The first time I went to Roots Cafe, my husband and I both found hair in our food on each of our plates. We let them know and they discounted the food. I was impressed with their willingness to try to compensate for the dissatisfaction since we found it was kindof too late to ask for another plate. Because of their willingness to please the customer and the menu, I came back at another time. The second time I went, no problems. Was just there today and once again I found a hair in my food. It is such a turn off and I just cant stomach coming back. Its sad because I like the atmosphere and menu. They need to take better precautions on hair when cooking and serving food.

Will not be going back. Saw the great reviews this restaurant received and took my family to try it. Waitress didnt seem to be all there. Forgot one of my sons food and had to go back and have it made while our food was already at the table. Got another order wrong, ordered bacon for a side and got ground beef instead. The redeeming quality that got this place two stars from me is there was a guy who worked there that was extremely courteous and their tea was pretty dang good. Overall very unsatisfied with the bloated reviews this place received from their regulars.

The first time we came here on a Saturday morning and didnt expect the wait time to be 30 minutes. So we left without being able to taste the food. But the aroma and presentation of the food from the tables had made our mouths watered. We came back the following day and had the right expectation of waiting time. The service was good. Definitely ask to sit outside on a nice day. My favorite is the Egg Benni with smoked salmon and arugula. Their pancake has a really nice texture and tastes good. The price is reasonable too! Will definitely come back.

Excellent food from 7 AM - 3 PM every day! Wendy is a master at making a restaurant cozy & delicious. I like the "Roots of the day" breakfast that comes with GREAT creative "Pancake of the day" and GREAT home fries with onions. The easiest to digest coffee - super tasty! and 2 Eggs & Bacon or veggie sausage. For lunch their blue bacon burger is GREAT with a side salad with the perfect lite dressing. I hope the best for this place.. regardless that I dont have time to go very often...

Incredible. Everything here is perfect! Wonderful service w/the most amazing breakfast. I am super sensitive to processed foods and this place is the only restaurant that has NEVER bothered my stomach. They are also super accommodating with all of my allergies. Their buckwheat pancakes, veggie sausage, juice bar, espresso bar are all perfect. Creative and delicious recipes, and wonderful location. Plus the Old Flamingo is next door and it is absolutely adorable!

Went for Sunday brunch. It was pretty busy. About a 50 min. wait. There is a little eclectic / vintage store ,(the old flamingo), attached to look around while you wait. I had the B&G (biscuits & gravy) and it was one of the best I have ever had. I got it with the hand made sausage & scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese. It is something I will crave. Roots cafe is definitely a new regular in the rotation of weekend breakfast spots. I recommend checking it out.

Breakfast is 5 stars, lunch is o.k. I got a sandwich and it wasnt anything special. I got my son a pancake and it was amazing. We will come back for brunch. Service was o.k. Our server was on top of making sure our drinks were full, but another server gave me attitude when I said "when you get a chance, can you get me an extra plate". She replied by saying "I only have 2 hands, so youll have to wait a sec". Unnecessary attitude.

We tried this cafe last Sunday morning and we really loved it, they have outside sitting (kind of from patio) and its amazing, the inside its las bell of small so if you like sunny days and outsides its better to have a table out. The food its very good, organic and healthy options, looks like they use Utah products supporting local farmers. Totally recommended!

Went to lunch by a recommendation from a friend. Small cafe and you may run into a wait if you come at peak times. The menu selection is large and there are so many great options. Hard to pick what to get. I love that I can get breakfast anytime while they are open. The food tastes amazing. I will def be coming back.

Although busy pretty much all the time. The place makes a great place to eat and chit chat. I love the fact that the waiters are attentive but not clingy. The food is always wonderful and we try to get here during the weekdays where the waiting list is smaller and we always get a pretty nice seating spot.

Unique flavors and deliciously fresh food! They have different flavors of pancakes than you would usually find. The food was good and the outdoor seating atmosphere was pleasant. It gets a little crowded and loud during the lunch rush but other then that is is quiet and a nice lunch spot.

Ive been here several times and its never disappointed. Wide selection of food and several options for those with special dietary needs. Great place for Sunday brunch! It does get quite busy and there isnt a lot of staying, so expect a 20-30 min wait of youre going during busy hours.

I had heard great things about this cafe so close to my home. I had to try it and I loved it! I am vegetarian and the food was delicious! The servers were very cheerful. My son is not a vegetarian and he could not get over the flavors. I am going back.

Food is very good, all fresh. Currently my favorite breakfast place in Slc. I havent eaten lunch but it looks good. Servers are nice but I consistently have to ask to refill my coffee and water. All I really want a server to do is keep my glass full

I went to brunch at Roots Cafe yesterday and it was obvious that it was a popular and favorite due to a 30 minute wait. It was well worth the wait. The service was outstanding and my meal was delicious. This will be one of my new favorite places to go.

Roots Cafe has delicious healthy food and freshly made drinks. My favorite is the Peeto Sandwich and the Roots Of The Day. On a summer day the Beet Juice is very refreshing. The ice tea is also very well made. The wait staff is friendly and polite.

Roots is by far my favorite breakfast place in the valley. Its absolutely delicious and fresh every time we go. The pancake of the day is always amazing so I suggest trying it even if the flavors dont sound like something youd like; youll like it.

If you are a fan of casual Sunday brunches and patio dining, youll love this place. Its cute and casual. There are lots of healthy options on the menu. Definitely one of the top five best places for relaxed outdoor dining and delicious entrees.

My favorite place for breakfast in SLC, and honestly in all of Utah. Phenomenal eggs benedict, and the pancake of the day is always a must!! I havent had a single thing here that has been a disappointment, and the service is always great.
