Very rude staff... Called to place an order at 3:54pm on a Saturday and asked to place an order for pick-up. The woman asked me to hold and instead of actually placing me on hold yelled to "the cook" that I wanted to place an order for pick up. "The cook" said it was fine. The woman told me that she would make an exception this time and let me place the order even though it is a Saturday after 4pm but in the future not to count on it. I told her it was 5 minutes til 4pm and she said "hold on". She then yelled back to the cook "she says its before 4...what do you wanna do?" When she asked for my order I told her I wasnt interested anymore and she was very rude. Ive lived in Gordonsville for 30 years and have since been dining in and picking up orders from Innwood. Every other experience has been great and the food is delicious. I only posted this because I was so shocked at such a rude interaction with a place that I had enjoyed so much. I hope this was someone having a rough day and not how customers will be handled in the future.

This place is unique in the way that there arent many places like it anymore. This is a place you would see on an old movie or something. All of the customers knew each other and the staff. What a great little small town eatery. This place serves authentic country cookin. My girlfriend and I had breakfast here and it is your grand idea of American breakfast. I had the corn beef hash and she had blueberry pancakes. Once again I loved hers more than mine. Extremely generous portions. Mine was a bit salty but luscious, the fried potatoes that came with it were cooked perfectly along with the eggs. I alove got a side country ham biscuit with a sausage gravy that was asking for some fresh herbs. The biscuit was fluffy and buttery. We also got chocolate milk that and it was great with the meal. I would highly suggest getting the blueberry pancakes. They were loaded with blueberries and were a perfect texture, and cooked just right. Come here if you are looking for an amazing country breakfast.

By far the worst experience Ive had at a restaurant in years. First, the place is dirty inside, from the carpet thats never been replaced to the visible undetermined jelly-like stuff smudged on the seats and walls. Being that Im from out of town and thinking this would be survivable, I stayed. To keep this review as short as possible, we waited 48 minutes from the time seated until the breakfast hit the table. The waitress failed to refill any beverages (coffee/tea) and we were never given any napkins or silverware. I cannot review the food any further past a visual review, as I did not eat any of it. Folks, stay away from this place. Its disgusting.

The entrees were one step above Hungry Man quality and the prices for such fare were outrageous. $13 for a bacon cheeseburger that tastes like it came out of the microwave? True you get a salad bar and the salad bar is good, but that is probably because all the things on it arent made in house but come prepackaged. I dont mean just condiments and lettuce, while we were there I actually saw them scoop out the macaroni salad from a prepackaged carton of macaroni salad. If you go with someone else, just get the soup and salad bar. You will thank me when your friends complain about how awful their meals are.

I ordered a cheese omelet that was not completely cooked the cheese was not even melted. I ordered dry toast with butter on the side and received margarine toast and when asked I was told that they did not serve butter on the side, why wasnt i told that in the first place? I was then asked if I wanted dry toast reordered anyway, I said no, the Cook tried to fix the toast anyway and I told her I did not want it, she gave a smart comment. The sausage had no taste and the potatoes were bland. I basically did not finish my meal and paid over 9 dollars and left. Will never go back.

The waitress was nice BUT I ordered my burger medium! I got a flat, small and dry patty. I immediately mentioned it to the waitress, she apologized and said it would take a while for me to get "the right order" because there were a couple ahead of me. I told her whatever, I just deal with what I have. Didnt even eat half of what they served because it was terrible. She charged us full price. Never going back and never referring anybody to this place.

Very good... pleasantly surprised... loved the community atmosphere. Everyone knows everyone and has a good word for each other. Portions large, salad bar fresh, soup homemade... what more could a weekend explorer ask for... Ask for Kimi, your cup will never go dry even though she is running up and down the lane. What ever you do...Dont share the salad bar...lol!

Food was okay. Smallish place. We had a group of 6 and called ahead for a large table. Another large group came in just ahead of us and sniped our table. Staff seated them without asking for a name - just assumed they were us. Ended up waiting about an hour for another table. Staff was apologetic but that didnt solve the problem.

Ok. To be honest I expected better from. A small town home cooking type place. Salad bar was small but adequate and soup was good. The main entres were not good though and very very greasy, almost like fast food, and pretty tasteless. The price was also pretty steep with each meal $12-16. Id give it a pass.

As close to grandmas cooking as you can get...small local dinner ...be patient with servers because food is definitly fresh!! And with their positive family friendly atmosphere you forget about everything! Price for portion was beyond reasonable....cant wait to go back!!

Little country fried food. Very reasonable prices. Shrimp and steak are pretty good. Friendly staff, but pretty slow at the end of our meal. Saw a couple beside us leave as long as it took. If you have extra time, check it out. Please advise.

Friendly staff but food was sub par. Had the pork chops. There were thin but tasty. Baked potato was bland. My husband had fried scallops and they were hard to find in all the batter. More like fritters.worst 40 dollars I ever spent!

Stopped here for lunch. Portions are very large, but it was nice - the food was not over-salted. Service was friendly. Food was standard home style cooking - exactly what we were looking for but nothing terribly innovative.

For 19.50 I got a a sirloin that was at least 16 ounces, a whole plate of fries, a soup, a salad bar trip, a sweet tea, and a slice of pie. An amazing amount of food for a fair price. The quality of the food was good too.

the flippin pancakes are almost to die for. i wouldnt die though, for fear that there is no taste in afterlife. I draw the line there. Dont expect an in-and-out appearance. youre in the country, so treat it as such.

Has on the web it closes at 9:00 pm. Arrived at 8:18 pm on a Friday night and was turned away for service. We were told they were closed and they forgot to lock the doors.
