This was my first time at Café Madrid and definitely won’t be the last. We were a group of seven and were there for my fiancée’s mother’s birthday. We all had the best time all night. We never felt rushed and the servers all seemed to be genuinely concerned with our group’s enjoyment. Our main server was very polite and knowledgeable about the menu and helped us select some tapas before our main courses arrived. He also helped us to find two wines which turned out to be incredible and which paired perfectly with our meal. My favorite tapas were a combination of bacon wrapped shrimp sautéed in a seasoned cream sauce and the imported Butifarro sausages done in a sweet and tangy fig sauce. The flavors absolutely overtake your taste buds! When our main courses were brought to the table, I have to admit that I was a bit unsure if I had ordered correctly. All of the dishes looked delicious but, after I tried my Sea Bass, I knew I had ordered just fine. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the fish was prepared flawlessly. The comments from around the table were equally positive and my fiancée is convinced that his Lamb Shank was the best he has ever had. At the end of our meal, we were so full that we only ordered three desserts to split. When our desserts arrived, our waiter announced an old Spanish birthday tradition which included celebratory music and shooting fruit juice (traditionally wine) from a bota bag directly into my mother in law’s mouth for 12 seconds. Of course this special treatment is optional but she absolutely loved it and has talked about it for the last four days! With our desserts, our waiter brought us plenty of spoons so that we could all sample each one. In what seemed like no time at all, three hours had passed and we were all very satisfied with our meal and with the perfect choice of restaurant we had just experienced. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we had been transported to Spain and were dining in our host’s home! The food was excellent, the service was equally impressive and the beauty of this restaurant’s décor is truly uncommon. Thank you for the perfect meal in the perfect place. We will see you again soon!

If you like bland, overpriced, inauthentic food with a side of arrogance, this is the place for you...It is difficult to compress two hours disappointment, but here is my best attempt....Most disappointing meal/service I have had in years. We went for Valentines Day, and the experience was awful. Our server was rude, inattentive, and had no knowledge of the menu. His exact words were "the menu is new to me and you are as familiar with it as I am." The food was $69 per person for a price fixed appetizer, entrée, and desert menu which seemed very reasonable for a fine dining experience (which we did not receive). We started the meal with a disappointing amuse bouche that was a green olive and pimento from a jar on top of a square of cinnamon raisin bread with a little Spanish ham on top. My wifes appetizer course of bacon wrapped shrimp and Spanish sausage was very good and the high point of the meal. When our entrées came, my wifes duck was over-cooked and she did not eat it--she made a point of ordering it mid-rare and got mid-well. My short ribs were overcooked and so dried out I left a significant amount on my plate. Throughout our nearly two hours meal--the last 30+ minutes with our partially eaten meals pushed to the side--we were basically ignored by our server despite making several polite attempts to get his attention as he walked by us multiple times without slowing down. Multiple tables that were seated after us completed their meal, paid, and left before our uneaten plates were cleared. We finally got the owners attention and let him know about our experience and asked for our check (he then argued with us about how our experience was not typical) and it took us another 15 minutes to get out the door. He "graciously" took ten dollars off our $185 bill because we skipped the desert course...since my wife did not get to eat dinner we had to go through a drive through because she was still hungry, the quality of that meal was much better than our meal at Cafe Madrid.

Ive been here a couple times now, once several years ago in their old location and recently on a date with my wife at the current location. The atmosphere is beautifully immaculate both inside and out. The wine / food selection is excellent. The sangria was fantastic - just as good as I remembered from my previous visit. I loved the tapas we ordered. The crispy Brussel sprouts were very charred - almost burned but it somehow added to the flavor in a positive way. The croquetas were great. I wasnt quite as thrilled with the duck and lamb entrees we ordered. But this is mostly due to the fact that I dont ordinarily order gamey items like duck and Im not a huge fan to begin with. But we wanted to be adventurous. My wife said the lamb and port sauce reminded her of Campbells beef vegetable soup - which through the power of suggestion almost ruined it for me... almost. But it was still good. The vegetables served with the entrees were truly amazing. Dessert was also super tasty. We ordered both the rice pudding and flan (which was probably my favorite). Even though we were super full, we still finished them. So overall, not a place I would frequent, but if youre in the mood for Spanish cuisine, Id definitely recommend Cafe Madrid for a nice relaxing date.

We ate at cafe gaudi for lunch(and posting here since its the same buillding and maps doesnt find anything except Madrid). Seeing how busy they usually were we had been wanting to try this cafe for a long time. The service was good but we were extremely disappointed in the food. My boyfriend had the riser on a croissant and a half chicken salad. I ordered a bowl of the "homemade chicken noodle soup" the half chicken salad and a coffee. The chicken salad had a strangely sweet taste, and didnt even taste as if there was chicken in it. Nothing in the salad seemed to even have a texture of chicken; It was more of a potato salad than anything. My boyfriend said that his sandwich was actually really good which happened to be the only decent thing in our experience. As for my supposed hommeade chicken noodle soup, it tasted as if they opened a can of Campbells chicken soup for kids, put in a little cheese to change the taste of the broth, potatoes, corn and some seasoning. As for the coffee, they offered it with steamed milk and sugar. Unfortunately the coffee was luke warm.I even asked for a second cup thinking it may just be the first one. Once again the coffee was luke warm. I dont think either of us have been more disappointed on a $32 lunch date.

I went here with my bf for a special night it was a 4 course meal about $80 i was okay with it since we wanted a fine dining experince. Our server was great and treated us well. When i got my salad it tasted terriable how do you mess up with salad it was old or packaged salad. I got a soup with noodles and it had no flavor. My main course wasnt flovorless. Our dessert was the best of it all. It was over priced and it was flavorless. This is my worst experince at any restraunt since the food wasnt even edible. This would be ok if this was a dennys. Im suprized there isnt more bad reviews since everyone around us wasnt happy and were as disappoint ed as we were. We paid and didnt make a big deal but we agreed never to go here and i always tell everyone do not go here. I believe that most of the reviews are fake. We went to eat at drive thru after wards since we were still hungry. All i can say is if your paying 200$ for dinner it should be amazing and i shiuld leave wanting more not wishing it had flavor.
