Took my family here on a stormy summer evening. We were having a nice time till it began to rain. Why is that important you ask? Well, as we sipped our wine, the roof directly above our table began to leak water all over us, and our dinner! No one noticed untill i called our waiter over, who proptly apologized, then.... HANDED ME THE CHECK! "Please, bring the manager.", I say. Manager comes over and tells me a long story about their problems with hiring contractors to fix the leaky roof, then asks me if i want a free dessert (while water drips from my hair onto my face). "No sir, that will not do", (now we are standing while the entire place is looking at us). Anyhow, the guy comes back with a check minus $13 bucks on a $60 bill.... i was not happy! This genius knew where the roof was leaking, but allows people to sit there anyway! I wonder if it leaks in the kitchen? This place is unsanitary, and poorly ran. I AM CALLING THE BOARD OF HEALTH TOMORROW!

The food was okay, not bad. I asked for a wine and they didnt even know the grape. The main reason for this 2 stars is because we had bad experience as soon as we got there. The manager was sitting and eating like a customer in the first table of the restaurante. He even greeted us. I didnt understand anything until later when he was walking around and came to our table. He didnt introduce himself as a manager, he just made random comments about my food. The other thing that really bothered me, was the kitchen staff were using the back door right near my table to take pot in and out of the restaurant. The ambiance was ruined by the continual opening of the door and the staffs talking close to us. The restaurant wasnt very clean either.

Dont get me wrong the food is good and I have been to that location before as it is close to my job. I ordered some pizza today and watch who I believe to be the manager touch several pizzas with his bare hands pick up pens, pads, open the oven and even clean his nose out with a tissue and not wash his hands. As he was sliding my pizza into the takeout box he used his hand to slide the pizza into the box. I was thoroughly disgusted but did not say anything at the time. I got to work and could not eat the pizza after seeing what I saw. It is most definitely the last time I will go there especially since I beleive him to be the manager. I could only imagine what the staff does.

Great place if you know what to look for. Consistently best pizza in town, much better than in many overrated and fashionable Washington, DC area places. My favorite dish is Gamberetti alla Montese (fresh shrimp and crab meat in a pink sauce over penne pasta): the secret is in the sauce which is incredible. Cannot resist ordering it every time I happen to be there (which means probably several dozen times over about ten years.) They have several other locations but this one (I believe it was the original one) remains far outstanding compared to others despite being probably the smallest and most outdated in terms of design etc.

This place was amazing!! My husband and I came from out of town and we wanted a local pizza place. We went to a couple places before this one and we walked out. When we first walked in it felt warm and friendly. Everyone really seemed like they were family. The pizza was fantastic and fresh. They serve u garlic bread at beginning too that was wonderful. Our server was Angela and she was 5 stars as well. My drinks never got half empty and we were checked on several times. Ive waitressed for a long time and I expect great service and not very often am I impressed but Angela and Mamma Lucias was perfect!

My teen daughter and I ate there this week while traveling and staying at the Hilton, a short walk away. The pizza was delicious and filling. The side salad, which is wild greens based, was fresh and the balsamic vinaigrette dressing was very good. We were provided an Italian bread toast with olive oil and fresh garlic while we waited for our food. What impressed me most was the attentive service, our waiter Jason was friendly and never made us wait for anything.

This place is always great. The servers are always attentive. The food is so delicious. Their plates are served big. One plate can feed 2. It always hits the spot. I love their location in rockville. I tried their other location in Gaithersburg and the service wasnt to good but their rockville people are always super nice.

I didnt realize this was a franchise because it had a very homey feel to it. The pasta serving was huge. I had spaghetti carbonara and my daughter had fettucine bolognese and they were both fabulous. Waitstaff was very polite and service was quick.

An excellent location with very good food. We enjoy the cooking at this location a little better than Mamas other locations. The downside is that it is a little harder to park here, and there arent as many tables.

The food was very good. Bread that came before the main course, fried risotto, and pasta dishes were good. Prices reasonable. Ambiance was lacking. Got squished on a table between two larger crowds.
