We had a GREAT experience at iHop in Layton, Utah on New Years Day 2016! My wife, our six (6) young wonderful, precious children (ages 14 years to 18 months) and I arrived around 6:15pm and were immediately seated; our order was quickly taken; our drinks were immediately brought to us; and our meals were quickly and accurately delivered! The food and drinks were fresh, hot and delicious! All members of our family had a great experience and we hope you do too! Our waitress, Emily, was very nice to all of us and kept our drinks full and was happy and friendly! Emily did great work and I gave her a big tip to show our appreciation for her. I read the reviews (below) before coming to this iHop and 1) I was surprised because we have always had a good experience there; and 2) since it had been months since we had gone to this iHop we were somewhat concerned (again, due to so many negative reviews). However, as stated above, our experience was great! In fact, my wife and I talked to each other about how surprised we were by the negative reviews because we had great food and great service during our visit. Our big, fun, precious family have always had a good dining experience at this iHop but this one was our best yet! So, give this iHop a chance ask for "Emily W." to be your waitress; she gave us great service. I hope you and/or your family have a great experience like we did!

While the food they brought us was delicious, our stay was not pleasant. It seems as though serving us was on the back burner of our waitresss mind and just wanted us out as soon as possible. She was not friendly, just asked us what she needed to know. She brought us out menus and immediately asked us if we were ready to order. We said no, and she came back about 1 minute later asking again. Again, we were not ready. She also did the same with our check, she brought it to us, came back about 30 seconds later and as I was counting the money in my hand asked if she could take the check. While we were eating, the other staff was very loud. They we yelling to each other their personal conversations that you could hear across the restaurant. One employee was on break watching a music video at full volume behind us. When I asked her to please turn it down, she seemed very annoyed and later snickered to the other girls around her also on break. I was not impressed with the service I received today.

This is absolutely the worst service I have ever received. My husband and I waited in the lobby for five minutes completely ignored before he went to go find an employee, we waited a few more minutes before us and the three groups behind us were seated. We sat down and looked over the menu for 15 minutes and no one came to get our drink order, or even a simple hi, Ill be there in a few. I stood up and saw that the last group that was waiting in the lobby was already getting their drinks (even though we were sat in order and we were the first to arrive) I found the lady that had sat us and told her that we were still waiting, she said that our waiter would be there soon. We waited a few more minutes before deciding to leave. We went to sills cafe, it was extremely busy and had a ton more guests yet they still managed to give excellent service. I will never go back to I hop as this is the 3rd time in the past 6 months I have gone and every time I waited way too long for service.

I didnt know if I was supposed to seat myself or if an employee was supposed to seat me... I was about to seat myself because the customer service lacked SERVICE. There was about 6 employees sitting and huddling in one booth while I was waiting to be seated. One of the employees made eye contact at me, yet it took them another minute to seat me. The food was horrible-- it was either under-cooked or over-cooked... I heard the employees use some vulgar language, and they were super loud- all they did was chit chat in a booth. Ive seen people walk into this iHOP waiting to be seated, and they just got impatient and walked out. I dont even think it bothers the workers there. Horrible place. I never want to go there again. I think I was more mad about the staff than the food. I went to McDonalds after my visit to this iHOP. I got better service at McDonalds than at this iHop.

I have been there twice. The first time a couple years ago and it was ok. Service was alright and food was of normal standards. I was in over the weekend and was appalled at how they were handling things. The kitchen was behind so the wait was longer then "normal" the issue was that instead of seating people and offering drinks and explaining the wait they told costumers they couldnt do that and had to wait in an over crowded lobby. I could see probably 8 open tables. I along with many others walked out due to the response that was given when asked why you cant just seat some people. I hope that management is aware of what happened and uses that scenario as a learning experience for the employees there.

Seriously the worst service ever. I will drive all the way to Kaysville or riverdale before I go here again. And it hasnt just happened once its been numerous times. You stand there forever to be seated. No one gives you drinks or silverware. No one checks on you. Appetizers come out cold with your meal and the majority of the staff has an attitude problem aside from two people we have had wait on us a sweet older lady who I think works nights and a fella from a different country. Ive never had such horrible customer service. What a complete joke! Go check out another breakfast place like sills or moon dogs!

Food is good but service really really really needs improvement. This visit we waited several minutes even though several people walked by us. When were finally seated, we sat there for 18 minutes before anyone offered us a drink. Server did not arrive with the coffee untill we stood up to leave. We stayed, pot of coffee ge had brought pnly gave us 2.5 cups of coffee. Sigh. In all fairness we have never gotten good service here, so we knew what we were getting ourselves into. We come in here because it is close, they honor the military and the cook can really cook, the one star if for the cook.

Everyone in there seemed to be getting great service but us. It first started with drinks. Our server asked if we wanted chocolate or regular milk for our son we asked for regular received chocolate. Asked for creamer for our coffee had to receive it from another server. Our fries and onion rings were on the wrong plate. My husbands burger was raw. So our server threw it up on the line and yelled at the cooks "This is raw. Its disgusting." We then received our bill for one amount, then was charged $5 more. The other two servers were great! And I really wish we could have had a better experience.
