In short: Midvale location "This is now the most expensive indian food excursion we have had, and it is easily the most disappointing. there are many other places to go and enjoy within 10 miles, so consider your other options" My wife and i adore indian food. We had our wedding catered with our favorite dishes. We try to not visit the same restaurant too often as each seems to have their own style. Ganesh has a style truly all its own, and a style i will pass on when given a choice. Our sizable order included of course, chicken tikka masala, an order of both vegetable and lamb samosas, lamb naan, and garlic naan. The garlic naan was fantastic, but every indian place gets this right, so dont let this convince you to come here. The lamb naan was a surprise as well, and was delicious and spicy. Unfortunately, thats where the positive ends. Chicken tikka masala is easily the most popular indian dish at every indian food restaurant. Its accessible, and a great introduction for anyone to indian food. The chicken tikka masala we were served at ganesh lacked any of the complex flavors. Unlike many other renditions we know and love, there was a distinct lack of peppers, or any vegetable, and even seemed to lack the garam masala spice we have come to expect. The dish was absolutely not what we hoped for; it smells and tastes almost sickly sweet - Sweet enough i mistook the odour for pineapple. We ordered it hot, which was the perfect heat, but the sweetness ruined the dish for us both. My wife described the tikka masala as "sweet and spicy tomato soup". The vegetable samosas would be better of named potato samosas, as they didnt contain anything else. The lamb samosas were decent, but again lacked any complex spices or flavors. The counter and waiting staff were very nice, and personable. Unfortunately, this is not a review of their personalities but a warning to anyone who likes indian food, and has enjoyed it elsewhere. This would all be understandable, had the price of our meal reflected the quality. This is now among the most expensive indian food excursions we have had, and it is easily the most disappointing. *** Edit: I unfortunately did change my review from two to one stars. After reading 4 other reviews left a year ago or more that have the same exact complaint, specifically about the "tomato soup" masala, i find it very very hard to believe that the owners care about feedback at all, and only reply to reviews to give the appearance of customer service. We will not be returning to this very disappointing restaurant, and hope one of their competitors branches into the fort union area.

If anyone in the Salt Lake Valley ever has the inclination to go to the restaurant called Ganesh Indian Cuisine, DONT!!!!!!!!! They are WAY overpriced, and the food is terrible, as well as the service. My mother and i went for their lunch buffet, and pretty much everything was gone, and they wouldnt refill it. The food was cold. We asked for no ice in our drinks repeatedly, and he kept putting the ice in anyway. The owner went to clear some of the plates on the table, and he knocked over my 3/4 full mango juice, and imstead of immediately cleaning it up, he let it sit there for about 4 minutes before asking if wed like him to clean it up, which he then proceeded to do with a DRY napkin. He moved us, and when we requested a certain table, he said no, and sat us somewhere else. He then let me go 10 more minutes without a drink, at which point, Mom had to say something. He brought it, and charged us for that one too, even though HE spilled it. THEN, he brought out some sort of dish that looked like chicken innards and smelled (and tasted) like feet. He asked if I would like some, and I very politely told him no thank you, but he piled 4 giant spoonfuls of it right onto my curry, and probably would have put more, had I not told him that Im pregnant and cant eat too much. He kept trying to take our plates while we were still eating, as well. There was only one other table that had anyone at it in the whole restaurant, and they left about 10 minutes after we got there, so he wasnt busy. He just lacked people skills. AWFUL experience! When you go for a buffet, and you pay a high end buffet price, you expect the buffet to be fully stocked. When we walked in, there were 2 pans of cold, crusty rice, a round of Naan bread, and some cold curry sauce. He offered to let us choose ONE of the dishes that was SUPPOSED to be on the buffet, and he would make it, and even then, it was at least half an hour before we got anything that we had asked for, and it was cold. The buffet should have gone another hour after we had arrived, so there is no excuse to not have FRESH HOT food at the buffet. He charged us the whole buffet price, but we did not get the full buffet experience.

Was just there last Friday. My girlfriend and I love Indian food and have been to India House, Tandoor Grill, Bombay House and Himalayan a number of times. When we first walked in we noticed a strong odor, which slightly resembled urine, though it obviously wasnt. And Im not talking about a spice smell but something between a strong ammonia/urine smell. And this isnt just me being overly sensitive about the restaurants where I eat. We had free popadoms with chutney which was nice, but the three waiters who were there didnt even show up to our table for ten minutes, literally. And then they didnt come back with drinks or appetizers for another 15 minutes. I know this because my girlfriend had to leave by 8 and she kept checking her cell phone. The other thing missing was the ability of the waiters to come back periodically and check if everything was ok, ask for refills also, which they didnt. The waiters were nice enough just no organization to their waitering. We ordered channa masala and saag paneer. The paneer was great, however the channa masala looked and tasted like the first time I would try to make it myself. It had a very weak watery taste and texture unlike Ive ever had before, even from frozen store bought Indian meals such as Tandoor Chefs, which is quite good. Not sure if channa masala usually has tomato paste to get its dark red rich sauce but the spaghetti sauce color and richness was absent from it here. Also, dishes were served in basic bowls so the food was cold after our first portions. Overall a disappointment but might try their lunch buffet in a while if Im in the area again. Oh yeah, bathroom had no paper towels in there, walls were dirty and it was like sitting in an outhouse, very cold.

We are regular customers to the Ganesh Indian Cuisine , but the way the management behavior is very unsatisfied and not humble . It is really very very bad experience i never have in my entire stay in US in many cities .On last week of August with the experience that i have with them with respect to Mutton Biryani where it has not cooked properly and the pieces were not at all cooked properly and i made this order at 9.10 PM and took the order at 9.35 PM and went home at 9.45 PM and where we started eating we noticed the food has been not cooked properly along with pieces and when i call them 5 minutes before there closing time , i havent got proper response from the Management when there lift my call and by that time i decided that i never visit the Ganesh Indian Cuisine again in my entire life. The most worste part is there asked me to bring that night time Biryani next day so that they can see and verified it .
