As I thought this place was great before my most recent visit was terrible. I actually placed an online order which came up to about $60. My food was horrible this time around the lemon and orange chicken was mushy and pieces of the rice were hard, like it was from yesterday, guess thats what you get when you order lunch specials. However my wife ordered the wrong roll and when she called them to see if they would fix it they told her NO. The lady on the phone argued with my wife that they would lose out on cost if they exchanged her $6 dish. She also told my wife she didnt know if she was just trying to get free food so she wont do it. My wife asked to speak with the manager and she said she was the manager. My wife told her as a manager you should be willing to fix the $6 mistake. However this is not what was done. She then told my wife we arent fixing anything because its not our fault you ordered the wrong thing. So my wife then asked her hypothetically "what if someone came in to dine and didnt like the food that was brought to them, Are you going to make them pay for it" She replied " that doesnt happen and if it did yes we would". My wife then said to her "so your going to make a customer reach down into their purse/wallet and pay for some food that they do not care for, please tell me how?" She had no reply for that but then stated if she exchanged it she would have to explain to her manager. But wait you are the manager!!! So I ask for her managers name and there was nothing but, "uumm, uhhh her name is uummm" Needless to say I will never go back. Be sure you do not pay unless you are completely satisfied or getting your money back will never happen. If I could rate -50 stars I would

Well, that was not the experience I was expecting. As I approached my table, my server Jenny was asking about a tea refill for the table adjacent to me, but wasnt being very patient about although there were only four tables to three servers in the restaurant. It is lunch time: 1:30. I settle in, Jenny seems to be another jaded server going through the motions. Having not had sushi in a little while I was ready for the 4.5 star experience that was on the reviews. Got the three roll lunch special, an order of Saba (mackerel) and two sakes. The iceberg lettuce salad was on par with other standard sushi restaurants. Jenny had seemingly disappeared a few times so I ordered a second sake from Ian and heard him relay the message. After a while I looked back with her talking to another server about how tired they were when she saw me and rushed to get the sake (from the microwave, Im certain) with no apology. The rolls seemed about tasteless and one fell apart on me. Im walking out still hungry after $30 ($35 with tip) but I couldnt stay...I just couldnt be there any more. Maybe there are other places around. Ill try those, but after having great sushi in San Francisco, San Diego, even Annapolis, I wont be returning here.

Brooke Schiller - the so called store manager is the reason we will never return to Miso. A place we picked time and time again. What a poor choice on the owners behalf. She has the worst customer service skills of anyone I have ever dealt with. She was rude, condescending and tried to make us feel like idiots when I explained my pregnant wife couldnt eat what they had sent us. Rather than making it right she got into a contest over which Caucasian knew more about sushi. She thinks that she is the store owner because clearly they have given a very young immature girl power she should not have. Read the other negative reviews, they are mostly about this person. We will never go to miso again, a place we have been to over one-hundred times. Brooke has done a great job at filtering business to Umi. Thanks to Brooke and the unavailable store owners. Be aware Google review readers, this round faced blonde does not have your best interest at heart and I wouldnt buy another piece of fish from someone that would lie to me or my family. Thanks

I only began frequenting Miso about a year ago but I have been a fan ever since my very first visit! Overall, prices are pretty on-point with what one would expect to pay for quality sushi in Fredericksburg but, if you come in at lunchtime (between 11am-3pm Monday-Friday) you can definitely walk away with a fully belly without feeling like you left your wallet at the table... You can choose either a Bento Box (main + salad, rice, and 1/2 Cali Roll OR Shumai) or 2 rolls (with soup OR salad) for $8.50, 3 rolls (with soup OR salad) for $12, or a Lunch Roll Special for $11 (one full specialty roll + half basic roll)!! Their Chicken Shumai is more than twice as big as what youd find elsewhere and full of flavour, the Dumpling Soup is something dreams are made of, and the Avocado Salad comes with a Sesame Dressing unlike anything Ive ever tasted- and thats a good thing! All-in-all, Miso is a home run and somewhere I always suggest when its date night or girls night out.

No Im not an employee, family member or friend, just a big fan of this place. By far the best restaurant around. The service is superb, they keep one eye open to ensure your enjoying your creation. The food is ambrosia, both presented beautifully and the taste is out of this world. They are masters of the sauce with the freshest ingredients. The prices are very affordable, below the amount you would expect to pay. The ambiance is excellent, creative, modern, quiet and slightly romantic. Ive eaten here for dinner and lunch and the place is never crowded, not sure why, maybe they have not been discovered yet, I dread it when they are because I will have to stand in line and would to eat here. Sorry cant find any negatives, just love the place.

Started out OK with a table held for reservation. Three people, one ordered sweet tea one ordered non-sweet tea. Drinks came... teas switched by server... first screw up. No big deal... just... put a packet of sugar into sweet tea not realizing the error... not worth making a fuss about... first bad. Appetizer very good, a good combo of pork, calamari, this and that. Good sauces. Entree order... 25-minute wait... parties long after us served first... second bad. Entree order, "stir-fry garlic seafood"... under-cooked seafood with 50% green squash (not mentioned on menu), lukewarm "soup"... not a stir-fry at all. Other entrees seemed OK. Gripes: long delay for serving; inaccurate menu description, poor cooking.

After the dining experience last night, I wanted to highly recommend this restaurant to new and old sushi fans. This was our first "sushi experience" so we were honest with our waiter"Shane." He was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable on helping us place our sushi order for the first time. After our sushi arrived to the table, he even got us set up with beginner chopsticks so that we could get a feel on how to pick up the sushi roll properly. Looking around in the restaurant, we realize that there are many sushi fans enjoying their food as well. If you are in the mood to try something new like sushi or if youre a sushi master, I would highly recommend this pleasant, friendly restaurant to anyone.
