Went here with my fiance and a friend. Theyd been here before and we decided to go again. Unfortunately we didnt get the same service they had the previous time. It was not busy at all and were told we could sit at the bar area which is fine but we didnt get menus. After a few minutes the manager saw this and brought us some. The waitress took our orders for drinks but after 20 minutes of not getting them, or even water, we finally got the manager and told her what was going on. She seemed to have a bit of an attitude and told us it had only been 10 minutes but would help speed up getting our drinks and appetizers. When the manager brought our drinks she said she assumed I had ordered a double (rum and coke). I didnt, but thought she was doing that to be nice and make up for the poor service this far. The waitress still took forever. Didnt check on us. We had finished our drinks by the time she even came to take our order for food and next round of drinks. When we finally got the drinks, they were wrong. Our food didnt come out together even though we had all just ordered unlimited apps so one of us was just waiting awkwardly while the others had food. Two of the orders were cold. Again it wasnt busy at all. I was starting to figure out why.. The manager didnt come back to check on us either. At this point we just wanted to leave but it took another 20 minutes to get our checks. When we got it I saw that I was actually charged for the double, and that the manager wasnt just being nice. I decided not to say anything because that would mean having to stay there even longer and deal with more attitude. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Obviously I would not recommend coming here.

So I just left this place and was confused on why the service was soo bad!... My son ordered a sizzling chicken and shrimp platter thing and he found a giant hair in it to which my son who is a very soft spoken kid didnt want to complain about it fearing they would mess with his food told me and his best friend about the situation. So, naturally we spoke on his behalf... Then we waited for supposedely the wait staff to switch his order so they took his entire plate away and he was left watching us to eat til we finished since it took twice the time the original order came out to get his food. In the time we waited we were done with our meals. In that waiting time mind you we were never asked for anything or checked on while our waitress went on her merry way to check on other tables. Now usually when something like that happens an apology is offered or a manager will come and talk to you or something..you would think so anyway?!...yea that never happened?!...then once he gets his food he has it for 5 minutes and the waitress asks if he wants a box so we can leave I guess???....I was like he just got his food...wth?! So anyway, no discount, no talk, no apology, nothing..mind you Im a disabled veteran who really loves this franchise and has fond memories of hitting ports and making TGIFridays one of my first places to go to eat and have fun at with my military buddies!!!..All in all Im very disappointed Newport News is all I have to say!.. Very disappointed with the venue in the city i reside in!

Went to this restaurant tonight, I was really looking forward to a good meal. My bad experience started as soon as we walked in. We were never given the option of sitting at the bar, just put on a list. That was clearly being poorly managed. People were complaining of how long they were waiting. After waiting ten minutes we asked could we sit at the bar. We sat down, at that point everything seemed fine. After ordering our meal my husband received his meal. I was asked did I order anything? I said yes and told them what I ordered. The waiter came back and apologized after he gave his excuse. I was given salsa and chips to hold me over. After my husband finished his meal I was beyond upset. My meal finally came and it was wrong. To say by this point I was really ready to leave was an understatement. After waiting another what felt like twenty minutes, my meal finally came. I no longer wanted it. I asked for boxes. I havent been to TGI Fridays in a long while. I will never go back. This was unacceptable. If I could give a zero, I certainly would.

The fact that i waited nearly an hour for endless Jack Daniels wings, then found the manager (because the waitress never returned) for her to tell me the issue was resolved, the tab had never been closed so i wouldnt see it on my card. This was a 11.32 transaction that i added a $2 tip too. I opened my mobile app to show that in fact my card was already charged. The manager told me the charge would be reversed in 24 hours. Being the patient person I am I waited because the incident was a thursday and we all know the weekend cam cause delays. So on this lovely Wednesday evening I check my account and there is a whopping total of 36.30, where did this number come from? I call to talk to a manager and of course they are too busy and will get back to me. AWESOME Fridays! Patrons check your credit card statements & use strictly cash from here on out because they clearly have dishonest & busy people working here. Signed, STILL UNRESOLVED WITH NO CALL. guess ill be gathering the info for the store & general manager next.

Went in with coworkers because someone was moving away. Our waiters name was John. He is possibly the WORST waiter Ive ever had.The place was a bit busy but not too bad. My salad came in a decent amount of time. Our waiter stayed MIA for most of the 2 hours I was there. A busboy brought us refills, my salad, and extra dressing. Waiter still no where in sight.30 minutes later I still didnt have my food. I nicely asked him if they had made it yet. He said yes, which had to be a lie and I told him Id take it to go please. He still brought it on a plate. My husband had already finished his food and it was time to go. Had to wait an extra 15 minutes to get our check. Other people at my table had real problems with their orders and even more problems with our waiter. Its the 1st and last time i will ever go there.

This is my first ever review of a restaurant. I asked myself if it was even worth it to review a chain but then I realized, while my family dined at TGIF, we didnt feel like we were in a chain. We were greeted kindly by 2 hostesses and seated in an area that would accommodate my disabilities. The staff was very helpful and the food was delicious. We had our 2 year old son with us and he is usually a nightmare at restaurants but the friendly staff kept him entertained and made him quite happy. We have been back to the same place 3 times since and the service has been up to my expectations. I didnt think it would be possible to duplicate that pleasant customer service we experienced the time before and then the time before that. We will continue to give you guys business and thank you for taking care of us!
