Went at 8PM on a Monday so place was largely empty. Wait staff was friendly (i.e. no attitude from them because it was nearing closing). Older gentleman was my waiter. He suggested the non-vegetarian Thali combination platter after I advised it was my first visit and requested a suggestion. For just shy of $17, I got so much food I could barely finish and I went there with a good appetite. Platter included tandoori chicken, saag paneer, chicken makhani, dal makhani (a lentil and bean dish), nana bread and a dessert (similar to an airier doughnut hole suspended in a simple syrup). In case you believe the menu picture to be overly flattering, it really DOES look that delicious (see attached cell phone pic). Although the plaza the restaurant is located in looks on the rundown side, inside its clean and inviting. Though I found it all delicious, I felt the saag paneer (a dish with creamed spinach and cheese cubes) and the chicken makhani aka "butter chicken" (moist flavorful chicken bites in a tomato and butter based creamy yogurt sauce) were the standouts. The makhani had just enough spice to leave a slight afterburn whose edge was removed by the mango lassi (a drink much like a very thin yogurt smoothie). The lassi included enough yogurt to give it a very slight sourness avoiding sickening sweetness. My only minor grievance is that some of the naan (Indian flatbread) was slightly overcooked. This is heavily recommended for the modest cost, good flavour and generous portions.

Today was the first time in years Ive been disappointed in this restaurant. The food has steadily been declining for whatever reason. The rice was very wet and soggy as though way too much water was used in preparation. The Chicken Korma was made with chicken legs so I had to use knife and fork to fight for any meat. I have never seen Korma on the bone and dont want to see it again. The Chicken Tikka was overcooked and dried up, not the usual tender, juicy meat. The Butter chicken tasted like it had tomato soup poured over it, not the tasty sauce they normally serve. They didnt have the egg dish out on the buffet that I drove 25 miles for and had replaced it with broccoli, really? Plain steamed broccoli is something I can make at home. I dont expect it to be served instead of my favorite Indian staple at this restaurant. The only things that were good today were the Samosas and Naan. Hope these guys get their act together or they will lose a regular customer. If I had taken friends or family there today, they would have all been disappointed.

Scratch this off the list. The waiter took our order and asked if we wanted rice? Thought that was a odd question. Who eats Indian food without rice? Yes we want rice. The food arrived. Last time i was here i really enjoyed the food. I love Indian food, and spices, etc but i have never eaten Indian anywhere where i was spitting out nuts and seeds, and cinnamon sticks. It is semi dangerous to have huge piece of cinnamon sticks in your food. Then the bill arrives. 46 dollars.... I did a double take.... 46 dollars? We had 2 dishes, 2 drinks, Naan and Rice. 46 dollars. Oh the rice.. Yeah 9 dollars for rice. Are you joking ??? You ask if we want rice and then charge almost 10 dollars for rice?? What Indian restaurant charges for rice? Needless to say the food was good, despite the herb garden tossed in my dish, but we went for a early dinner not for a 50 dollar meal, and surely not to get ripped off for 10 dollars for rice with dinner.

We ordered chicken Tikka Masala extra spicy that barely had any heat although the flavor was good. We also ordered chicken curry. The curry had some kind of cheese in it. The garlic naan was ok but soggy. We ordered and paid for extra rice but didnt get it. My bill was $28.10 gave them two twentys and got back $11.00 which i didnt care about until i got to my hotel and noticed they never gave me the extra rice. The lady repeated my order on the phone and when i got there but they still messed it up. I will not eat here again.

I dont know how people like this food it was literally the worst Indian/paki food ever and Im speaking for someone who grew up on this food. Worst food ever and overpriced like no other go to tempura for better Pakistani/Indian food cheaper and tastes better. Everything literally everything sucked and for some reason the gulab Jaman tasted like a fried pancake ball and was slimy. FYI you know it bad place to eat when I was the only brown person there.

It is passable as indian cuisine. The dishes are missing those spices that make for a great experience, not just the hot spices. Usually its a flavor explosion when one chews good indian cuisine. Food will change flavors as certain spices get crunched... there is a thick consistency to the sauce. Taj doesnt have any of these characteristics. The pricing is reasonable and the food is edible. Its a very clean restaurant and the choices are numerous.

First be sure you get here pretty early. The staff starts to shut things down much earlier than their close time. The food selection is pretty vast. Food was excellent and great for those used to, or who enjoy the Indian cuisine. Staff was friendly but service was slow. This experience could have been a off night but i will still return and give is a second shot at the perfect experience. But if it doesnt return i may stick to ordering to-go.

Super slow service. Ordered a lamb biryani which had very little lamb and bland rice. But most importantly, I had ordered a cup of tea and repeatedly reminded the manager, who bought the tea after I finished the biryani and then after 3 odd minutes said he needs to close the place so I should leave. I left my tea and any desire to come to this place. Never going back again.

Taj Indian is incredible! We ordered the non-vegetarian combination sampler, and it was amazing. Chicken tikka is cooked perfectly, moist. Saag paneer is so savory. Chicken mathandi is rich and tasty. The naan is awesome. Tried the mango lassi and it was great. Gulab janub for dessert was sweet and decadent. Will keep coming back for sure!

I had my dinner today and I can be honest about this. I had one of the terrible food at this restaurant. The entree was half cooked and it was terrible and not even a cent worth for $10 I paid just for the entree plus $4 extra for the breads. I will recommend everyone not to waste their $$ on this restaurant. Raj
