DO NOT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY TO GET YOUR FOOD AT THIS RESTAURANT. I placed my order on orderup (delivery fee is free b/c they are cheap af as not hire the orderup driver). I waited about 20 minutes and the delivery man finally called me saying he couldnt find my apartment. THIS IS NOT MY FIRST TIME TO ORDER FOOD. The driver got mad at me while i was explaining how to get to my place (he was in the building right next to ours!!!). He started yelling at me saying "COME DOWN TO 14TH ST. I AM NOT GOING TO FIND YOUR APARTMENT. YOU COME GET YOUR OWN FOOD." WHAT?? I had an argument with him about 10 mins and hung up saying i am going to call the restaurant. Then I called and explained everything. OKAY YOU HAVE TO ASK THE CHINESE LADY TO SPEAK SLOWLY B/C SHE HAS VERY HEAVY ACCENTS. First, she asked me if i were chinese or korean after she saw my name and then said she has korean friends at church or whatever. DOES THAT EVEN MATTER? LONG STORY SHORT, I asked for a refund and she declined saying the food was already out and my reason for asking a refund is not logic. DUDE THE DELIVERY GUY WASNT EVEN WILLING TO DELIVER FOOD TO MY PLACE. AND OH YES HE HAD ANOTHER CUSTOMER TO DELIVER FOOD. THATS WHY HE WAS IN A RUSH TO NOT DELIVER MY FOOD. HELLO??! I WAITED FOR MY FOOD MORE THAN 50 MINS AT THAT POINT. she said she would send another delivery guy. MY FOOD IS COLD ALREADY AND YOU GUYS ARE LOCATED ON IVY AND I LIVE ON 14TH. I kept explaining why i dont want food anymore (b/c your service sucks as well) and she kept saying no. NO REFUND WAS PROCESSED FROM THEM. I called the orderup and explained everything and orderup was surprised how their way to treat customers. YES RIGHT? Orderup resolved the problem so I got a refund from orderup, not the restaurant b/c they escalated the case. I AM NOT GOING TO GET FOOD FROM THERE AND TOLD EVERY MY FRIEND NOT TO GO/ORDER FOOD THERE. Hope they learn how to treat their customers. I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM NEGATIVE STARS. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

The food always is hot and tastes great, and the dishes have nice, crisp vegetables. Everything has a made to order feel to it. We first ordered three years ago on Thanksgiving. Our daughter was sick with the flu so we had to cancel a planned trip to see relatives at the last moment and wanted an easy, tasty Thanksgiving meal. Everything was closed, but they answered the phone and agreed to cook us several dishes, even though they were obviously not really open. The hostess was so kind and warm, she stole our hearts. We never get Chinese anywhere else now. Its always such a pleasure to come pick up our takeout!

The first time I ordered here, the food was great and got here faster than expected. I placed an order tonight, and it took an hour a half to actually get to me. After waiting an hour I called and it just seemed that they skipped over my order due to confusion over which dorm I was in. I was also met with a rude delivery driver. After making me walk farther than necessary to meet him, he got mad at me and asked "so no tip?" Before I could answer, he sped off. After my experience, who WOULD tip? The only thing good about this place is the lunch and dinner specials. I would NOT recommend.

I ordered 2 chicken lunch meals and waited about an hour until i decided to call the restaurant and check up on my order. The lady on the phone was very confusing and did not make it clear where my food was. The food arrived 20 minutes later and the delivery man refused to drive to where I was, so I spent about 10 minutes trying to find where he is. The food itself was not good either; the chicken was very chewy and the rice did not taste good at all. Overall very disappointing.

Ive ordered from them twice. The first time they were two hours late with the food (I literally could have cooked a whole meal for four and have eaten in that time period). The second time I ordered from them, I called after an hour and a half. This time they told me they needed me to order more if I wanted delivery again. Seriously? I gave them my address at the beginning when I placed my order. I highly doubt they would have been on time if I had ordered an extra $20 worth.

Horrible delivery service. I ordered while at work and it took over 3 hours to arrive. I was gone by the time they showed up so I never even got my food. A woman called me about my order and talked too fast and loud. I couldnt understand a word she was saying and she really came off as rude. They tried calling me several times (3 hours after I placed my order), but to be honest I was too frustrated with the whole experience to answer. I will never order from here again.

Ive been going to Taiwan Garden for the past 6+ years, and I try to support them at least once a week. It is by far the best take out Chinese food restaurant in Charlottesville I have been to. The owner is very kind and courteous, the portions are generous, and the quality of the food is an excellent value. For <$10 (much lower at lunch), I dont think there is much in Charlottesville that beats it. The service is one of the main reasons I frequent there.

This place stinks. Lunch time and no rush, we sat for 45 minutes watching other customers come in, get their food, eat and go. When ours came, I had to leave, and put it in a to go box. The food was bland - I asked for spicey - tasteless, and not even what I ordered. Save your time, money, and your effort, and go anywhwere else.

Highly recommend Taiwan Garden! Always friendly service, very tasty Chinese food. Everything Ive ever ordered from here is great. The lunch special is one of the best around and very cheap. If you want great very tasty Chinese food provided by a very friendly owned local restsuraunt go to Taiwan Garden. Youll be glad you did.

I used to get take out from here and it was just mediocre. However, lately when dining in, the food is stellar for the most part and the people are very nice. Highly recommended. Great soup (all kinds!)
