Just went with my boyfriend, his mother, my (priorly sick) son and it was, by far, the *WORST* Outback experience that Ive ever had. We ordered drinks and then a sampler for an appetizer. The onions were over-fried and they didnt offer a good variation of sauces (2 ranches and 2 southwest ranches). I ordered a grass-fed burger with fries and a salad, my son ordered a Joey Sirloin with fruit, my boyfriend ordered a 12oz sirloin with mac & cheese, a salad, and a lobster tail, and his mother ordered the ahi tuna as a entree. I ordered my sons steak medium, my burger medium rare, and my boyfriend ordered his steak medium rare. My sons steak was cooked correctly, but the meat tasted like it had gone bad. My boyfriends steak was *very* raw (basically only seared on both sides). My burger and her tuna was, thank God, fine. The cucumbers in the salads were clear (which meant that they had gone bad). Not my son, because he was already sick, but if my boyfriend and I get sick, I will be calling corporate. The only reason why it got any stars was that our waitress acted like she cared. Oh, and they still charged us for the bad steak.

Although we rarely submit reviews for dining, my husband and I wanted to share what a great experience we had last evening at Outback-Tyler. We celebrated our 30th anniversary with an early dinner there. (Staff didnt know it was our anniversary until after we were nearly finished with dinner.) From the moment we walked in the experience was the best weve had in a very long time, anywhere! Our server (Jessica) was prompt, well informed and very attentive throughout. Hubby had prime rib & lobster tail. I had the petite filet. The salads (Ceasar for both) and bread were scrumptious and both steaks were cooked PERFECTLY. The prime rib could be cut with a fork only and the filet was "every bite devoured". Lobster was tender and baked potatoes were perfect. We both felt that although weve paid much, much more.........weve never had a better steak. When they learned it was our anniversary, we were treated to fresh decaf coffee and a generous slice of seriously sinful cheesecake with chocolate sauce. We cant wait to go back!!

Ive eaten at Outback in North Little Rock, Arkansas, for 25 years with not a single complaint, but this Tyler, TX, location leaves something to be desired. On Valentines Day, 2009, my friend and I each ordered a 6 ounce sirloin and an 8 ounce sirloin, respectively. When served, they were both 6 ounce sirloin, and my baked potato didnt have the green onions I ordered. When the errors were pointed out to the manager, he offered to bring an 8 ounce for the price of a 6 ounce, but since my steak was cooling off waiting to see the manager, I declined and began to eat. He also said the onions would be brought out immediately. I never got the onions, and the ticket brought to us still had the 8 ounce charge on it, which had to be reprinted. We both noticed the salads seemed to be mostly croutons and very little lettuce, which was also a change we werent happy with. A much better place to eat in Tyler is the Texas Roadhouse, where weve eaten happily several times.

The atmosphere was amazing, calm enough to relax yet lively enough to be an interesting and unique experience. The food was outstanding. The steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned bett r than any Id eaten before. The grilled shrimp far exceeded my expectations, where I expected a bland dish, the shrimp was cooked with an amazing blend of seasoning and vegetables that tasted amazing. The service was friendly, fast, and got every order just right. The cost was slightly higher than an average restaraunt, but you are paying for high quality food and service. I came in expecting another average chain resteraunt, but was completely blown away. I would definitely place this resteraunt among the best Ive ever eaten at.

The worst service I have EVER had anywhere in Tyler. Was there on a Saturday night and had to wait outside for almost an hour - they forgot that we were there apparently. Went in and talked to the manager and he said it was still going to be 15 min wait.... waited 15 min and manager said it was going to be another 30 min... told manager we were leaving and he acted like it was no big deal. Went back a couple months later and finally got in and ate and their food was terrible. Suffice it to say I wont be going back.

Its a chain, so you know what youll get food-wise. Went here on a fairly busy night and was treated kindly and respectfully. Took a while initially for them to realize I had no waiter (maybe 5-8 minutes) but once I got one, everything was great. Went again at a less busy time and it was okay. Steak was medium well and I asked for medium, potatoes were a little dry. Service was slower but I wasnt neglected. I like Outback overall and I was treated well.

My husband loves the steak here, so even though Im a vegetarian and there are only like three things on the menu I can eat, I go with him when he wants Outback for dinner. Usually great service, but one time about a month ago, the waiter was extremely rude when I asked for a dinner sized Caesar salad without chicken or shrimp. I got a tiny side salad and was told that was the dinner size. Really?

I didnt realize the restaurant had closed and I stayed after much later than would have been appropriate. They never said anything. I wanted to thank them and give a bigger tip, but I had already walked outside and the door was locked. Friendly people and great food. Im going back next time Im in town.

Awesome food great service. Sat in the bar area, the meal was hot, and the waiter was very attentive. We come here at least once a month and weve never been let down. Even the cook brought our food. Again thank you. We come all the way from Mineola and well worth it. Jim and Cindy P

Walked in around 4 oclock, there were a few people inside but the place was by no means busy. Made eye contact with several of the wait staff and were never acknowledged, the host stand remained empty for the several minutes this went on before we decided to just go elsewhere.

Always ate here when I lived in Tyler. The food was always consistent and the waitresses were very quick and checked in on us often. I quit going after Amanda quit working there and a few others left. Its different now.. Still would recommend this Outback for the food.

For me, this is the place for a chicken fried steak. I know, sounds crazy. Why get this when your at Outback. But youre missing out if you havent tried their chicken friend steak. I feel its the best here in town here in Tyler, TX. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed
