I, too, would agree that the staff at Blue Star seemed put out that they had to wait on a customer. My daughter and I each ordered a sandwich and two 16 oz detox juices to go because I was on my way to work. We were told they were out of avocado. Disappointing, but not that big of deal. After being rang up on a system that makes you feel obligated to give a tip before receiving your food if you do not happen to have cash on you, I pushed the 15% tip and my total came to $36. Two gluten free sandwiches and two 16 oz juices. Wow. The juices came out and they looked great. Then the sandwiches came out and I wondered how a sandwich that was literally 4"x4"x1/2" could pissibly cost $7?...but, I left trusting that on my way to work that that $16 meal (the juice was $8) would prove it was worth the unfriendly service and $36 that I paid in total. Tip included. When I opened my sandwich it had 4 leaves of spinach, a very sad slice of tomato, and two slices of apple between two slices of the most pathetic excuse for gluten free bread I have seen. That was it! I thought well, maybe it tastes better than it looks. Nope. No flavor. No sauce. No salt. Nothing. Thank God it came with a tiny bag of chips. My daughter sitting next to me was also shocked. So, she opened her sandwich. Repeat above description. Just add egg. She took one bite and said she had never tasted anything that bad before. So, I took a bite hoping maybe it was just bland. Nope. I have no idea how you can take a sandwich with such simple ingredients and make it taste that terrible? The juices were also disappointing. They were clearly missing some ingredients. I am not the type of person to complain and I have been to this place to get juice on several other occasions, but had not been there in about a year and back then it was good. I dont know if it has switched ownership or it was an off day or if its just gone downhill, but the fact that I am taking the time to write this review means that I am very frustrated. I wish I had still been at the establishment instead of on my way to work to voice to them that I deserve my money back after being served such a deplorable meal for $36. There are way better options out there for flavorful healthy vegetarian fare for a much more reasonable price.

I visited for the first time last weekend--I was not overly impressed. I gave two stars because of the ambiance. The drinks are incredibly overpriced. I didnt bother to check the prices prior to ordering because I didnt think 16-24 oz juices would cost so much. We ordered four drinks, one of them was a small apple juice for my two-year old--the total was $36, not including tip. I realize these are freshly juiced drinks, but wow! For the price I was expecting a flavor explosion in my mouth, but truthfully, the drinks were bland. My daughter who typically loves smoothies and juices took one sip and couldnt drink anymore. In addition to the high prices, the service we received was sub-par. After ordering we waited almost 25 minutes for our drinks. Initially there were two employees behind the counter, after we ordered one of them disappeared, leaving the other to make our drinks and tend to the other 3-4 guests that came in shortly after us. In fairness to the length of time it took to make our drinks, the other employee sure chose an awful time to leave.

Dear George, What have you done? I have loved this coffee shop for many years but sadly over the past few months the customer service has gone down the drain. I used to love all the employees there and it was welcoming to come in each morning. Now, the employees seem annoyed by customers, they have no personality at all and they all seem to dread being at work. The moral is at an all time low. I used to come in, get a coffee and a bagel, sit and read on the couches. But now you have turned it into a business area...No couches, just uncomfortable chairs and tables. This is so sad because now I have to find another coffee shop and I was in love with this one. Guess we are breaking up... Also, the coffee was hands down my favorite in the city, now I feel like Im wasting money on gross coffee sold to me by cranky employees. Its also great that my punch card was thrown away when it had many juice and coffee punches on it. And when I asked about it the girl just stared at me like I was a speaking another language.

We have been going to Blue Star at Canyon Rim since they opened.... We loved the ambiance and the coffee and the care the owner put into the place. But in recent months things have gotten bad For example: on Mothers Day 2015. We went there to get three lattes and a chocolate milk. There were maybe 6 total customers there other than the four of us. 30 minutes after we ordered, the staff asked me if I am ready to order In the mean time, some one who had just come in for an espresso just got his drink The staff then pretended that our drinks were being made...where there was obviously no sign of any espresso drinks in the works I asked for our money back and we left after that without any drinks This was an experience that has become typical since the beginning of 2015. We like the owner and would hate to see his business go down the drain because of the very poor service (not to mention the lack of efficiency) we have come to dread.

Customer service or self serve? Ive spent almost 10 years working specifically in Coffee, juice & smoothies. Every time I come here I want to have a good experience but every time the staff makes it near impossible. The last time I was here I nearly walked my butt behind the counter to see where the hell the employees were, instead I just yelled at them after hearing laughing. My food was wrong because the girl was too distracted by her own bad work ethic and my juice tasted bland. The two cost me nearly $18!! No I didnt tip. To do what this business is trying to do, the owner needs to invest in his employees more or do it himself. If your employees actually want to get paid they need to know how to work. Down the street is a great locally owned ma & pa cafe that does everything blue star wishes they could. Go to Roots Cafe instead youll pay the same price get 100x better quality food & drinks and have table service.

Ever since I started coming here, I have always felt like I was home. They always have a smile on their face, and Mercedes is always more than happy to put up with my peculiar demands on Dirty Santas, which is my new favorite drink! The best part is that its really close to where I work! They are dog friendly which is great for our community since we do have a lot of dog walkers, and when you walk in, it feels like you just walked into memories from when you were a kid. I will NEVER go anywhere else!

The last two times Ive been there they either made my coffee wrong or it taste absolutely horrible. The first time they made it incorrectly I let them know and they made me another one which was great. Last time I ordered the same thing and it taste horrid I let them know that something was wrong with it and they just brought me back the same coffee that was originally given to me. I couldnt drink it because it was so disgusting. I wont be ordering coffee there again.
