"Up For Breakfast" is on Main Street, one must walk up a set of stairs to find this gem. Im guessing one must go up is that the food is truly " Heaven Sent". Look Im a Foodie, breakfast here makes me warm and fuzzy and just plain jealous I have to travel north to get it. The inside is a classic style VT eatery, tables and a small counter looking into a "magic" kitchen. The reason its magic is, owner Bonnie Bruce obviously must be a graduate of "Hogwarts" for only Witchcraft and Wizardry could produce such results. Pancakes ...Blueberry pear pecan buttermilk pancakes that is. Strawberry cream cheese croissant French toast topped with warm bananas, brown sugar and almonds O my ! Brie, apple wood smoked bacon, tomato and baby spinach on a grilled croissant topped with poached eggs and dill hollandaise. Look, one must keep with the specials. They do have a regular menu but leave that to the Philistines. If Bonnie is coming up with something special give thanks and order one. Now if you planned on having lunch later, wrong ! unless of course your a food eating champion or just Billy Bunter. Trust me making a "bucket list" Up For Breakfast needs to be on it. Thank you Bonnie your my foddie magician.

Good food takes time, everything is made fresh from scratch, cinnamon buns are to die for and made with a maple glaze (maple from the guy up the road), great warmed up with some ice cream! I always order what I cannot make or am unwilling to make at home, blueberry venison sausages, banana bread french toast with pears walnuts ...awesome! Kicked up eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. If you are accustomed to the hurried service of many restaurants, remember, time moves differently in these New England towns. Service is un-rushed but far from slow, good food takes time and eating should not be rushed. This is an establishment with incredible food, and those who have waited on us offered plenty of smiles, conversation, good information and advice for our stay in VT. If you have an issue with the service, maybe its you, smile and be kind next time and leave the attitude at home, if you are not a local you are here for vacation so relax and slow down.

Rude! We stopped in for coffee around 10:30 and was told by the very rude woman over the counter that if they got busy we would have to "move on". There were open tables when we walked in. We sat at the counter because we didnt want to take up a table for just coffee. We were never offered a refill or suggested a take out cup. So we drank up our 3/4 filled coffee, paid the $4.95 she asked for and a nickel tip and left knowing we would never walk up those stairs again. Heres karma for you- the reason we didnt eat is because we meet with a group of about 10-12 people every Sat. at 7:30 at a different spot rotated through a list of about 8 restaurants, walking in we thought this would be a nice addition to that list, NOT. If your not willing to empty your wallets when eating here, dont bother these people, they dont want you there.

Excellent breakfast food. The specials tend to be a bit pricey, but you are getting premium meat for the price, such as when I had venison Benedict one morning. The special sausages are always an interesting meat, such pheasant, boar, or venison. The staff is very friendly. The building its in is rather small though, so expect a wait on the weekends unless going on the early side. The coffee is good here, and in addition to regular and decaf there is a rotating flavored coffee that I have always found pretty good too

The food was really awesome and so was the service. I would highly recommend the resturant to anyone. I ate there for breakfast two days over a weekend when I was staying locally. I promise you will not be disappointed. On the first day I had pancakes and on the second day I had the cinnamon frenchtoast. Both where great but if you are going to only be there for one visit then go for the cinnamon frenchtoast. Get there as early as you can because a line does begin to grow, a sign of great food and great service.

Found this place by accident last year. Ten of us for breakfast and the place was small and already very busy. They handled it with no issues and spectacular food and service. The best part and sadly lacking at many breakfast places is that the food arrives HOT at the table. This past Fathers Day we drove the 90 minutes from New York to Vermont and had another GREAT breakfast. Well worth the drive and the cost.

Food was fine, but coffee was not that good (maybe the hazelnut is better?). But Im giving only 2 stars because service was rude and rushed, and unlike the other tables, they never asked if we wanted a refill of our coffees. Next time In Manchester, well go back to Bobs dîner instead. Not cheap, but whats cheap these days. No credit card accepted, which is fine, but unusual in 2017.

The best breakfast joint in the area. It is tucked above retail store fronts and if you are fan of authentic food and authentic places this is the place for you. The menu offers core breakfast options and allows you to make some twists to spice things up a bit. Worth a walk up the stairs to see if they have a table open or a spot available at the bar.

Fantastic brisket hash--poached eggs perfect. Pricey, but there are plenty of less pricey items on menu. Wonderful service--coffee refilled constantly, always checking in to see if we need anything, very pleasant. I am unclear as to why other reviews were sketchy on service--my experience was fantastic. A new personal favorite in Manchester.

Delicious breakfast with good quality ingredients; busy on weekends (small place and limited tables) so expect to stand in line for a while. Prices are high for the quality and service they provide. There are better places around with the same quality of food yet lower prices. It is a cash only place which may be an inconvenient too.

Breakfast for two will run over $40. Good fresh food but pricey for bfast. Very tight space. Our server was very friendly but the other servers who seated us and greeted us were not friendly at all. However they must be doing something right as there was a line out the door waiting to get in to eat.

Good food, but pricey, $60 for breakfast for three of us. Passive aggressive waitress who disguised impatience as politeness with please and thank you. Seemed like she just wanted us out of there. Not worth the money if you have a couple of kids or are looking for any kind of value.

The breakfast was excellent. The restaurant was busy and several parties were waiting, but the hostess kept them apprised of the wait time, and even offered them a coffee while they were waiting. The menu is diverse. A little pricey for a regular basis, but a nice treat.

Second time at this place. We made a point of coming back because we tried it two years ago and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. Fantastic food and friendly staff. Bring cash. They dont take cards. A real gem of a place. If you are in the area, go.
