I come to The Woodlands once a year on business. I eat here usually twice over a 4 night trip. The food is great. I just got the chicken and spinach enchiladas. They were amazing. I also recommend the chile com queso with beef. But by far, the service blows me away. I was a high end server in a previous life. But the server I had on this trip made me rethink what quality service is all about. My mom got a salad and couldnt decide on a salad dressing. So he brought 3 dressings. I couldnt decide on which beans to get so he told me to try them and if I didnt like them hed get me different ones. He offered to bring me a taste sample of different sauces he had. When he brought out the con queso he asked if Id like some warm tortillas. He asked if I wanted corn or flour. I hedged for a second and he suggested that he bring some of both. His service has spoiled me. I dont know of any restaurant I could go into and ask to be brought 3 dressings for my salad. Or warm tortillas with my con queso. ...at least without getting a strange look, or an additional charge or just simply told "we cant do that." I dont know where he learned those service techniques. But he or his teachers could write a book on what a new vision of customer service can be. Great job!

Tonight ruined this restaurant for me forever. It is extremely windy and we said we would sit on the patio ONLY IF IT WAS WARM. It was not. The heater didnt work well, the side panels reached mid leg and wind constantly blew under it. Swells of wind came in and blew the sides onto us and our table, our bodies, our food. We complained and asked for help for 3 hostesses and our waiter.nobody did anything. The heater was OFF. The hostesses said "well you will be ok. At least you got well fed." Well NO IM NOT AND I COULDNT EAT COLD BEANS AND TORTILLAS AND SHRIMP BECAUSE THAT DOESNT TASTE GOOD. SHIVERING LIKE IM AT A CAMPFIRE ISNT AN ENJOYABLE DINING EXPERIENCE AND BEING BLOWN OFF IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE POSSIBLE. 4 people and and $80 bill which you didnt even bother to reduce until we bitterly complained to management ensures I wont be back and will post this on every review site I can find. I cant even tell you if the food was good; I wasnt dressed for a campfire.

My husband and I absolutely love Guadalajaras ambience, food and service... Christian, the bartender is a wonderful bartender and is known for lifting ones spirit. I have been coming here as a regular for over 4 yrs now and regard the place as a home from home.... As far as the menu goes, I have a couple of favourites depending on my mood... for starters, I like the Nachos with beef fajita which is really good and can be ordered by sizes, 8 or 12., then theres the tortilla soup when it comes to soups. For vegetarians the Hacienda Chopped Salad and the Ensalada Del Rio are really tasty depending on whether you like Salmon or Chicken. As an entree, I love the Marisco which is excellent and my favourite Happy Hour item is the Street Tacos with a side order of rice and beans. These were just my suggestions according to my taste but I believe all their food is really great!Definitely Guadalajaras is a must when venturing out for your next Mexican dinner!!

Poor customer service and flexibility. Forget this place if you ever want to have a party. I wanted to host a birthday party there on a Friday evening for a guaranteed 20-25 adults and they absolutely would not make any exceptions and would not seat us until the complete party was present - which means an hour or more of waiting to be seated and another hour or more of waiting for food. Dont mind waiting for a usual evening of dinner, but for a special event, I definitely do not want my hungry guests to have to go through this sort of unorganized chaos. This is not a smooth process for a large group and not exactly a stress-free birthday for the birthday person. Guess they are doing well enough that they do not need additional business. Disappointed. Me & my guests will bring our $$ elsewhere.

We sat for 10 minutes. Nobody said "hello". Finally, about 5 minutes later, somebody came by to take our drink order -- we had eaten most of the nachos and were dying of first. Five minutes later, he still had not arrived with the drinks, so we began to leave. The managers proposed solution was to allow us to sit somewhere else for a different waiter. THATS NUTS! She should have at least taken our order right then and there, made sure we had drinks immediately, and expedited our food order. We left, went to Papasitas. We were greeted within 3 minutes after we sat down. We had our drinks within 5 minutes and refills less than a minute later. (We were VERY thirsty by now). Our order arrived about 7 minutes later. Good buy, Guadalajara!

I have been staying for business and vacation at hotels close by and have come here regularly for some lunch or dinner tex mex over the past 5 years. It used to be a really great place but during every visit in 2010-2011 it has unfortunatley been a total disappointment. Dont know what has changed behind the scenery but I have had enough of strange tasting beef, prok tamales with no pork, fried rice with a piece of plastic inside etc etc. Try Lupe Tortilla or Cafe Adobe on the other side of the highway - you will not be disappointed. Nobody would be happier than me if they could shape up a bit because the location and staff are just wonderful.

Ordered fish and con ceviche, fish was actually gray and crunchy along the edges, one piece of shrimp, on up side grilled veggies were great. Waiter never asked how the food was, but did stop by twice to push more ritas. My husband ordered tostados, so small they fit in the palm of has hand served with about 3 cups of dry rice. We mentioned to waiter it was our daughters 13th birthday. He was seen asking other waiters to come sing Happy Birthday with everyone of them shaking their heads no. Waiter finally brought supopias and said they no longer make a bid deal about Birthday Days??? Not our best visit for sure.

This use to be the only place we went for Mexican food. I was never much for Cheese enchiladas, till I went here, they were the best my wife and I ever had. When we had family in town we went here. Then they changed their menu and the quality went down not just at the one in The Woodlands but even the one downtown. Instead of lots of Cheese it was lots of tortilla. Sent e-mails to them about this, never got a response, and have not been back since. Also, its not just the Cheese Enchiladas that quality went bad on, so did other items, and it seems the dont give as much on portions.

The food here is by far my favorite mexican restaurant in the woodlands! I absolutely love Mexican food and eat at lots of the different places in the woodlands but Guadalajara is my favorite :) Their salsa and queso is THE BEST. Their tortillas, rice, chicken fajitas, and especially their cheese enchiladas are so so so so good. Oh and I recently ordered their ceviche for the first time and it is SOOOO good. I am a pretty picky eater and dont usually eat seafood but it is really delicious! The service is nice and quick! I would highly suggest this restaurant :)
