Ive been here many times. The $3 burgers, unadorned, is the way to go, as the main reason to come here is for the price. I made the mistakes recently of getting the pork chop sandwich special, the red hot sliced, and other non-burger items. The red hot sliced is a cut up hot dog, and the pork chop special should come with a knife and fork for the silverskin, Dont work to find out what is not done well here. Just enjoy the amazingly low priced cheeseburger, and youll do fine. I generally feel uncomfortable when I come here, but I think its just because I dont get the typical honeys and darlins that other locals, I assume, get out of recognizance. Lots of locals here, and Im not that yet, so cognitive dissonance in personal legitimacy is a consideration. The food is often good, stick to burgers, leave off the expensive toppings.

Ive lived in Charlottesville for awhile now, and every time we passed Riverside Lunch we kept saying "weve gotta try that one day" so finally one day we just decided to stop and go. I gotta say, the location seemed a bit weird to me and the place looks like it could be a hole in the wall from outside, but do it! The indoor atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We got a terrific waitress, our food was cheap, FAST and cooked JUST right and exactly how we asked for it. Check out those pictures. Portioning of sides is great. Bravo! I will go out of my way to go back and try more of their menu. Even Fox News on the TV isnt enough to detract me from giving this place 5 stars.

Our waitress Rachel was very nice and gave great service! We did have one rude gentleman throw our food at us and burn our onion rings and make rude comments at us. They werent even busy, but they brought our food out at different times and would not let the waitress do her job. Some of our food was cold. But Shout out to Rachel for the great service and being on top of things.

I must say that Riverside Lunch is by far the best restaurant I have been too in awhile. My favorite thing to get is a double cheese burger and Im here to tell you its the best in Charlottesville. They offer a variety of foods to fries, grilled chicken, and steak subs. Leave these great people nice tips and you will always receive world class service.

We were driving through and this was a random Google choice. We couldnt have enjoyed it more. Not only was the waitress extremely friendly and attentive, but the cooks brought each item straight to the table the moment it came off the grill. Each item arrived separately but as hot and fresh as possible. Food was absolutely delicious. Go here.

Fantastic food! Service was quick, atmosphere was nice, and food tasted great. Our waitress was the Best Ive had in a long time. She got a very handsome tip. Any Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, and Airmen in the area, I Highly recommend coming here. They were enthusiastic in showing their support for the military. Made me feel welcome.

The best food I have had at a local restaurant here the service is friendly and it is a nice warm atmosphere. Me and my family have never had a complaint here and when we go here the smiles are visible on my families face so if you want good food this is the place to go. P.s the pulled pork is awesome

Super fast service, YUMMY burgers, fries, mozzarella sticks...mmmm...all of it is soo good and SUPER reasonable prices! You cant go to any fast food restaurant and get the taste, the service, the amount of food for the low price youll pay here!
