Im going to be significantly honest in this review. For those who like this restaurant, I wont judge you for your choices. But for those who have never been here before, let me fill you with a little wisdom before you decide to go or not. For the price that you would pay here I would recommend you find the nearest panda express. You wont be disappointed in the taste or the ingredients used. Plus youd save the wait time. The quality of rib that I bit into was so bad that I had to question if it was real meat. Mind you this was only the appetizer that came out from the sampler plate that was brought out. The sampler platter for the family dinner package consisted of two breaded and fried shrimps (pretty good size, probably the best thing I ate that day on my visit), two eggrolls which were most likely frozen while they fried it since the texture inside of the eggrolls were all mushy (worst part was they were vegetable eggrolls), 2 mystery items which turned out to be seasoned pork cooked in aluminum foil, and 4 fried wonton wrappers. The soup was edible but lacked any flavor (how does one mess up eggdrop soup?). I ordered the 4 treasures in a love nest which turned out exactly how I imagined it would look. Only issue I had with that was that it comes with scallops and 3 other meats (shrimp, chicken, pork) but I didnt see a single scallop. Not even the ridiculously small kind youd find at olive garden. Nothing, not a single one. When I asked the server, he came back and told me that they had run out of scallops and instead gave me extra shrimp........ all without letting me know beforehand or even asking if that was okay. I had 2 bites of my girlfriends "sezuan" (spelled wrong on my part) chicken which lacked any flavor at all. I have never had such bad chinese food before and Ive lived in 4 of them. Heck for the quality of food I got here I was better off going to a Chinese buffet since at least that would be better tasting. Only thing saving this place from getting a 1 star rating is that the service wasnt bad. Thats it. Our server seemed like a decent human being and accommodated our needs and concerns as best as he could. Overall Id skip this place if I were you. Ive travelled China and eaten the local food, this doesnt compare even in the slightest.

Ive eaten at Golden Dynasty nearly every week for over ten years now and throughout that time the food and service have been consistently excellent. I can usually judge the quality of a Chinese restaurant by the Hot and Sour soup and Golden Dynastys is deliciously authentic. Actually, all of the menu items that I have eaten are quite tasty. I especially like the entrees such as Twice Cooked Pork that use the dark Szechuan garlic sauce. Another item on the lunch menu that is surprisingly good is the Chicken Lo Mein ( order it spicy). Lunch specials are relatively inexpensive and come with soup, egg roll and fried rice. Service is very quick and the food stays hot until the last bite. The night menu contains a rich combination of family-style chicken, pork and seafood entrees as well as a menu combination dinners that include soup, egg roll, wonton, fried shrimp and fried rice. The number of different sauces and flavors used on the various entree items is impressive - more than the two or three that many restaurants seem to use. Over the years I have tried most of the entree choices and all that I have tried have been excellent. In my opinion Golden Dynasty is definitely the best Chinese food in the area.

My review will not be regarding my dining experience; it is about a phone call I made to this restaurant and the response I received. I called and simply asked the man if he could check to see if my credit card had been left at the restaurant near the cash register where I had paid. He said "Oh, I dont think your credit card is here if you left it a week ago." I said, "I havent even given you my name, how would you know if it was or wasnt there?" He said, "Well, we just have so many cards and usually people come in the next day or so and pick it up." I told him the card had been missing less than seven days and I just remembered the last place I used it was in this restaurant. He said he would take my name and number and give me a "call back" if he found it, right ... like thats ever going to happen, since hes not even going to bother to look! Its my CREDIT CARD!!! Im just saying...maybe, I dont know--he could take a couple of minutes out of his day to help a customer out!

Waiters arent very nice and kinda pushy...No egg drop soup, and no refills on soft drinks. My soup bowl was significatly smaller then my girlfriends. Her main dish came out atleast 5minutes before mine, the sweet and sour chicken was super sweet and there was very little chicken compared to how much bread there was, my girlfriend got the chicken low mein and it was surprisingly good. The eggrolls are lukewarm, and gooey inside...Bathrooms are super creepy, no paper towel dispenser. It uses the old hand dryers that were removed from restaurants because of sanitation reasons.

Golden Dynasty is our new favorite lunch spot in Ogden. I enjoyed the Kung Pao Chicken on the lunch menu. I love a great KPC dish, with a side of hot soup of your choice, ham fried rice and an egg roll. The lunch menu offered a real value for the fresh made Chinese cuisine at $5.50. The exterior of the establishment is in dire need of some weed control but nothing to keep you away from a delicious meal. (Lets send some Boy Scouts to tackle the weeds.)

Its was just that " Just Ok" had the chicken lo mien, I couldnt hardly find the chicken. They serve the lo mien with the large spaghetti noodles instead of th thinner rice noodles, I didnt care for it. Also had a order of shrimp, extremely doughy. I might be back. The pork fried rice was good and the sweet and sour pork looked good that someone else ordered.

Golden Dynasty is a good lunch/dinner spot. Been coming here for years with my family for lunches. The food is very good, portions and pricing are good but the atmosphere is average at best. Oh well, if your are going to G.D. you are likely not going for the ambiance so who cares how it looks right? One of the better Chinese in Ogden.

Its just OK, they bearly put any meat on there plates. I got my girls beef and broccoli and they got more broccoli then beef. I got the chicken low main and there was only a little bit of chicken in it as well. I live across the street and it sucks when they have people come clean there carpets at 10 pm till like 1 in the morning

The 1 star really ruined this business overall feedback and was unfair I think. Great service, very friendly people, Ive been going there since they opened. Great hot and sour soup, very fair lunch special prices - try the pon pon chicken, the asparagus special with brown sauce, and really any lunch special is great also.
