Wife ordered the pulled pork platter, I ordered the Pick Two with ribs and brisket. According to the menu, these were supposed to come with corn bread and breadsticks. We received neither. Aside from my ribs being cold (hence the 2 instead of a 3) and the rest of the food being only luke warm, the food was really good. Brisket was so tender it was falling apart as I put my fork into it, and was also very flavorful. The fries were amazing, and I probably could have just eaten several baskets of them. Not sure if the bleu cheese dressing is housemade or not, but this was really good also, with large chunks of bleu cheese. As was hinted at by the lack of corn bread and breadsticks, the service was awful. The waitress had more interest in hanging out at the bar than checking on our table. We were sitting for about 10 minutes before our drink order was taken. After delivering our meal, the next time the waitress came over to check on us was to ask if we wanted dessert. When my wife explained that she didnt like the pulled pork due to the amount of smoke flavor, the waitress said "oh, ok, sorry about that", and then walked away with the plate. No offer to take it off the bill, no offer to reduce the price, no offer of replacing it with something else. We were not even offered the option of a to-go container; I quite enjoyed the pulled pork and thought it would have made a good sandwich the next day, but that thought didnt even cross her mind as she was too preoccupied with whatever was holding her interest at the bar. We will definitely return here, but we will make sure to sit at the bar, or at the least, ensure we do not get the same waitress.

Amazing: Do not wear your best suit here when ordering the signature dish. Its messy but amazing. Worth it. Also i have onion allergy so it was nice to see them go or if there way to make my meal the best. My waitress was Britney and she was a great waitress. Would eat here again and willing to ask friends to come as well. Edit: Ive been coming here for a few weeks now. Ive been going around eating at other places within Stowe. Picassos, blue donkey. each week. testing new things. and Im sorry people. sunset is my winner. with the best service. best food. and by far best prices. Personally i felt the place to be very down to earth. its not some big fancy place. but a very earthy place with nice people. I actually find myself looking forward to the people more then the food. Im already planing trips with friends and outings with people for meeting them first times.

I was so happy to find a place that was open late with a full menu when I rolled into town. The staff was friendly and engaging, the establishment was clean and decorated well, and the food was delicious! I had the Bacon Blue burger, which in addition to being cooked just how I wanted had a fantastic balance of toppings, sauce, and spices. The fried zucchini is also fantastic, great texture and taste. I love that the beef in the burger and the hard cider I had were made locally. All in all, a wonderful place. I would definitely return if I was in the area again.

LOVE the Sunset Grille. They have a really nice bar area lots of TVs, a pool table and an outdoor volleyball court. They also have a completely separate dining room that is quiet and intimate. The food is uniformly great. They have a lot of beers on tap and a big selection of local beers, as well as the usual suspects, and lots of local hard ciders and other drinks. If youre into wings, get them with their house sauce - its great! Also, get the pigskins: Regular potato skins (bacon and cheddar) topped with BBQ pulled pork and cole slaw on the side. Amazing!

I absolutely agree with the waitress being rude! She did not want to be there, she should have stayed home with the grandkids!! She never did welcome us or say hello, kiss my butt, or anything for that matter! She did try to make small talk when she brought our bill out. And the fact they wouldnt/couldnt separate our bill, and there was only 2 couples, was crazy too! My brother left $4.99 more than I would have. I honestly wanted to leave a penny so she would get the hint!!! "Yelp" gave them three stars more than it should have! I will never go back!!!

The review and picture is for the Alchemist a craft beer brewery just up the street from the Sunset Grille. The Alchemist on Cottage Club Rd is a newish (~2015 - 2016) addition to the company with the original brewery being located in Waterbury near Ben & Jerrys. The original location is no longer open to the public. The new location, in Stowe, is much better poised to serve the public with separate fast moving lines for taste testing and purchasing product. Its a nice bright cheery place and the featured product is "Heady Topper," a very hoppy beer.

My daughter ordered a chicken dish, which looked ok on the outside but when she cut into the chicken it was completely bloody and cold on the inside. Since consuming bloody chicken is a health risk, we notified the waitress -- who took it back to the kitchen. We presumed that she was bringing out a new, thoroughly-cooked dish of chicken, but she simply brought back the previously bloody chicken which was now over-microwaved to near-complete dryness. I would not recommend this restaurant, especially since they clearly disregard food safety.

They need to remove the "Tap Room" from the name as they do not brew their own beer nor do they have a tapping....Otherwise this is a great local hangout. Bartenders were great, food is comfort food, their prices are good and they have a boatload of TVs and they show 3-5 games at a time. This is the best place in Stowe to relax, drink some beers (dont know about sodas or if they charge for refills), eat good food, and get some local conversation. Tried the Rusty Nail tonight and realized it was a mistake, so we headed back to Sunset Grill.

Birthday bash with friends, this restaurant is friendly and has that "Cheers" atmosphere. Best burgers and nachos in Stowe, and they make a respectable Reuben sandwich. Ordering the sliders, cant beat that flavor! Tshirt on waitress is funny, "best buns in town". Sunset has a great menu, family friendly and plenty of sports to watch all the time.

Sunset Grille and Tap Room provided us dinner for 30 over our wedding weekend. Everything was delicious and the owners, Nancy and Hobbs, were so easy to work with! Our guests were all raving about how delicious it was! Thank you for your part in making our weekend fabulous!

This place was great! The boneless wings were nothing to write home about, but their bone-in were phenomenal! They also have a great house hot-sauce and make an awesome margarita! Wonderful service, awesome environment, and super friendly patrons. Well definitely go back!

We ate on the deck under the tree. Chair and table needed cleaning when we got there. App plates were dirty. Waitresses stomped around shaking the table. Dumb, pandering country music. Caesar salad was chalky. I dont recommend the Harpoon Cider.

Basic BBQ bar food. Fun menu, sports bar atmosphere. One of my favorite local spots that most tourists dont know about. It is right next to the new Alchemist brewery, so it is getting a little more popular, but always relaxed atmosphere.
