Went here based on the high review ratings but was quite disappointed. Dishes were perfectly average portion-wise compared to any other Indian restaurant Ive been to, and far too bland for my wife and me. The rice was slightly overcooked which amazed me, given how its a staple. We got butter chicken (a speciality of the restaurant, but the single blandest example of an Indian dish I have ever eaten!), lamb coconut korma (better, but again on the bland side), and saag paneer, which was fine. The butter naan was underwhelming and thin, and the peshwari naan tasted of far too much cardamom. The sweet lassi was a nice break from the regular mango lassi most places offer though. Prices on par with most Indian restaurants - dishes each around $12-16. With all that said, the staff were incredibly friendly and polite, and service was prompt and speedy. I wouldnt necessarily recommend this place to anyone, but I wont say it was bad - just very unimpressive.

As several of the citysearch reviews mention, the service is excellent; it feels like everyone in the restaurant is trying to make your experience pleasant. Our entrees--vegetable masala and vegetable coconut kurma, both very mild--were great, and while I didnt like the kulfi, I expect its a matter of personal taste. Portions werent as large as is common at Indian restaurants, but the price is accordingly reasonable. It was about half-full when we went around 7:30 on a Friday evening, and our food was still served remarkably quickly. Id particularly recommend this restaurant over Aroma, a more upscale and probably more authentic restaurant, on 123rd S and 7th E. The wide aisle between tables avoids Aromas cramped feel, the help is far more attentive and gracious, and entrees ordered mild are skillfully geared to tame tastebuds, unlike our meal at Aroma. Give it a try. Good food, good prices, great service.

Royal India is pretty freaking good. Of course upon entering I need to ask if theyre associated with Bombay House. The owners are brothers, but the businesses arent associated. They have everything youd expect. Rogan Josh, beef, lamb and chicken vindaloo, korma, and its all very good. The service is kind and quick. The servers are personable. They serve big Indian beers. Everything is served family style. Order a bunch of naan and just freaking eat with your hands. Bollywood music and sitar laden returns play through the speakers. The kind of tacky yet expected décor that makes you certain youre about to eat Indian food. The smell of flavorful food and spices engulfs your nostrils the second you walk in through the door. As far as Indian food goes, its slightly heavier, but all very delicious.

This place is right by my house but I never paid it much attention until me and my aunt and sister saw 100 Foot Journey. I had never eaten Indian food and decided I wanted to try it. We were blown away. The food is fantastic. We got butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and chicken coconut kourma. I love all three but butter chicken is my favorite. The food is bursting with flavor and I felt that the service was great. They were very attentive and helpful. I have since been there to eat several times including for my birthday. So glad I found this gem close to home.

We love this place. I used to not like Indian food based on the experiences I had at other places in the valley, but since coming here Ive completely changed my tune. The staff is always super friendly and helpful, the food is consistently amazing, and we cant rave about this place enough to our friends and family. Its that delicate balance of keeping the secret to yourselves vs telling everyone you meet that this is the place to go for great Indian food in the valley. Weve been coming to this place for years and cant get enough of it. Highly recommended.

I did not like it. We had lentils, chicken Tikka Marsala, rice an naan. My comparison was a recent meal in London, so I might be biased. The chicken was dry. The sauce and flavors were good. The naan was stale. We tried the butter and garlic naan. My husband like the garlic, I liked the butter. The service was slow. Our waitress was friendly but before she arrived, we waited for a long time before we were greeted and seated. We were disappointed after reading all the good reviews. The restaurant was clean and well kept. I dont think we will be back.

This place has a surprisingly high rating and thats what brought us here. Decor of this place is like any other Indian Food joint, complete with old bollywood songs and Raja Ravi Verma paintings. We went there on NYE and the place was packed full. We ordered a mango lassi, samosas, mutton rogan josh, panner masala, garlic naan and onion naan. Apart from mango lassi, everything was bland and flavorless. Naans had a sprinkling of garlic powder making them taste really weird. We paid around $45 for some really bland and mediocre food.

My wife and I love this place. The food is in our opinion the best Indian around, the owners and staff are very friendly, and on multiple occasions have let us order 10 minutes before arriving so that right when we walk in the door our food arrives! They have the best naan, nice and crisp and flavorful, not so bland like the competitors. The price is fair, the environment is cultural and quiet, and never too busy. Theyve recently added a Favorite Eats station for frequent visits to save some money when so much is spent.

I have to eat gluten and dairy free, and they are very accommodating. If your waiter doesnt know how to handle your food allergies, ask for one that does because they are awesome at recommendations. I start out with the onion bahji, masala dosa, and then have their tikka masala made with coconut milk instead of cream. They can even make your mango lassi with soy milk. In all of my travels this is hands down the best Indian food Ive ever had.

Yes! Im tired and drinking a bit so Im not really interested in giving this review the justice it deserves. Im so ashamed. Suffice it to say this place is absolutely awesome and will make an Indian food lover out of the most provincial meat and potatoes eater. Ever. Because its awesome. And delicious. And they are awesome. And youll be treated like the kings and queens you are. Its really good. Are you?

I would not normally have come here. Its not my hood, and I have pretty good Indian locally. I needed a place with Vegetarian and Vegan options. That tends to mean Thai or Indian in this area. so, about the food. Solid. Atmosphere. Solid. Service. Solid. It took a little work to get the second beers, but everything else was smooth. If I lived in the area, it would be a go to place for Indian.

Go here weekly either for dine in or take out. Love the chicken tikka, veggie coconut kurma and Marsala dishes! Tonight we had a staffer even come and snag our 17 month old son so he could look around the restaurant and give mom and dad a few minutes of peace. Never before has this happened but I sure he hope my husband tipped them good! Such a nice family environment.
