So I want to start my saying I was extremely disappointed by this places misleading photos on their site. My husband and I were looking for a different Hibachi place in the area, and thought this might be a winner. If you click on the Hibachi section of their site, it shows a guy cooking Hibachi style with people sitting around the grill. The actual restaurant doesnt have this; it just has a sushi counter were you can watch them roll your sushi for you. We were extremely disappointed as we were primarily there to "watch the Hibachi show." Instead, we settled for sushi and the "Hibachi" we couldnt watch we made. The sushi was plentiful and tasty, but the Hibachi plate was really skimpy. There wasnt very much food given at all for the price paid. Overall, it was okay, but we wont be returning ever again.

Such a great hidden gem. Its a small place, but the atmosphere is perfect. Every time I go its never over crowded, and I always get greeted kindly. Ive only eaten a couple things from their menu, but it was enough to keep me coming for more. Their hibachi plates are good (they dont cook in front of you). Their dumplings are satisfying, and their sushi is delicious. They even do sushi boats. I think the absolute best thing I love from this restaurant is the relaxed yet professional feel of the place. Also, they have a authentic Japanese Ramen special going on now. I hope they dont remove the ramen from the menu. Give this place a try, Im sure youll love it too. Especially if you love anime and all things Japanese :D This is my go to weekend restaurant! If i could give them more than 5 stars I would.

We have been long time fans of Osaka near Springfield Mall but it was recently sold to a different owner/staff/chef. We reluctantly tried Katana and were very pleasantly surprised: some of the best sushi we have had in NOVA and we have been eating in the area for over 15 years. The wait staff are very friendly and our 1 year old daughter loves them. Both the price and the size of the sushi are comparable to area restaurants, with many interesting new special rolls. We havent been to Flying Fish but this is hands down better than Matsui. Try the mango mochi ice cream for dessert!

I lived in Japan for several years and had a very good sushi house I was a regular patron of while I was there. I have been to several sushi restaurants since I have been back and none we able to compare to the real thing. That is, until I ate at the Katana. I tried a variety of rolls from the menu and not one was bad, and a couple were even a little better than the place I frequented in Japan. Excellent food, and I will definitely be a regular customer at Katana!

This is a nice and cozy Japanese restaurant that surprised me in terms of how good their ramen was. Ive had ramen from all over, and appreciate it when a restaurant can do it right. The service was great as well, the waitress was polite and delivered our food/drinks quickly. Definitely go here if you are looking for quality!

The value is not good for sashimi. The slices were thin, my side of rice meager the miso soup not spiced enough and the wasabi was a little off. I had to send back my plate because he put imitation crab meat and cooked shrimp on my "raw" plate. I will drive a little further for my sushi lunch next time.

A nice cozy little restaurant with fantastic, fresh sushi! This is pretty hard to come by in the Kingstowne area. When you go you have to try the Hayfield roll and the Dynamite roll! Everything was amazing and the service was excellent! We will definitely be coming back weekly!

How its getting 5 stars is beyond me. Took 30 minutes to prepare our food and it was only the two of us in the restaurant. Portions were too big and the fish was not fresh. You pay too much for what you get. There are better places in the area.

Its not the best but its still really a good choice in the area. When I dont want to drive down to old town to Momo or across nova to Yamazato this place is close to home and decent priced. I havent had the hibachi but I like their sushi.

Great value for fresh ingredients and flavorful originality. Has all the basic dishes for sushi lovers, and some creative rolls. We love the Hayfield roll and the avocado roll - big portions for the price. Great value!
