The roasted veggies are wonderful, the shrimp scampi good, and they dont skimp on the shrimp! Ive been there several times, and the food is average American, with a longer than average wait time and delicious desserts. Tonight the service was polite and attentive, but the waiter messed up my friends order, despite repeating it back to us. He brought my red wine in a stem-less glass, which would have been fine, except that the wine was about 85 degrees! I know my fluid temperatures pretty well since Ive been making bread for 35 years. This wine was warmer than my mouth temperature! I sent it back and it was removed from our check. The manager kindly gave us 10% off on our bill, plus coupons for our next visit, but he insisted that the wine was correct "room temperature." Im sure it WAS room temperature next to the ovens! A quick internet search could tell him that room temp. for reds is about 60-65, but he didnt seem interested. I might have let it pass, but it was overpriced to boot. Thats what I get for ordering wine at a diner!

Very friendly waitress, attentive and happy. In the future I would recommend you ask for Indias station when getting seated. Drink refills were timely. Food was served hot and portions were adequate. 2 of us had the "Bison Huevos Rancheros" and it was flavorful. Another had the "Turkey Platter" and it was delicious. The kids each had "Chicken Quesadillas with Rice". Now the reason for only 3 stars... Last time in, (about 7 weeks ago), we were invited to return with the "Triplets" on a Tuesday for "Kids Eat Free Day". We all came in expecting the "Kids Eat Free". Nope! When we were given the check, we were informed they do not do the "Kids Eat Free" thing, even though when walking in, we saw an employee wearing a "Kids Tuesday" shirt.

As usual we ordered the crispy fried brussel sprouts for an appetizer. When they came to the table they were uneditable. I could not bite into them or cut them with a knife. I sent them back. The manager came by with a new dish but I could not stick my fork in them. Tried to get several on the fork. I ended up picking one up with my fingers but could not bite into it. The manager said he cooked them longer. That was evident as there were some that were almost burnt. I think they needed to blanched longer. The manager saw that I could not get them on the fork or bite into them so he apologized and took them away. The rest of the meal was ok. The turkey was ok and the cod fish was a little under cooked for my liking.

Ive been here a few times and I actually like it. The servers always seem friendly and accomdating. On multiple occasions when i went for breakfast, the waffles always seem cold to me ... Additionally, went there last night, literally have only eaten two things yesterday, sausage egg & cheese bagel from dunkin donuts (morning) and chicken tenders w/fries and a salad (late last night) .. and Im suffering from some sort of food poisoning as i write this.. not saying its from them, because again, Ive eaten here multiple times, but it was something

Not a traditional American diner. I wasnt expecting the menu items. However, I was pleasantly surprised to have a very well prepared and beautifully presented flat iron steak with mashed potatoes and garlic soaked spinach. I opted to have the higher cal straw onions as well. The steak was cooked to my specification exactly and was topped with a Blu cheese topping that went very well with the natural flavoring of the steak. I also asked for a side of brown gravy for the mashed potatoes. I enjoyed everything.

Nice but you can not get good prepare as you like, asked for chicken grilled. No, Asked for NOT fried. NO. Can I sub fries for a side salad. After a few minutes, got well. OK. I did speak to the manager and obviously the wait staff did not know what was going on. They were all very nice but... However, I would like to know how a fish taco can have 19 grams total fat, and 50 some carbs. what the hell are you feeding the fish ? Not for weight watching. Where is the old Silver Diner at?

Diner chain with simple limited menu. Does not carry everything a normal Diner would. Can only serve what is listed on their menu (no lox, no cottage cheese, etc.) Only serves what is listed on their menu, which is not great if you seek healthy simple individual options. Otherwise, items on menu is cooked okay and decent. Space is not the cleanest (floors sticky, counters wiped and still wet). Go in knowing its trying to be an alternative to diners with their spin on it.

Had 20 minutes before taking my son to doctors appt so we stopped for a quick milkshake. Timeline: 2:30 seated at counter; 2:34 order taken; next 3 minutes spent by staff arguing over who would make the shakes; 2:42 notice they are just finishing the first shake. At that point gave up on getting and finishing the shakes in what I thought qas a reasonable 20 minutes. Just because there are not a lot of customers in a restaurant doesnt mean the staff should be standing around.

Always great new healthy options menu. Have had just about everything on it a we go at least once a month. Kids night Tuesday and kids love the tenders all breakfasts and especially the banana suffed French toast. The salads are all good the meatloaf and deconstructed pot pie are nice twists on the traditional. Bottom line great chain with thoughtful tasty, healty menu options. Or you can get the fish and chips or chicken fried steak! Your choice.

Best eggs Benedict in Fairfax. I get it every time I go with seasonal veggies. My husband always gets the bison huevos and thats pretty good too. Locally sourced made to order food. Service is always whatever as they have new staff constantly to train. Expect a small wait due to this, but decent food. A little more expensive than I would prefer.. After all I can get bubble and squeak at Arties for cheaper and its amazing.

I love the Silver Diner so I keep going here hoping for a better experience. But yesterday I decided I wont be back. The Restaurant is dirty. I got two salads (one was aftervsending back the first) with mushy greens that had gone bad. My waiter did not apologize and disappears so I had to ask a different waiter for the check. Disappointed because I like their menu and the service is fast. But not worth the price.

Been my go to spot for late night food. They serve breakfast item all day and their streak and eggs are great after my workout. For those that needs to track their caloric intake they also have great salad selections and lots of healthier options. Service has been prompt and friendly. Atmosphere is casual. Typical dinner look and feel.

I was actually impressed the first time I went here. The food was much better than other silver diners Ive been to - I definitely recommend the Texas short rib sandwich or the pot roast. The service was great and the atmosphere is what youd expect from a silver diner. Prices are moderate for the area ($10-$16 for an entree).
