We were traveling I-81N & wanted a local place to eat instead of the usual chain food. I found L & S Diner online & reviews were good & since it was 12 noon decided to stop. Would never have found it without GPS, not right off highway. We got to the diner , opened the door & were greeted with "we are closed". The website advertised it was open until 8 pm. There was no "CLOSED" sign on the door. There were 2 people I could see at the counter. Not only disappointed but dont waste the time trying to get to a place thats advertised open & closes 8 hrs early.

Jeremy the dishwasher makes this place come alive! Good food, good atmosphere, authentic "Diner-style" dining at the counter top. Better get here early if you want a good seat. Locals flock to this place for breakfast, and in some not-so-rare cases, you may run into Ralph Sampson and his family, a valley icon who returned to his roots years ago and now rubs elbows with the locals who are his friends. Dont forget to say hello to the owner Linda, a kind, sweet lady who loves to see her customers happy.

The L&S Diner dates back to the 1940s and with any luck it last forever. They serve breakfast and lunch. Have a seat at the counter and standby for a morning meal experience that will leave a smile on your face for the day. The food is simple and good, the wait staff is engaging, the pricing is perfect and I look forward to my next trip through Harrisonburg!

Its a small place where everyone knows each other. They have on there menu that you will not leave hungry. A very true statement. Dont like that they only accept cash. Otherwise it would be five stars.
