I ate my dinner today there, it was the most horrible food Ive ever ate, first the service was really SUCKS! unfriendly with us, they just act good with the people they know i think or it depends on their !@#$ing mood :)! , we ordered veggie sambusa served COLD! and IT WASNT even VEGGIE! I know what is veggie sambusa really well ! but what they served us is just the most horrible thing! and the meat sambusa were hot so this differences only shows that the veggie one were not even cocked! then the white rice with little chicken arrived after waiting for a looong time... it was just below the normal ! and guess what ? it costed me 19$ it didnt even worth 5$ , side effects ? yes my stomach hurting my right now ! and hurt burn ! i just hope this restaurant close ASAP its against the environment!

We ate the best Ethiopian food weve ever tasted at African Restaurant last night. Dont be fooled by the name; this is a table service restaurant, not a mini-mart with take-out. We had the combo dinner, with beef and vegetable dishes served on injera on a large platter. All of the dishes were delicious and the presentation was lovely. Both beef dishes were perfectly tender and exquisitely spiced. The vegetable dishes included several we had never seen before with beets, boiled eggs, and cheese, as well as the more common lentils, collard greens, cabbage and others. All were fantastic. The injera was tender with a wonderful sour-dough flavor. We will definitely eat here again as soon as possible.

Very very good food! Ive never had anything I knew to be Ethiopian or African style dishes. It was awesome. A group of us shared the combo meal and the different items were FABULOUS. The beef was lean and tender, the lentils were spicy and awesome. I dont like veggies all that much but even the vegetable dishes were good. You dont have to be overly adventurous to try this place. You just need to go...you WILL enjoy it thoroughly.

BEYOND DELICIOUS!! My husband and I first tried Ethiopian food in San Diego because of my husbands comment that Im predictable in food so to surprise him and prove him wrong I found an Ethiopian restaurant! We became addicted ever since! We were really happy that we found this one up in SLC! It is so yummy that you will be coming back for sure! Ask them if they have honey wine available, it is delish!

Delicious food and traditional African feel. This is a great place to get an idea of what African food is like. The restaurant is low key and relaxed, the food is served family style and you eat with your hands which adds to the fun. This restaurant is great for those who truly love new and exotic types of foods and safe for the more timid food lover.

I ate here a few weeks ago (end of January) -- the food was excellent -- we got there just after they opened at 11am, and the upstairs was pretty cold during our meal -- which is why my review is 4 stars only, it was a bit uncomfortable -- but we were very happy with the food :). The service was very good as well.

I liked it here, and the food was great. My only complaint is that the food took a long time to get to us. However, that just means its fresh right? It was clean inside, and there was plenty of parking. Highly recommended.

I didnt actually eat the food here, but I picked up food to be delivered. The owner/server/chef did it all by herself. And the food came out smelling delicious. I cant wait to come back and try the food.
