I havent eaten Indian food this delicious in a LONG time. The food was just fantastic. I cant remember the last time we went to a restaurant and finished everything on the table, before coming to Bombay Grill. I remember telling my husband, "Im so full, but I havent had enough of this food yet." We ordered the chicken makhani (brilliant), dal makhani (delectable) and fantastic garlic naans. The owner is a man from Chandigarh, Punjab. The guy is a brilliant cook. His food is by far the best Indian food Ive had in Utah. Now the problem with his restaurant is -- its expensive!! His food may be great, but the prices are quite high, the restaurant isnt managed too well and there is just one waiter. I can see why there is one waiter; there usually isnt much of a crowd there. Hes the only one I saw in the kitchen, cooking and one guy waiting tables. Their website has now been shut down. Im afraid theyll close down if they dont start to make profits. If the owner ever comes across my review, Id like him to know his food is absolutely delicious. It may even be better than some 5-star restaurants in India. He needs to market his restaurant the right way, cut down the prices and fancy up his place a bit. The man has talent and I feel bad that it is not known to the world. Please go to Bombay Grill or order over the phone; you will love the food. We were licking fingers by the end of it. Give the man some credit for his food. He may seem shady or rude sometimes, but hes only trying to earn a living for his family.

I brought my wife here for lunch hoping she would like something from this Indian restaurant as she was convinced she didnt like Indian food from one try years ago. Well she LOVED the food here, and all of it was her first time trying the various dishes. I loved it too. We had the vegetable samosas as an appetizer, stuffed with potato and peas. Well, I eaten a lot of Indian food in Asia, Japan, and Thailand, and they were fantastic but these were probably the best samosas Ive had. Golden brown, cooked perfectly with some delicious dipping sauces. For entrees she had a lamb shari korma curry dish and I had the chicken tika masala. Delicious with perfectly made basmati rice. We also had Peshawari naan bread, with a cherry marmalade stuffing. Wow!! Delicious! In fact we ordered another to go! And the mango chutney was very nice with the naan. This restaurant doesnt have the fancy decorations of other great Indian restaurants in the area like Taste of India in Layton, but its clean and welcoming and has an open kitchen. It does have great food the equal to, or in my opinion, better. The difference is the chef/owner and his wife do all the cooking and everything else. With the open kitchen, its like your in their home kitchen having a home cooked meal. And thats what makes this place one not to miss. If your looking for authentic home style cooking for Indian food, not feeling like your in just another commercialized kitchen and restaurant, then come here. My wife is now a fan!

I was meeting an old friend in Ogden and her mom recommended the place. It was, and I do not exaggerate here, the best Indian food I have ever had. The service was great (there werent many other people there) but really what stood out was the amazing flavors of the food. You can ask for the spice-factor to be anywhere from 1-10. My friend got her tikka masala at an 8 and there was a nice burn to it that in no way concealed the delightfully balanced flavors of the dish. I got the lamb vindaloo and asked for a 10. He (I believe he was the owner) asked if I was sure and when I said that Id eaten Phaal he nodded. I backed it down to a 9 anyway. The lamb was tender and delicious, the sauce was deep and rich and perfect, though I could have had a 10. I eat a lot of very hot food though so, beware to those who do not. My friend got garlic Naan and I got the onion kulcha. The naan was really good but the kulcha was amazing and I plan on trying to make it as soon as I get back to NYC. We both had chai which was really good. I had 2 and she had an Indian style coffee so the total was 4 hot drinks, 2 entrees and 2 special breads for a grand total of just over $40. Not too shabby.

I have eaten Indian food from all over the U.S. Unfortunately, I have never been to India! This restaurant is, hands down, the best! It is often dead there, dont let that fool you! A neat family runs it and they are very nice to chat with. The finest authenticity, but that food is spicy! I like things spicy and once made the mistake of ordering it as an "8" on a scale of 1-10 and I could not eat it! I now stick with a 5 which is rather spicy. Im glad they give you that sliding scale option, too. The restaurant is actually a pretty nice space, as well. They use cloth tablecloths and napkins and nice wares. I would say it is a place you can go for a nice date or a place to bring friends.

I come to Ogden once a year and this is the place I make sure I go. To anyone who thinks the food is overpriced, its not. Running an independent restaurant is not cheap, and in order to pay the overhead, sometimes you have to raise prices. Remember, meat has jumped in price the last few years. Besides, for the quality and quantity of food you get, it really is a great price. No, the nan is not complementary, if you want free bread, go to the Olive Garden. But seriously, its 2 bucks, its worth it. The Lamb Saagwala is my personal favorite, if you like spicy, go with an 8 and be warned, it sneaks up on you. Also, try the coffee. Its AMAZING!

I dont like giving a not-so-great review for a family-run business. They seem like really friendly people and I know it is hard to survive in the restaurant world. But the reality of our experience was the food was a so-so 3-stars and the prices were so high I had to knock off a star. Another review mentioned the high prices, but I about fell off my seat (and almost left) when I saw the prices. We are talking WAY high.I really wanted to like Bombay Grill. I am a huge fan of the local hole-in-the-wall gem, but the price-performance ratio just doesnt cut it, Im sorry.

This restaurant is a MUST VISIT for anyone in Ogden ESPECIALLY if you love good Indian food. Ive been coming here for almost ten years now, I make at least one trip a month. Ive been all over from the east to the west coast and tried many different Indian restaurants and this is by far my absolute favorite. The owners/staff are very nice people and I am never disappointed. The food is authentic and well portioned, there are so many options that I still havent tried them all. Definitely eat here!
