This restaurant has two assets... Good food and excellent hosts. I work in the Reston area in the IT industry. I bring some of my American and Indian friends... They all love it. The owner is the master chef. From my interactions with the owner, she used to work in one of the best hotel restaurants in Ethiopia. Considering that expertise, I thought we were gonna shell out a hefty amount for the food. I was surprised to see a very reasonable check for such a delicious meal. Ever since, I was hooked. For the average price of $12, you get a three or four star restaurant menu which had about 20 lists. Try the spicy lamb stew or tibs. I also recommend the doro wat and the vegan beyaynetu. A variety of vegan stews and such with five or seven varieties. Finally, just for the heck of it, ask for the Ethiopian salad as a side. Youll love it!

Went with a friend for dinner on a Friday night. It took a little while for us to get noticed (~ 3 mins), which was understandable since the staff members were very busy tending to a packed restaurant. Nonetheless, the staff members were very very friendly; smiling, laughing and joking as they took our orders and served us, which made our experience just that much better. My friend and I shared the vegetable combo with 10 items, which was absolutely delicious. They also had this one spice (upon request), Berbere, that I dont always find at Ethiopian restaurants, which added a really good kick to the meal. We were stuffed by the end of the meal but we still had enough food left for a whole second meal and I think with appetizers and tip we paid around $30 total for the two of us.

We just returned from a fabulous meal at Enatye. We ordered the veggie combo with 10 selections. The presentation was perfect, with colorful choices that were deliciously spiced. Trying to decide which selection to try next was not easy. The Ethiopian beer was an excellent pairing with the meal. We succumbed to temptation and had their baklava for dessert. Baklava can sometimes be made too sugary even for my sweet tooth, but theirs was just right. The Ethiopian coffee was also a great match with the baklava. Im not sure Ive ever had better. All the offerings on the menu were reasonably priced. Service was prompt and courteous and the staff welcoming and friendly. Enatye is definitely a place well be returning to often.

What a find! I love Ethiopian cuisine, lately having eaten at Meaza in Falls Church. I cant compare the two without finding the Falls Church store falling (no pun!) behind. With a good but moderately sized selection of Ethiopian menu items, all of the food (with the exception of some select spices) is made from scratch. Service is fast and the decor is simple - they clearly focus on the food. As far as cost, Enatye is moderately expensive at best - a meal for two can be $20-30. Take a date, but be warned that they focus on the customers who are eating - if you come late the door may be locked in order to prevent a mess of customers lining up inside the dining room.

I must be honest...I dont want to post this review bc I want to keep this place all to myself and not have it become overly popular. That would be selfish and an injustice to the wonderful people that run this hidden gem. Food-amazing! Service-delightful, warm, and sincere! Coffee-amazing! I want to go there for coffee everyday now. My family and I went here for lunch today, and we felt like we were invited into a warm, Ethiopian household for a family meal. Then, we found out that the name of the place translates to "moms home/home cooked" something of that nature. They have hit the nail on the head. Definitely will be coming back!

The food is not fresh and mostly re-heated. The food if very mediocre tasting compared to other Ethiopian places around the area. The service is very slow and the owner yells at the waiters. It is not suitable for kids. Dont make a mistake of taking your kids here. And the most important, dont go here if you are new to Ethiopian food. They treat you badly and dont take the time to explain. We have been to Ethiopian places a lot and saw a new customer being treated very badly. I would not go back here. There are a lot of better Ethiopian places close by.

Not sure what the negative comments are about or maybe they meant to comment on another restaurant because this place is LEGIT! The food tastes like youre eating it in Ethiopia, the owner is friendly and the team is very welcoming. Just be warned: 1. one taste and youll be coming back for more. 2. You enter as a stranger and you leave as family. If youre not sure what to order, ask the owner. Hell recommend different dishes every time you go and THEY ARE ALL GREAT! Enjoy. Best Regards, Foodie

I am never in the mood for Ethiopian food, but we went here on Thursday and it turns out it was EXACTLY what I was craving. They offer a diverse menu of meats and vegetarian options. They carry many beers and wines, but also offer a great selection of Ethiopian beverages. The atmosphere was great (especially for a date night ) and the food superb! Highly recommend this and I would consider this the BEST Ethiopian restaurant in the Herndon area.

Delicious Ethiopian cuisine in a newly refurbished space. Owner came and spoke with us, giving us a little perspective on Ethiopia and asking about us as people, not just customers. This place deserves support and your money wont be misspent on the fairly priced and wonderfully fresh, "home cooked" dishes. Recommend for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. And the first time Ive ever tried Ethiopian beer!

New ownership (7 months ago) hasnt changed this restaurant very much. Menu is still comprehensive and the food is wonderfully prepared. Friendly owner and great service are a welcomed bonus. Special note: They make the best cup of coffee here. No exaggeration, one of the best cups I have ever had. Made from imported Harrar beans from owners home area. Amazing brew.

Dont know if the food is any good or not. Ive been sitting with my boyfriend waiting for food, and a tea, for about an hour now. Weve only seen our waitress twice in that time. Two tables that came in after us got served before us. Its also incredibly loud and impossible to carry on a conversation here. Not coming back.

Love this place. My son and I have been there a couple of time and we love it. I have order the vegetarian combo 1 and 2 and really liked them. My son ordered lamb ( Dont remember the name of the dish). He loved it too. The lamb was a bit chewy but it tasted good . Also love the tea. Nice friendly staff

This was my first foray into Ethiopian food and it was wonderful. Our party was five people in total and every one of them loved the experience. The food was fantastic and Iskandar was great, anybody who can handle my energetic father as well as he did is worthy of praise. Highly recommended.

Visited on a Friday at 2pm. Service was prompt, they have a full bar, and the food & presentation were great. Friendly & warm, you are enjoying a nice family experience here! We were even told about a beautiful & traditional coffee ceremony! Cannot wait to come back for the coffee ceremony!
