We attended a gathering here after a friends funeral. Being from out of town, we had not been here before. The patio was reserved for our party which included several older folks. They did have three large patio heaters out there, but they were not turned on. It was quite chilly. When we asked the waitress if we could get them turned on, she roller her eyes and was quite rude when she said "When I have time." She continued with this attitude the entire time we were there. Apparently she was upset at being the only waitress on duty and decided to take it out on her customers. We were all quite shocked at her rudeness. After we had been there about an hour, and after several requests, they came out to turn on the heaters to find that only had any propane!! She would not take our food order unless we paid up front, which we refused, so she said she needed a credit card -- to order lunch?? We said never mind and went to eat elsewhere. Although the beer we tried was good, I would NEVER go here again and several other folks in our party said the same thing. And I would strongly suggest this lady get a job where she does not have to deal with the public. Really not impressed!!

Rude and very unfriendly atmosphere is all I have for my one and only encounter. Im not sure how to rate this lower than 0. Came in on a Sunday afternoon with my wife to celebrate a "date" night. Was immediately greeted by an extraordinarily noisy ambiance of about only 30 people talking. It was like being in TGI Fridays on a weekend where you couldnt hear. The walls just seemed to bounce every bit of noise off. We sat at a small table and pondered our surroundings. And waited for someone to come around with menus or a water or a beer or something. We continued waiting and watching for about 15 minutes without ever even being spoken to. Both waitresses acknowledged us - one sat down and had a beer and started texting and the other joined a group of friends and started drinking. Nobody ever approached us. There were no menus at the bar. We left. I am appalled by any establishment that would treat people so poorly.

Bought a keg off this place a couple years back and it went completely off...vinegar off! This happened about a month after purchase, which has never happened before or since with any other supplier. When I contacted them, they responded that the keg was nearly 7 months old when they sold it to me. This is way past the industry standard of 119 days being the shelf life of beer to be sold. Although they said they stood behind their beer, they did not offer any kind of refund, discount etc against a future keg.....in fact I got no further response at all. I would never buy their beer again or patronize their establishment. Sorry, but the way a company responds to a problem tells me everything I need to know about the way they do business.

Id have rated this place better a few years ago but I think they are beginning to slide. The wait for food can be bearable but, it is increasingly out of hand, so its no longer a lunch time option for me. The food itself vacillates wildly between great and poor, and there is nothing original on the menu. Additionally the wait staff is at least good, but can be a little off putting at times, but a few bright spots salvage it. What is NOT acceptable however is the inconsistency of the beers. The quality and flavor of the brews has been changing. For that, there can be no excuse or defense!!! To sum it all up, this place is consistently inconsistent.

Horrible customer service, went there today and our waiter 25is Hispanic was completely rude and had nothing but eye rolls and snide comments. we brought family from out of town and a member of our party asked for a substitution and her reply was usually we do substitutions but today Im not. I did like how our waiter took a bet with a co-worker if our kid was going to spill his soda, the waiter picked heads and the co-worker worker tails. Complete lack of professionalism, I will not recommend this place to anyone who wants decent service. I would love for the owner to call me personally so I can discuss my visit in further detail.

Ive eaten here many times and have never been disappointed in the food or the beer. On a busy night, youll sometimes get slow service, but once you get your food, its always worth it! Huge fan of the garlic fries, squirrel burger and cob gobler. Ive been there a couple during the week when they had music - nothing has ever been terrible in my opinion. The only downside is that there is sometimes difficult to hold a conversation when music is there due to the size of the restaurant. Also, on busy nights the seating is limited - this is a great problem for them to have.

The fries and buffalo wings are crispy and hot and beautiful! At this point in the year (summer) there are plenty of choices for beer. 2 IPAs. a Red, an ESB, 2 Wheats, a Brown, an Amber, a Porter, several stouts, and even a scotch ale. The service is friendly, the dining area and restrooms are immaculately clean. The choices on the menu are basically pub food, but arrive hot and in good shape. Growlers are available for anything not bottled. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, the beer, and the atmosphere!

This is a true brew pub. The only one in Albany and among the best microbrews in the industry. Its small, if there is a one person venue it is very pleasant, if there is a band, it is very loud, too loud for my taste. They serve food but not a full kitchen yet, soon to be one though. Kids are welcome until 3pm by state law and no playing darts with the kids, again Oregon law. I like to think of this place as a good coffee shop that serves microbrew instead of coffee. Awesome!

What a disappointment. Bad service, frozen beef patties, poor training and attention to detail, all led to the worst burger I have had outside of a hospital. The house rootbeer was good, and really well priced compared to other breweries. But it is a dirty dive, poorly staffed, so unless you are there for the few house signature beers, go to block 15 in corvallis, Hell, go to cidiccis pizza for a better burger.

Finally a real place in Albany! Great beer and an industrial setting. Albany seems determined to recreate itself as a Disneyland of percived historical relavence. Since it is 2008 and the real number of structures with historical significance in Albany are few, I say, get over it! At Calapooia Brewing you will find no lace, potpourri or fake dolls, just good beer and a refreshing approach.

We stopped here for dinner while driving up i-5, based on the great reviews, and we were not disappointed! The food was very good, and the beer was delicious. They had a large selection of beers on tap, including their own and others. The only negative was the noise level, but the waitress told us she would quiet people down if we needed, and it WAS a Saturday night...
