Went for dinner on 11/6/16 while passing through Winchester, VA. It was recommended by someone at the front desk of the hotel at which we were staying. Being from the northeast and very familiar with real diners, I found this place did not measure up simply based upon the variety of offerings. We arrived an hour and a half before closing time and ordered an appetizer (crab cake balls) and dinner. Appetizer was delicious, but in the midst of eating it someone started cleaning the floor 5 feet away with Pine-Sol. Totally ruined the experience. The server very kindly moved us to another table pretty far away; however, the overpowering smell of the cleaner wafted through the restaurant, making it impossible to eat there. So we had our dinners placed in to-go boxes. The server was more than accommodating, but the problem was not in her control. When the owner rang up our check at the register he apologized and said that he was going to deduct 15% because of the inconvenience. That was totally unacceptable. At the very least he should have cut the bill in half, but what he really should have done is said it was on the house. Someone in the restaurant business should know better than to start cleaning the floor with a noxious product while customers are still there. If we do pass through Winchester again, we will not be eating at this place again.

My wife and I stopped in for a bite to eat. Food was ok, tasted fine. Just a bit pricey I think, for the small sized portions that you would get at a southern restaurant. The place was nice and clean, thats a pleasure to see. The only thing we felt was sort of disgusting was our black female waitress we had smelt like a marijuana factory. Almost thought we could have been in Colorado for how pungent it was to us. Thou if you need to find your server, you may want to go outside to corral them. Because it seems that their more concerned with texting on a phone, then to serve their customer. We may be back, on our trip back through, but with hopes to have a better quality of service personnel. That would make the visit a bit more pleasing. All in all the visit was ok, for a quick travel bite if you’re in need of one.

My grandparents advised me that the restaurant changed hands a few months ago so I recently decided to see what had changed. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries, a side salad, and a cup of soup since it was a cold evening. Im pretty sure the soup was from a mix of some kind but it was still very good. The burger was a pre-shaped patty but it was cooked well and the onion, tomato and pickles that came with it were very crisp and fresh. The fries were absolutely perfect - not over cooked and very fresh. Our server was very attentive and friendly, I never ran out of tea and my food came out within 15 minutes of being seated. The food quality still seems to be about the same, the staff seems a bit friendlier than last time and the service was fantastic. Go check it out, its worth it!

Listen here. My wife and I discovered this gem on one of our semi-annual East coast journeys from South Carolina to Pennsylvania. Having a taste in both Southern and Northern cuisine, I can tell you this establishment has us stopping on every trip. The portions are HUGE, and for the price you pay its well worthwhile. You are usually greeted by one of the family that run the place, and get stared down by one of the irresistible pies in the display case. Keep doing what you do, youll have our business just as long as you are open!

Fried chicken, or should I say fried Pigeon? Nasty. Came right out of a bag. I specifically asked if it was fresh and breaded here and our server said yes. After seeing it, I told her that the next time someone asks you if it is made fresh tell them NO. Her response was sorry Im new and didnt know. Well next time if you dont know ask someone. This may be why at lunch time there are very few people here. My husband had a veal platter that he said was good.

Temperature in dining area was a tad cool. Food was served in a decent amount of time. I ordered the chicken solvaki platter. The ratio of tomatoe vs chicken was uneven. More tomatoe than chicken. I ordered no onions. The salad was marinated ice burg lettuce with generous amount of feta cheese. Slightly disappointing. Mom ordered the deluxe burge. r. It was to be medium rare. Medium well is what was served.

Everything Ive had here is quite tasty. Very few restaurants around here offer clams and the fried clams here have a light, seasoned breading that makes them a favorite. Service is outstanding. I have not had dessert here but friends tell me theyre delicious. There is also a semi-private room for small parties like meetings or bridal showers or birthday parties. The restaurant is very conveniently located.

Worst service i have ever recieved in a diner. Took 5 mins to seat my wife and myself. Waited 15 more minutes and then another couple came in and was seated beside us. They were greeted and orders were taken before i knew who my waitress was. I understand that restaurants get busy and sometimes accidents happen, but there were 4 tables with patrons at them and 4 ladies walking around just wiping tables

I ordered the meat loaf sandwich and it was awful. Tasted like someone spilled a bottle of oregano in it, then started adding garlic and lost count. I didnt realize just how much garlic was in it until my wife refused to give me a kiss later. I gave two stars because my wife ordered the chicken salad sandwich and it was good. We had apple pie for desert and that was good also.

we have always enjoyed coming here. my fiancé loves trying different menu items, but i stick to my regular order. servers are always nice, pleasant and quick. this is the place we go for a quick dinner that we know we will enjoy. also i am on a restricted diet and this is one of the ONLY restaurants in town that offers egg beaters as an alternative to eggs. i love that!

I went when they first opened and it was great for about a month the last three times I went I was really dissapointed in the service. The last two times the food was not fit to eat. I remember when they first opened there was an older gentelman there I beleive he is the owner. I guess its true what they say when the cats away the mice will play. I wont be going back

One of the worst dining experiences ever. No one has 1.5 hrs to wait for food with 2 toddlers. The restaurant knew we were coming as a large group and we were only assigned over server who was also waiting other tables as other servers stood around. The cashier was rude and tried to make us way overpay because they lost our ticket.

The food was moderately decent at best and the service WAS POOP!! We saw our waitress 2x from the time we sat down until we left. Neither my wife and I got a refill for our drinks and had to get up and ask another waitress for napkins. It WAS a Sat morning however, there was only 4 other couples in the entire restaurant
