Whether youre looking for a quick coffee & pastry, a business lunch, or a more formal dinner, Oasis Cafe has a unique setting that fits any mealtime demand! Near the entry, youll find a typical coffee-shop looking setup, with pastries on display behind curved glass cases. Look to your right and youll see some high-tops for those in search of a quick place to sit and chow down on counter-ordered food. Visiting from NY, my friend and I came here for a sit-down dinner, so we entered and were seated in the larger wait-serviced area to the left of the entrance. Our server was quick in getting us an initial round of drinks while we decided on food selections. My friend opted for a $25 prix fixe dinner special, which included a tomato fennel soup, chicken entree (small, only one cutlet), and a seductive lavender panna cotta. I opted for the filet medallions and we shared some of our food with each other. Although everything was good, I was a HUGE fan of my filet medallions, served with a gorgonzola mushroom stuffing and topped with marsala cream sauce with port wine reduction. The panna cotta dessert was a perfect mix of cream and gelatin, surrounded with berries and sprinkled with pistachios. The whole panna cotta was very light - a perfect follow-up to our large entrees that preceded it. Coming from New York, just about everything seems "reasonably-priced" in Utah, even in Salt Lake City. Even before the 10% "Social Media" discount our server (Jayson) gave us, Oasis Cafe was less expensive than many of the other restaurants we visited during the same trip, but the quality of the food definitely matched/exceeded some of the other pricier restaurants in the area!

I walked in and waited at the counter behind a group of people. After they were sat down I found it odd that no one acknowledged that I was standing there waiting for a couple minutes. While I continued to patiently wait, I asked the hostess if brunch was still going on. She answered with "yes, at 2:30 p.m." I continued to wait even longer until the people sitting down at the tables behind me were called to be seated. At this point I had no idea people were waiting other than me which was frustrating. I asked the hostess if theres some kind of wait list, and she said "yes, would you like to be placed on it?" I replied "I have been standing here for 5 minutes and you didnt even acknowledge that I was here already waiting." "Im sorry, I didnt see you." she said. "How could you have not seen me? I asked you about brunch!" A gentleman approached the counter and I asked how long the wait was, he replied "about 35 minutes." My blood was boiling by this point. I stormed out of the cafe and immediately called the manager over the phone. I told him the story which he was already aware of. He justified that the girl was young, and that it was a busy day. He felt that this situation was not serious and didnt feel the need to offer anything. Even a small discount would have been nice when I returned on a slower day! I wont be returning to this place ever again.

The low rating is strictly related to the poor quality of service and lack of care/accountability from Oasis Cafe staff and management. We just had a brunch with my family. During the process of coffee refills, my wife handed her cup to the waitress (she was not our assigned waitress, but someone helping her out) since our 10 month old was sitting right by her. The waitress filled the coffee cup and put it right in front of the our toddler, who in tern grabbed the cup and spilled the coffee on her leg causing a burn. A little common sense could of prevented that. Our main waitress was quick in getting us some ice to ease the pain and we really appreciated that. Shortly after that, while we had just settled down again to finish our food, yet another waiter stopped by our table and dropped off the check even though we had not asked for it yet. We paid our check and tipped the waitress that provided us with the most of the service. However, the lack of sympathy and literally no management follow up on the well being of our daughter gave us a good glimpse into the culture of this establishment. Even though we have been regular patrons at Oasis in the past, this marks the last time we will eat here. I prefer to support businesses that care about its customers.

I support the views of Edgar G in the review from 2 weeks ago. We previously ate brunch at Oasis Cafe and the food was good. Based on the previous experience and good food, we went back and my wife ordered the Cranberry & Walnut French Toast again (so did I), and it was disgusting, bland and worst of all it appeared to be Raisin & some-nut? French Toast. We brought this up and expressed our dissatisfaction with the server, who said he would talk to the chef about it. He came back with the explanation/excuse that it was what they received from their bread supplier and the chef will take it up with the supplier. No apology whatsoever. We were given no discount on the 2 plates of "really bad" french toast, so we further wrote a complaint on the bill (along the lines of the above), and I see that they have still processed the full charge on my card. Very disappointing and not what I would call customer service by any stretch of the imagination!

I love Oasis Cafe! Ive come here for brunch and dinner and the food is always delicious. Their gluten free brunch menu is fantastic and they always take extra care to make sure my (celiac) husbands food is free of cross-contamination. The drink menu is a glory to behold; I highly recommend their mocha espresso and the lavender mimosa. If there is a wait to be seated, they will ask for your cell phone number and text you when your table is ready--super convenient! I love to browse the attached Golden Braid Books if theres a wait. And as a bonus, if you buy something from Golden Braid they give you a coupon for $10 off 2 dinner entrees. The vibe here is relaxed and peaceful. Its delightful for a transplanted Washington hippie like myself.

They were able to accommodate our large group (around 25 people) but service was slow because we only got one server and he seemed busy already. The food came out faster than expected, however, and the service sped up after other servers pitched in. They have some great coffee and the food was plated beautifully. The heuvos ranchero was pretty good, if not authentic. My GF said the vegetable hash with eggs was very good. We also ordered the coffee cake, which was good (nut warning). The portions were fine if you dont have a huge appetite. Nobody had any complaints and it was a pretty good experience, though there are some better places for breakfast around town if you have a smaller group (Penny Anns, The Egg and I, etc.).

I decided to give this place a try after reading the reviews. I was on my way through Salt Lake City and wanted some food and coffee so I stopped in at oasis. The service was quite good however the coffee I received, which was the house coffee, honestly tasted like old very burnt poor quality Folgers coffee. I also ordered the omelette (one of the easier dishes to accommodate my food allergies) and was hopeful based off of some of the food around me I was seeing but was unfortunately quite underwhelmed with what I received. (It tasted and looked like low-quality diner food). I dont like leaving negative reviews but there it is, the service was great but the food and everything else I had was very poor quality.
