Ive tried Yuan Ho a couple of times. The emphasis doesnt seem to be on quality ingredients at this place. Ive just ordered simple lunch entrees (fried rice) but the vegetables always seem bland, the meat is stringy, and the spices are not quite right. Maybe ordering dishes with thicker sauces would mask the poor quality, but I dont know if itd be worth it. The fried wontons that come with lunch also have that sour (almost rancid) flavor that comes from being cooked in old oil. Bleh.

I love Yuan Ho and eat there often. It actually reminds me of a place we ate while studying in Shanghai. That means you cant come in expecting an american chinese experience. I encourage you to order off of the Asian menu. (Ask them to translate for you.) Where else can you get egg and tomato that tastes like you got it from Shanghai? Also, I think one of the best endorsements of this restaurant is the fact that so many students from China eat there.

I dont understand how there are so many Chinese food places in such a small town. The service is good, but rude, and thus very old-school Chinese. These people mean business; give you order, get your food, and get the hell out. This was as classic when I was a first year in college, and it was part of a almost monthly routine when I was in graduate school.

Yuan Ho is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Charlottesville. The owners are friendly, and before long theyll remember your name and your favorite order. Their hand made dumplings are to DIE for! It may not look like much from the outside, but RUN to this great little take-out place near the University!

Best or one of the best local delivery places. Food is often delivered within 20 minutes or so. I prefer to order through GrubHub. The food is a bit above average quality at good prices. They adjust well to special requests such as "no water chestnuts" or "no mushrooms".

This place is amazing. They make wonderful chinese and the service is great. Prices are typical-- it is no discount fast food chinese-- but who would want that. Point is statistically smarter individuals come to Yuan Ho.

The most (and possibly only) convenient Chinese take-out place in the area. I love their General Tsos Chicken, but if you look at the back/end - I forget - of their menu, they do offer more traditional Chinese dishes!

Very good Chinese food at a very reasonable price! They have great American Chinese food and even better authentic Chinese food. I would highly recommend Yuan Ho to anyone that enjoys Chinese food.

Pretty average takeout Chinese place except for the secret menu which you can only order at the location for some reason. The menu has more authentic Chinese dishes that I prefer.
