Norfolk ($24) on the menu--and was lured by the "jumbo lump" promise--I chose to order Crab Norfolk. There was certainly nothing wrong with the preparation of the dish, or the freshness of the crabmeat. The numerous sides are relatively uninspired but certainly good. I chose a glass of Kendall-Jackson Reserve Chardonnay ($8) to accompany the meal, because I knew this particular chardonnay would be excellent with the dish. I ended my meal with a "strawberry shortcake," fresh strawberries on a puff pastry with whipped cream ($4.50), and it was very good indeed--creative, attractive and delicious. Although it was well after dark when I finished, the parking area was very well lit, and the view across the creek was still beautiful, so I took a few more photographs . . . .

Im shocked that the other reviews left out that depending upon which way the wind blows during operation, the smell from the Omega Fish Factory across the creek can be stifling. Its omission is testimony to how authentic, and good, the food and setting really is (as I am sure that no one wanted to mention it, for fear of hurting the establishment). This locally owned seafood restaurant is a gem, in an age awash with chain restaurants, and predicable fare. The menu prices posted (even the ones in season") are always a great value, and their preparation methods for whatever is chosen, could be taken right out of a ladies auxcilary cookbook - just right! Special cudos to Terrie, if you are luck enough to get her table...

The wait staff stayed on top of things, the people who work there seem genuinely nice and the view was great, but aside from that there really arent any other redeemable qualities about this place. The food was expensive and terrible. Everyone at our table got different food and we all said the same thing. Bland, over or undercooked and everything tasted like it was really low quality. The steak was unedible. I got the delmonico and threw over half of it out. I hope it was just a bad experience as this came highly recommended from co-workers, but I dont think I will try it again.

Our favorite casual place to dine in the Northern Neck of VA. The owners are always there to personally greet customers and ensure a great dining experience. The staff are friendly and efficient. The food is great. The menu is varred but the crab cakes are especially wonderful. There are also interesting specials every night. The views of the creek and the sunset make the Crazy Crab a wonderful setting for an enjoyable and relaxing evening.

We arrived by boat and sat outside. While the place appears to be a little rundown it has great food and you get to sit on the water to enjoy the view! A very nice wait staff. The girls took for ever to use the single bathroom because there was always a line. We have enjoyed this place a few times now

Tables werent well cleaned off. Food was alright. I would not recommend a pasta dish here. Multiple people at our table ordered one and were disappointed. The sauce was very acidic and it was overall mediocre. Still, service was great and the view was very nice.

The best seafood around. Everything Ive ever had here has been delicious. The staff are super friendly and we always get great service. Plus, there is a great view. The building sits partially over the river, so its pretty hard to beat the view.

This is a very good restaurant on the water. The portions are large and all the seafood we have had there is delicious. It is worth the wait to get a table outside over the water and watch the boats and amazing sunsets!

The food here is bland. We had a group of 5, all 5 of us had a different plate and all of us said the same thing. It was also miserably hot inside.
