Ive always loved Romas. I Love. The Owners and then Staff! They are Polite and give good Service!. And the food is really good! I recommend their Cheese Steak with Lettuce Tomato and fried Steak onions, I also like it with cooked mushrooms and banana peppers & jalapeno hot peppers. That,s how I always order mine. I also recommend the Veal Parmesan with side of Spaghetti that comes with it. This is really good, but kind of expensive. Ive been a loyal customer since the 1970s. when they used to be on nine mile Rd down from the food lion shopping center off of Newbridge Rd. Richmond, VA. When they moved to Mechanicsville I followed them over there for their business, and I live in Caroline County, VA.near kings dominion. Thats how far I travel to go to eat where they are!! I like them a lot! They also have good Pepperoni Pizza! Theyre over on Bell Creek Rd. Past BJs on the left. Go over there and Enjoy yourself! Sincerely, Rita

The restaurant is clean and the wait staff is competent. I have been during busy hours and the orders still come out within reasonable time. The food caters to the "American-ized" palate in my humble opinion and tastes good if that is what you are looking for. My personal favorite is the penne a la vodka. I also like the fact that they offer big family sized pans of pasta dishes along with other selections which are moderately priced and they are more than sufficient for serving size. A pan of penne a la vodka has lasted my family of 4 for two days. I tend to see large groups of youth sports teams frequently so you should probably plan ahead if you expect faster service. All in all, I would recommend this restaurant. 4 stars because I prefer more authenticity from a claimed Italian restaurant.

So the restaurant was completely empty when we got in with four servers chatting behind the register. We got seated quickly, we ordered. The waitress didnt really check in with us even though we were the only table in the whole restaurant. The lasagna was beyond salty. When we finally flagged the waitress down and told her, she didnt offer any apology. Just asked if there was anything else we wanted instead. I got the pork loin which was salty, tough and seasoned to the point of tears. This place used to be great, with tons of people and the food was good too. I dont know what changed but I wont be going back.

Good was good. Waitress was nice but forgot the bread, we had to ask for it after our dinner came out. Forgot to refill glass of tea after she ask if I needed one. I k,ow she was busy. Cant say it was a bad experience, guess she just forgot. We come to Tomas alot and never had a bad experience. I am not one to ever complain, thought this might help.

Food and wine were good. My only negative is I was expecting the seafood cannelloni to be a little more chunky than a blended mush. It still tasted good, but the texture was weird so Ill keep the 5 starts. The Tortellini Angelo was also really good. Happy they had anchovies for my salad. Cant wait to go back to try the calamari.

Reservation for our party was made weeks in advance. No preparations were made and banquet room was double booked. We had to sit at separate tables in their noisy main room (that smelled like propane). Food here is awful except for the salad. Entrees and appetizers alike were salty as can be. Will not return.

Great Italian fare with some fusion thrown in on some dishes. The salmon with pineapple teriyaki sauce was great! The Gianluca was phenomenal. The sauce was a little heavy, but went well with the dish. Staff was friendly and made us feel at home, but a little slower than I am used too. #ScottMcNuttReviewsRVA

Just had the "calamari" and my stomach is bubbling now. I dont know what that was, but it definitely wasnt calamari. Definitely had to have been frozen. I dont know if there is such a thing as imitation calamari but if it is, that had to have been it. Weve had their pizza in the past and its ok, not amazing.

Romas is a wonderful family-owned Italian restaurant with great food (their pasta and pizza are my favorites). The owners always take time to walk around and talk to their customers, which we love. My favorite Italian restaurant, from Mechanicsville to Sandston to Tappahannock!

Fantastic customer service, our waiter was on top of his game!!! The food was excellent and beautiful! The prices could be cheaper. This place tends to be about 12-18% higher in price compared to surrounding competitors.
