I came here for the first time with my group of friends. We were on a trip together and decided this would be a nice place to eat because of all the good reviews my friends have heard. One of my friends called in a couple days before our trip to make a reservation for 12 people. They took our reservation and we thought everything was set. We got there exactly at 6PM to get seated, but we werent seated for 15 minutes. We all came to the conclusion that they forgot about our reservation because when we were finally seated, we were seated at a big table that seemed kind of out of place and in the middle of no where. We were seated at an open table at the front of the restaurant. Everyone that walked by would just stare at us and that table was just an uncomfortable place to be... The left side of the table wobbled a lot too. There was something wrong with the bench. There were two baskets of tortilla chips, but there was no salsa. We just sat there confused. As a waiter was walking by, he finally told us that there was a salsa bar available in the room. By then, we hadnt even met our waitress yet. We just sat there eating our salsa and chips. There was a wide variety of sauces and they were delicious! Our waitress finally came and gave us our menus. We looked it over and were ready to order. She came by a little afterwards and took our orders. We continued to wait for our food. By the time we were finally seated and given our food, we had waited a full hour. We got there by 6PM and we finally started eating at 7PM. The food was pretty good. I shared a Carnitas Burrito with my friend, Annika. It came with two small burritos, beans, rice, sour cream, and guacamole. I was expecting black beans, but they were refried beans, which was fine. Its just the beans were never specified. Im fine with either, but prefer black beans. We had all asked for extra plates to share our food, but we werent given those and we couldnt ask again because she never came back after she gave us our food. We were fine with sharing the plate, but the problem was that we barely saw the waitress. Everything took forever. We had finished eating and we were never given refills on our water until we were done eating. My group finally received our checks and to our surprise, they had forced gratuity on to us. One of my biggest pet peeves is when there is terrible service, but they force 20% gratuity. Gratuity should be given, not forced. It might have been forced because we were a big group or that we looked young, but to have it already on the check was just disappointing. Also, when I gave her my cash, she asked if I wanted my change and yes of of course I want my change! Your gratuity was already included in the check. The managers kept coming by and talking to us. They were very nice, especially the lady manager. It made the mood a little better :)

In response to Robin to Jodie U.s review: Im her husband and did my own review on your Facebook Page as we were together for this dinner. By the way shes not a complainer so its a rare review for her. Im the outspoken one. Here is my take for whatever its worth! Yes your manager ( 50s or so Mexican Man slender build ) came out to speak with us as I had to get up to find an employee to ask for the manager because of the food. The items in question were: 1-Chicken Enchilada Deep Fried Result: Chicken was dry/tough and the red sauce on top was not very good which the manager could clearly see that it wasnt really even eaten. 2- Caesar Salad: it looked as if it would be delicious but upon tasting it we found that the dressing was bland and just didnt taste very good at all. In our daughters words; " Well it didnt taste very good but I thought if I kept eating it, it might taste better" pure innocence and honesty from a 10 year old right there. When I explained my wifes food the manager seemed fair and reasonable but when I mentioned the salad, he sorta looked upset. He said, what do you mean, look at the salad it looks fresh and good and nobody else has complained about the salad. I then politely responded and said, well I agree that it looks fresh and delicious but it doesnt taste like it to us. I was not looking to argue and he really wasnt either. It was a pretty calm conversation which was good. He then said he would refund the money for both Chimichangas, ( wife had chicken I had carne asada) which were $10.95 and $13.95. I said ok fair enough. He then offered to throw in dessert which I declined but my wife and 2 kids said yes too which was thoughtful. Well when he came back he gave me a receipt that showed a (credit of $19.85) which was for the: Caesar Salad $6.95 Niños Quesadilla Meal $5.50 Coca-Cola ([email protected]) = $5.85 Sub Total $18.30 Tax 1.53 Total $19.85 Never was I credited for either Chimichanga and I even questioned him in the Bakery when leaving. I found it bizarre that Im told I would be refunded for the both chimichangas but neither amount was credited which of course are a higher amount. In your comments to my wife you said you offer a FULL REFUND or an alternative meal. We were NEVER offered one, period and we were refunded for something different. I have both receipts I can provide you or show you a photo. Maybe I post in your photo section so you can see them. Ive eaten at many Mexican food places after living in Arizona for 31 years and now Utah for 10 and I always believe in being fair to any restaurant in my reviews etc. We are local and we love eating out and sharing our experiences with friends and others. I have handful of local friends that live in Heber City, Park City and Deer Valley. I did enjoy your Chip & Salsa Bar it had an excellent assortment of choices.

Inappropriate arrogance. This is my first review and my experience prompted me to create this account. I took my family out for lunch here today and experienced the most unacceptable form of hospitality. Near the end of our lunch both my daughters (8 and 11) went to the restroom at separate times. Once they returned they said that a teenage boy had entered the girls bathroom while they were using it to fix the paper towel dispenser. So as a concerned parent I stepped away from the table and located the owner and explained how inappropriate the behavior was and that they should correct the employee immediately. The owner apologized and said he would handle it and walked away. I thought that was the end of the conversation and walked back to my table collected my family and walked back to my car. As I was getting in my car the owner came back out into the parking lot to give me additional clarification on the issue. He wanted to let me know that a female staff member was with him at the time. Now I try to be understanding but on what planet does that make this situation acceptable. He then proceeded to tell me that he wanted me to know all the information as if it caused my girls to be any less violated. I told him that I didnt give a "s$@*" and that this was completely inappropriate. He then lost it on me telling me that he came out here to make it right and that I was out of line for swearing at him. I then spent the next 5 minutes banging my head against the wall trying to hit home that male staff members should never walk into the ladies restroom while it is being used. What a joke! This place used to be great and the service used to be amazing. They have raised the prices and reduced the portions. 3 kids meals, 2 burritos, and 1 chicken torta can be yours for $55.10. Just make note that is it completely acceptable to violate your privacy the owner is ok with it.
