The Herriman, UT location should really be shut down. It is hurting the brand image of Cafe Rio. I was in a line of six people at 8:50pm to order a to go item. I left the location at 9:34pm holding my order in my hands because they didnt have bags. I watched two employees sweep the same area of the kitchen for twenty minutes. There were two people working on the production line with 9 people total in the kitchen area. The manager was nowhere to be found. While paying, the cashier inexplicably decided he needed to get something from a shelf behind the register. In doing this he pulled a box of gift cards over and they spilled everywhere. The two employees that were sweeping laughed about it rather than help him pick them up, which I had to wait for him to do. The food area looked like it hadnt been cleaned or organized in a week. I watched an employee overfill the bin of pico to the point that it ran into all the other bins surrounding it. The vibe the staff gives off is that they are going out of their way to mess things up and they dont care. This location is consistently (at least for the three times Ive been there this year) not only the worst Cafe Rio I have ever been to but literally the worst food service place I have ever visited. If this is a corporate owned Cafe Rio it is in dire need of new management immediately. If it is a franchise location efforts should be taken to distance Cafe Rio from the owner/operator as quickly as possible.

Wow... We love Cafe Rio but do not come to the Herriman location until something changes. We came on a Tuesday night and were met with a long line. No biggie. We are used to waiting in lines here. I was eagerly anticipating the daily special: coconut shrimp tacos. We finally got to the front of the line and they were out of the special. It was just past 7 pm! Oh well. So I ordered a chicken salad. When I asked for extra lettuce the lady put a tiny bit extra on and looked annoyed when I asked for a little more. I only get lettuce, salsa, and limes on my salad... When we got to the checkout we had filled our frequent dinner card but the girl didnt give us a new one for our purchased meals before turning to the next customers. The ice and napkins were almost completely depleted. Garages were overflowing, tables were dirty. I had a big piece of chicken fat and... A ROCK in my salad. That didnt feel good on my teeth. When I brought it up to the manager he was very nice about out and gave me another free meal card but... We will be taking it to a different location. Well be going to South Jordan from now on.

Long Time customer of Cafe Rio, in fact tonight I bought my order using my redemption card of 10 prior purchases Last night Nov 3rd, with few people in line ( 8 to 10 ) it took forever to get my Order, not enough employees. Upon finishing my Sweet Pork Salad, with in minutes my stomach was feeling something was not right, this turned into Cramps and what followed for the next hour was Diarrhea. Nov 4th I called to talk to a manager about what I experienced and to share there my have been a problem with their food last Night. Valeria who answered the phone was very Polite , she ask if i could hold, which i agreed when she came back she shared the manager wanted me to call back after 2pm they were slammed, Valerie then asked what the problem was to which I shared, she seem actually concerned and asked what I wanted ? I told here I wanted nothing more then to tell the Manager I think they had a Problem with their food last Night. This Cafe Rio location just LOST a regular customer. Looking at the Sub Standard reviews here on Google its Obvious this Cafe Rio Location has Major ISSUES

We typically enjoy Cafe Rio but since we moved to Herriman we have had the unfortunate experience of visiting the location in Herriman. The service there is so slow, both to go orders and in-house, and the staff barely acknowledge your presence when you come in. One time we went in and there were only two people in front of us. It took us near 20 minutes to finally get our order correct and to sit down and start eating. They have gotten several of our orders wrong and Im pretty sure the manager of this store has difficulty organizing and hiring competent staff. We have on several occasions now traveled all the way to South Jordan or Draper just to eat at Cafe Rio. Thats how drastic the service and experience is. Please Cafe Rio fix the staff/manager at the Herriman location for all of us Cafe Rio lovers in Heriman. If the staff is treated poorly, chances are the service will be poor. This is by far the worst location you have. The food has been okay at this location but with such service it doesnt matter.

I have always liked Cafe Rio food. I looked up the phone number to make a call-in order to this location and saw negative reviews. I called anyway and ordered chicken soup around 4:30 PM- not a busy time. Was told my order would be ready for pickup at 4:55. I was there at 4:54. I was told it wasnt ready, but that it only takes a second (its already made, dont ask me why the pickup was for 25 minutes after the order. Then I stood and waited while the seemingly incompetent staff (by comparison to my experience at other locations) let me soup sit on the counter as they bumbled around being inefficient. Im sure theyre nice folks, but the service was slow. Will not bother ordering there again. After waiting a while after having paid and my soup being a simple 10 seconds of human-labor away, I instead asked for a refund (out of principle). Id rather have canned chicken soup than pay for that. This is why man invented robots.

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced! I am not one to come on these sites and write bad reviews, in fact Ive never done something like this, but our service tonight at the Cafe Rio in Herriman was so bad that I had to make an exception! The wait was about 40 minutes, not because it was busy--no in fact there were open tables all over the place--but because the servers were so clueless as to what they were doing, 2 of them werent even working. The girl who took our order completely messed it up right off the bat, she even told me they were all out of pork, only to find out from the boy who rang us up that there was plenty of pork. I was so upset! To make matter even worse, I wasnt the only unhappy camper this evening, there were several people complaining in line before us and behind us as well. Not a good night for Cafe Rio :(

This is the worst Cafe Rio. I live very close and have been going there for about a year now as I used always go to Costa Vida. The service was ok at first but has taken a steep down turn. The online order of to go orders are never ready on time. In fact, I have waited longer in the restaurant for a to go order that was place 30 minutes prior than I would have if I have just walked in and purchased my food from the line. The last few times have been the last straw for me though. I waited 30 minutes in line...with 5 people in front of me. Last night I went when the line was out the door, busy night I guess. While I stood in line for 15 minutes before I left only 4 people made it though with their food. If I had stayed I would have been in line for 1.5 hours. WONT BE BACK! Costa vida here I come!
