My husband and I have eaten here many, many times. We decided to stop in for lunch today and were pretty disappointed. My husbands beef my husbands beef teriyaki dish came back with steakum type of meat versus how hes always been served – long strips of beef. They were out of tuna, type of meat versus how hes always been served – long strips a beef. They were out of tuna so I was unable to order my tuna tataki. Instead I ordered the set s instead I ordered the sashimi lunchbox. My biggest complaint was the salmon which was served slightly icy. This is very unappetizing to me! Considering how often my husband and I go and eat here, our complaints to the waitress not compensated in anyway. An apology directly from the owner or even a slight discount wouldve made us feel a lot better about the first 35 bucks we just spent eating lunch. I will go and eat there again but without second chances....

I have been going to Naritas since they opened (around 15 years?). In fact, we were one of their very first customers (with our picture on the wall). My children love it and consider it their favorite restaurant, as do I. You cannot beat the house salad dressing and their miso soup is some of the best. I highly recommend their Rivers Bend roll, their rainbow roll, their tempura, their udon soup, and my son swears by their Rhino roll. One of my daughters does not like sushi, so she lives in their chicken teriyaki. I have only positive things I can say, the owner is the nicest lady, ever, and my kids grew up and went to school with her kids. I can also guarantee that if you feel a piece of fish is not fresh, they will take it back; no questions asked! I have tried every sushi restaurant in the area, mainly because I LOVE SUSHI! But, always come home to Naritas!

We live in Rivers Bend and disparately need good, high quality restaurants in our area. For this reason we go out of our way to support this restaurant. The food is definitely the best around but every time we go we say we will never go back because the service is so bad. I think they have a hard time keeping people. The young lady who works there most of the time is very unfriendly and treats our family coldly even though we are regulars and very good tippers. We actually call it the "Redneck" sushi place because they have rustic wooden tables and chairs. No way can the atmosphere be described as "cozy." There is nothing cozy about the place. I also think it is insulting that they give forks instead of chop sticks. Most of the time we even have to ask for wasabi with our sushi and that means getting up from the table and finding someone to get it for us.

Busy on a Tuesday evening with eat in and take out. The wait staff kept up well with the hectic pace. I got the Korean chirashi and a spicy octopus appetizer. I prefer the Korean chirashi over the Japanese style because it is more like a salad with all of the vegetables. The fish was OK. Some was not as fresh as I would like but the overall dish was good. The octopus was tasty but was heavy on the spicy mayo sauce. They advertised adding Kraft cheese on top of your ramen for $1. My son said that is very Japanese. The sushi I saw being served was attractive but seemed heavy on mayo and other sauces, which is typical of American sushi. There were a lot of regulars getting take out and eating in, which is a good sign. Not my most favorite sushi restaurant but good. I would come again to try something different.

I ordered tuna, salmon, and white tuna nigiri. The portion of the fish itself was generous compared to what you get at Martins on their sushi Wednesdays. I believe its also bigger than what you May get at sushi king. Sake was good. The ginger (my favorite) was fresh and tasty. Again compared to Martins or elsewhere in the Chesterfield area its nicely made. I would say the cost is pretty decent for what you get. Living in Japan for 4 years you get spoiled with good sushi for cheap. And being raised a New Yorker you cant beat the value than what you would pay in a downtown sushi joint in the city. Seems like it stays pretty busy even on a Thursday midday. Id come back if the portions remain generous.

The food is excellent, but over the last few visits the service has been going down. The only time a waitress came over was to ask if I wanted the check, and each time I said no, I wanted a refill on my drink. This went on for over 10 minutes. One of the waitresses would ask if I wanted the check, I would ask for a refill on my drink. NEVER GOT A REFILL. There is one waitress a 2 runners, this one girl is directing the other 2. From what I noticed if you are one of the waitresses regular customers shell bend over backwards other wise youre out of luck. Best advice wait a year of so till they cycle her out.

We went to Narita one evening and was a bit wary when we walked in the door. The ambience is lacking and I felt like I was in a BBQ joint instead of a japanese restaurant. We ordered salad and sushi. I found the sushi to be a little overpriced but very tasty. We had the Rivers Bend roll which we really liked. We also had an eel roll and a pickled cabbage roll. Ive paid less and had better quality sushi at other places, but none in this area. I would probably go back but maybe during lunch time when I felt like I was getting more "bang for my buck". The ginger salad dressing was very good also.

Used to be at least good, sometimes great... Fast forward several years and it is now officially dreadful. Last time I was there the "sushi chef" managed to drop the platter of sushi on us while handing it over the bar. The fish was dried out and the rice was off-colored and tasted strange. I gave it 2 stars because I didnt get sick. I have had much better sushi from a grocery store. Not a high bar for sushi. No offense, but if you think this is the best sushi in the Richmond area, I can only conclude youve not eaten at any other sushi bars but this one.

Narita is the best Sushi around Richmond hands down! The Rhino Roll will get you hooked on sushi even if your not a fan, case in point Ive personally turned 3 people on to sushi through that roll alone. all the other specialty rolls are also delicious, and usually have a very generous portion. The Spicy Tuna is indeed very spicy, but in a good way! I cant rave enough about this place I really hope they get a web site soon so more people will go there, great atmosphere, cozy and mellow, and the wait staff is very personable.

The food was subpar. The edamame was luke warm at best, and for a cost of $4.50, it was lightly piled on a coffee cup saucer plate (very small portion). I waited 20+ minutes for my entree to come out (2 specialty rolls). The rolls were very small and cheaply made. They salmon and red snapper may not technically be sushi grade as they were still on the skin at the sushi bar (never seen that before). For the quality of food, I would have expected a $10-12 meal, not a $24 meal.
