Wow, What an awesome experience. From the moment we walked in to our leaving the restaurant. The hostess on last evening was amazing, personally came over to greet us and sent over a sample of their deli meats that they prepare on site. My favorite was the roast beef, my husband and 1 daughter was the pastrami the other loved the corned beef. We had the crab soup, Jambalaya , a shrimp dish and I had seafood with garlic ginger and other spices. Portions are huge. Bread is served if requested. We will defiantly be going back. Our waitress was also awesome. Great place with an exceptional staff. How refreshing.

Staff is always warm and welcoming, makes you feel like you are visiting friends. Food is amazing not a bad thing on the menu. Restaurant has recently moved across the street and unfortunately lost their patio, but the new space is still very cozy. Pictured are reuben and chicken parm, personal favorites. Their fries are amazing - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, steak cut. Rhode Island style clam chowder is very good. They have a meatball salad that is huge and filling. All the appetizers are amazing, lots of great seafood. Definitely a must visit

The food at Savin Rock blows me away every time. Excellent sandwiches, with a variety of classic sandwich meats and delicious specials. All meat is slow-roasted overnight to perfection, and the people in the kitchen are nothing if not creative. The service is great on all counts, and very friendly. I would absolutely recommend the restaurant to anyone passing through and looking for a good meal—and Sunday night is Open Mic night, and theres always a great variety of musicians. Absolutely a staple of good eating in West Haven.

Everything Ive had here has been great. Reubens a little greasy, but perfect proportions. The Corned Beef is amazing, the eggplant lasagna is awesome, and not heavy like it seems it would be. The roast beef is served warm even on plain bread. Ask for russian or horseradish, b/c it keeps arriving with a side of mustard. I dont know if thats the standard or an error, but Ive gotten it with mustard 3 times, and I personally like horseradish. Coleslaw is usually very good, on occasion is not.

I love this place. Friendly staff, great seafood (I always get seafood) but they even let you sample slices of their meats & man is it good. The restaurant is casual, has a nice bar, a great menu & the wait is never long. Its right across from the beach/boardwalk too, if you want to take a refreshing stroll before or after your dining. I highly recommend you try Savin Rock Roasting Co. AT LEAST once!!

Horrible food...not authentic in any way. Menu is way to large - a key indicator that the owners dont know what they are doing. They need to pair it down and focus on quality meals. Poorly cooked fish, way too much oil, and there is no way they even know what a panzanella salad is after they served what they did. I highly recommend avoiding this place.

Good place to eat. The food was fresh... real mashed potatoes and just picked corn on the cob. Our waitress didnt give us a heads up as to the size of the 2 peanut butter cakes we ordered to go... its actually a mini cake and one will serve 2 with generous pieces!! Best flavor when eaten at room temperature! Ill be back!

Love, love, love this place. The staff are beyond awesome. The food is always good. Its the most reliable place Ive ever been to. No matter what I order off the menu its amazing and the portion sizes are great. Highly recommend trying the fried shrimp, the lamb, or any of their desserts (also massive!)

This place is excellent! Recommended by all my friends as well, everything I have eaten here, always something different each time, was great! Had fish and chicken fried and grilled, awesome! Cant wait to go back! Oh yeah and desserts are huge, do I recommend sharing with already one other person.

The corned beef here (on my melt) was just amazing. Moist and juicy, but not sopping so my bread turned to mush, and perfectly spiced. I ordered to go because of a dog I had with me and they even gave me a bowl for his water, no charge. If you like corned beef I HIGHLY recommend this place!

A family member works here so we visit often, food is great. Especially the bread pudding and garlic bread fondue. The only thing that bothers me is that the bar is so close to dining area and when theres a lot of people the sound overcomes the dining area. only complaint

One of the most beautiful views I have experienced. To look at a structure that was built B.C., eat and drink and enjoy this view is unprecedented. Atmosphere and food is relaxing and delicious. You cant ask for more, truly. ***** 5 stars!

Stopped by here while I was waiting for a friend before a concert in Wallingford. The beers were cheap and their Pastrami Sandwich was one of the best ones Ive ever had. The place was kind of dead but it was a Thursday at 6PM.

Absolutely amazing, creative specials. The food is SEVERAL cuts above standard West Haven fare. My wife an I dine out a lot and this is our go-to place, easily rivaling most (if not all) of the trendier New Haven eateries.

Gormet specials change weekly. Great service. Sandwiches stacked high with great ingredients. Creative kitchen. Good prices too. Daily specials run out frequently, so get here early.
