The weekend service has always been great - and its what has kept me coming back. However, over the past month I have come in on a weekday twice and have been thoroughly unimpressed. The first time it took over 40 minutes for a breakfast sandwich and scrambled eggs. The food was good enough for me to give it another try. When I stopped in for breakfast recently, I ordered blueberry pancakes. The blueberries were essentially still frozen when they were served - about 20 minutes after I ordered, though the restaurant was not busy. Perhaps if the staff spent as much time talking to each other as they did preparing food, the food would arrive quicker and warmer. I am seriously disappointed because I think that Essex deserves a great breakfast place. If the weekday staff stepped up as much as the weekend staff, this could be a consistent establishment.

My fiancé and I spent a few days in VT and dont always have the best luck finding good places for breakfast. This however what a great experience! We both got the traditional breakfast plate, our go-to. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and I asked them to "burn" my homefries, which they did, and they were perfectly seasoned. Friendly staff, bottomless coffee, and a small homey feel. Hopefully we will be back!

Good Things come in small packages as they say, so get here early! The eggs Benedict Florentine is fantastic, I was a little reserved about the additions to my beloved eggs benni BUT I wasnt let down. The table next to mine couldnt stop talking about their blueberry pancakes so those are probably pretty good too :) If it wasnt for the small amount of space to sit at, this would have been all "Excellents"

THE place to go if you are near the Junction. It doesnt have the bulk of JPs, but the quality of product is great, and Jake is the kind of guy we like to support. If you like hot sauce, try their homemade brand. They do sell it. Friendly people, good service, yummy food. Check out the menu at their website, and say hello to Jake.

This place renewed my faith in god via omelette. Every bite brought overwhelming joy and sorrow. The joy because it was like a party in my mouth where all the supermodels are naked. Hands-down my favorite breakfast spot around, and a top spot for lunch too! The huevos rancheros is especially yummy. The staff is always friendly, and service is quick. Im sitting in the parking lot right now waiting to be the first breakfast customer :)...photos to come! (edit: photo added!)

A little crowded, a little noisy, but thats because the food is amazing and people flock here to eat. Creative dishes and tried and true foods satisfy foodies and toddlers. The staff is friendly and fun. Cant recommended Firebird enough. Beware the crowded driveway and parking lot, though.

What a cute little place. Great food and friendly service. This was my first visit, I had a quick breakfast sandwich with Chipotle which was perfect. The menu looks great, looking forward to trying the huevos rancheros, I will definitely be back!

What a find - I had the Carnitas omelette ( egg white style ) swapped the tomatillo sauce for the Polblano sauce! Also got the breakfast potatoes instead of toast... Outstanding ! One of the best omelette a Ive ever eaten - seriously !!!

I tried to go here once on a Saturday around lunchtime. All of the tables were occupied with people who were not even eating. The staff offered no help in finding me a place to sit, so I just had to leave and find another restaurant.

Absolutely my favorite brunch spot in Essex. Espresso drinks are on point, try a maple latte. Chorizo eggs benedict is a must. Breakfast sandwiches are also excellent with a croissant.

Fantastic little restaurant for brunch, all the menu items are delicious. The interior is very small and seating can get a bit scarce when its busy. Staff very friendly and welcoming.
