I really like this place. The only reason for four stars is that some of the patrons arent the most desirable. As a young female, I dont like being ogled while I am eating, and I have gone with other females who have expressed similar problems. Sometimes the service isnt the best either, as in drinks that sit empty for far too long and empty plates left on your table to the point of overcrowding. However, overall, the food is worth it. You get a great selection, the food is always fresh, plentiful and delicious. I am rating this place for what it is--a Chinese buffet. We all know that the food sits there for a little while until new stuff comes out, the sushi probably isnt going to be the best, and to stay away from any salmon, crab legs, or fish. If you do that, you will be fine. Any shrimp meal is fine, anything with chicken is great. The flavors are great, and there is no MSG, because if there was, I would get a horrible migraine every time I eat there, and I dont. Its a great place to take your time to eat, as they are not pushy to get you out of the door. I highly recommend.

Ok, so Im a connaiseur of the chinese cuisine. Daym if I dont love me some dumplings, some beef chow fun, and fried (_insert seafood of choice here_). What I dont understand is the mysterious ninja attack that chinese food has on my body. First it attacks from behind. And when I say from behind, I mean it. I mean daym, I just ate and I already have to take the Browns to the Superbowl? dang. Then it attacks the central nerve system by putting you in a virtual coma. MSG my a--! This is some high powered opium/reefer concoction that Royal Buffet got going on. Writing this Ive closed my eyes 4 times. That is some gooooood stuff. The food is good, slightly salty, but variety and quite tasty selection is the foundation of a decent Buffet. The ninja attack, not so much.

20 minutes before closing we were told to leave (We arrived at 8:30 and they close at 10). We had 2 people approach us and who constantly reiterated to leave because theyre going to close. Every restaurant that Ive ever been to always closes at whatever time they have scheduled (ex: 10 P.M) THEN they clean after customers have left, but Ive never been anywhere thats rushed the customers to leave with such a gap of time still left on the clock. None of the other customers were rushed to leave and it was very disappointing when we were the only ones. The food is low quality, the waiters are unprofessional, and we were rushed from the second we stepped in the restaurant I wouldnt recommend eating here.

i had a friend who i hadnt seen since moving from MD call me and let me know that she was attending a training in Herndon and wanted to meet up with me while down here (i live in reston)....i spent most of my work day googling something interesting for us to do....the $5 Worldgate Movies was OUT because nothing good/adult was playing. i figured wed do a buffet so we could chat & chew a couple of hours away. After reading the reviews, i decided on ROYAL BUFFET. i was VERY pleased; we arrived at 6:30pm and the only thing i could complain about after our visit is the nasty fingerprints that greet you at the front glass door. [ the food was just fine & the selection was AWESOME ] [[ GO ]]

Lets be honest, royal is a term meant for nobility, not over salted "chicken". Dont get me wrong though, my fat A** is in here atleast twice a month, but cmon, Royal? Hows aboot we change the name to something like the Feng Shui Buffet? All in all the Pessi is always cold and refilled in a diligent manner, and the food is marginal enough. For $10 I would rather eat here than at House of Wing (obviously). I dont trust the sushi in a dark room with my sister, and I am not about to partake in the dessert line, but go ahead and roll the dice your bound to find something.

I was in town for business and looking for a place for a Chinese Buffet, and found this place. It was an average clean, well lit, basic ambiance buffet, except the food, which was well above average, being tasty, fresh, and good variety. The staff was friendly, and right on top of things, without being pushy. One of the better buffets I have tried in awhile.

For those of you wondering if you should go here and have mixed emotions about if its actually going to be spicy or not the food is labeled if its going to be spicy then the people complaining about it dont take the time to read what the eat. The food is good and they have a good selection of different foods, they also have an ice cream machine.

The worst food ever. My unborn baby could cook better than this. Looks like im eating rocks for the rest of my days. The manager is rude as heck. And the flan is chuncky and tastes like egg subsititute.Lastly, their pineapples taste like alka- selzer. So basically, I payed for water and food made of cardboard.

Gave this place a second chance after finding four separate hairs in separate food items during one single visit. (Big mistake) Im sat here bedridden after my second visit, running to the bathroom every 10 minutes to puke my guts out and nearly lose consciousness from oxygen loss. Will never, ever return.

Was good my family and I went there really frequently but now they have too much spicy food than before; and it limits our visits, maybe once a month and only to go. Too much spicy and no variety dishes for my grandchilds and my elder people. Maybe one day they prepare something different and no spicy.

The renowned restaurant critic, Sharoof Sabrinowski, recently rated Royal Buffet as # 1 in the western Fairfax / eastern Loudoun region. Mr. Sabrinowskis top-10: ROYAL BUFFET KABOB BAR HARVEST OF INDIA CHINESE STERLING BUFFET ANGEETHI HUNAN HERNDON BREAD AND KABOB SAHARA? OLIVES?

Had dinner with another couple at 5:30 PM on December 21st. Food was good and warm/hot across the board. The seafood was particularly desirable. Service staff pretty good. Interestingly, no classic Chinese mustard available. My wife and I will go back when were in the area.

Its not a "top of the line" Chinese buffet, they do make an effort in serving decent variety of food at a very reasonable price. Very casual dining with the food consistantly refilled and area kept clean. Just the bathrooms could use a little more attention.

Pretty standard Chinese/Asian/Other buffet. I have eaten in and gotten take-out multiple times and have been satisfied each time. Some things can be a little oily, but that is the nature of the food. The hot wings and chicken on a stick are pretty good.

I never recommend this restaurant for anyone. Most of the time, their food is not hot nor testy. If you dont care for your health, may be recommended place. I dont even wish my enemy to use this restaurant. Worst food ever I tested in the restaurant.
