Mediocre at best... The quality just isnt there. The chips are the best part about the place. Ive been here twice now and gotten poor service as well. Also, the price of the items Ive here can only be justified by the property tax on the location. My girlfriend wanted to go here for her birthday and they gave her a free shot glass filled with chocolate cake and on the receipt said Tres Leches. Makes me feel like we should have gotten aa bit better birthday treatment. I got the chicken fajitas and the chicken was a bit dry and the flour tortillas are thin and greasy. My GF ordered beef tacos with the same tortillas and their ground beef looks and tastes like its one step above taco bell. We ordered queso and it might as well have been whipping cream with how thin it was. The queso also came with a little side plat of beef and pico that we didnt order which showed up on the bill. It was only $1.50 but it speaks to the service which was sub-par. Took them over 30 minutes to get us our food and we sat there eating chips for at least ten minutes while waiting to place our order. My GF likes the decorum of the place but I didnt think it was anything special. The ceilings are also high and there are no soundboards above people so it is loud and sounds like a cafeteria in the dining room. I will only ever go to this place again if my girlfriend insists..

Im not sure why this is rated so high. we came here because of the good reviews and wanted to try it. The waiter took our order but was reminded 4 times to bring us avocado and lemons. He brought out the tortillas 20 minutes before we even got our food. i ordered the empanadas plate, 3 total empanadas. i ordered 2 beef and one chicken and i got the opposite . i asked for a beef empanada and he brought it out within minutes...well, now i know why it came out fast, this empanada was frozen from the inside. Blah. my friends ordered the "nueve" grilled beef and chicken fajitas. they served in on those "sizzling" grills but it was not sizzling. the meats looked old and cold and was said that they had a funny taste to them. Im not returning or bringing anyone....No no no.

The service and food was extremely delicious but the only reason why I didnt rate this place a 5-star is because the portions are extremely small compared to the price :( nonetheless, their homemade frozen margaritas are truly the best in town when it comes to house frozen versions. Their queso blanco dip is home made as well as their table-side guacamole which was excellent! I ordered the ceviche as my entree and its some of the best Ive ever had; I could eat the ceviche all day! I would come back more if Escalantes increased their portions given that the prices are very high. Overall, the music is fantastic, great service, patio is very pleasing on sunny days, and this restaurant is great for any occasion.

Not sure what these other people have been eating, but this place is great...not your "typical" Mexican place with basic food...the White Queso is to die for, the hand made guacamole is to die for, and the 100% fresh margaritas are fantastic....if you want the typical, do not eat here. If you want fresh, great, nicely prepared Mexican food try it. The place is sometimes busy. Your typical Mid-town restaurant...but i think worth the wait. If you want the Mexican feel without all the c grease...Eat here....love this place.

The food was decent, but not my idea of Tex-Mex. The refried beans were not seasoned at all, the burrito was meat wrapped in a tortilla, covered in blanco queso, more like a taco al carbon than a burrito. The rest of the food was similarly odd for Tex-Mex. The last straw was our server going to lunch and having to wait 30 minutes for the check, as no other wait staff would take it upon themselves to take care of it, until we finally got a rather rude hostess to finally find someone so we could leave. Will not go back here again.

Nastiest most expensive "mexican" place. Ive been here a couple of times for small parties so we usually get fajitas, this time, some friends from out of town wanted good mexican food sooo i brought them here, i got a "burrito", it was two-flour tortilla-like flautas. I was a bit embarrassed after we got the food. Dont know why people give it a high rating, some people have money but no taste. If you want something waaaay better try Cucos, Lupe Tortilla or Chapultepec. Never coming or suggesting this place again.

Called ahead and were told they did not take reservations. When we arrived we were told 30 minutes. Over an hour later we were still waiting while people who arrived after us were seated before us. Service was horrible and the people were rude. We left before we were seated and the hostess acted like she could care less. They will never have our business and we would not recommend to anyone. These people are pretentious assholes plain and simple. My advice? Go down the road to Chuys.

This place is all about looks and atmosphere. Its very well decorated and it a great location. The staff is also very professional and friendly. So if youre looking to take someone out and "look good" then it might be a good option but food was "alright". Not really tasty just kind of... okay! Mexican food is simple so its hard to get wrong but thats also why theres so many mexican restaurants that have awesome food... this place just isnt one of them.

Come here sometimes for lunch/brunch or dinner and really love it. The Mexican food here is incredibly good, the burritos deluxe is my personal favorite. The food isnt cheap here, but the restaurant is really nice and well decorated. We usually eat on the patio which is really nice. Parking can be a pain due to all the stores nearby but thats par for the course here. I would highly recommend trying it out.

Upscale Tex-Mex. Chile con queso blanco is a must -- go ahead and get a bowl. Other favorites are the tableside guacamole, shrimp quesadillas, roasted corn bisque, enchiladas mariscos, enchiladas suizas, and probably my very favorite, the enchiladas famosas roasted corn (chicken enchiladas with a roasted corn sauce). Man, Im hungry just thinking about this place. And margaritas ... get some margaritas. :)

Unfortunately I took a date....and I was hungry. Take a microwave el patio dinner to a topless bar and tip in pesos. Youll have the same experience! A virtual whos who of severe nasal cavity damage! Watered down "Hollywood Drinks" drinks. Free valet parking though! PS- If you are an invester, it would please me greatly to engineer you guys a general seasoning mix for your food-100% free of course.

I went there this week end and ordered red sniper. The worst cook, presentation and size ( not even 3 ounces ). With two vegetable slices on side and handing me a corn tortilla upfront in my hand and charged $30 for that plate with no drink. The total bill was $54 with two other dry taco, no drink at all. Will never go again.

Very delicious and very friendly service. My chicken enchiladas were perfect. Check out my photo. My daughter had the tilapia and enjoyed it. Prices are very reasonable and I understand they have a happy hour every day. Yes, EVERY DAY!! I believe its from 3 to 6 and its half price appetizers.
