My wife and I got to the restaurant at 9:20 we noticed that they closed at 10. We didnt want to inconvenience anyone so we asked the hostess if it was too late to enter. She said it was not to late and sat us. We sat and waited for service for 5 minutes in that time we saw the manager have words with the hostess and walk over and turn off the open sign at 9:25. He then came to our table with an attitude and asked us for our drink order and told us it is too late and we need to order now. We explained to him that we had asked the hostess and he belittled her by saying she knows nothing the kitchen is closed. His entire demeanor was blunt and rude. We decided to get up and leave rather than be disrespected and give him business he clearly didnt want.. As we left we could hear him bad mouthing the hostess. By the way the restaurant had at least 10 people still eating who witnessed him act so foolishly. We used to eat here regularly but will never be returning after this experience. There are too many other good restaurants to eat at than go to a place where the costumer is to respected.

Horrible experience. My wife and I HAD been dining here for a long time---from the very same year they opened. Each of the last several visits had been worse than the one before. On our last visit, we were seated quickly, as usual. We waited and waited and waited. The wait grew to almost 20 minutes before I had to ask the server at the table next to ours if he could take our drink order...his exact words, "Im not your waiter, I will go and find out who can take your order." Dumbfounded, I nodded with a sarcastic smile, thinking why cant you take it? Never mind. 5 minutes later he returns to the same table (next to our table) and I ask, "did you ever find that somebody to take our order?" Ohhh, I am sorry, I forgot to ask. I then proceeded with more sarcasm, "heres a novel idea, how about we leave and no one has to order?" By this time my wife and I had been at the table for over 30 minutes. Cheers of clapping by those hearing my last words aimed at the somebody-else waiter still brings a smile-----basically, horrible, never again.

Hmmm, I guess that when you know better, you do better. I think the majority of the people that are saying this is the best sushi in Spring and rating it really high are doing so because they simply have never had better sushi. This place was just meh-okay. I ordered the Akahihi Rainbow specialty roll and then a California roll at the cost of $20.00. Nothing about the rolls stood out to me or enticed me to come back. This place is nowhere near as good as Matsu Japenese Restaurant. The first time I ate at Matsu, I could not stop thinking about it and went back twice in the same week. Here at Akaihi, their rolls did not have the same freshness that I am accustomed to at Matsu. The rolls were not bad, but they werent spectacular. Honestly, I have had better tasting sushi rolls at HEB. The girl at the front register was nice, she was patient and answered all my questions. Granted I did not try any of the Hibachi items and I only had two items off the menu, I would probably just go over to HEB which is in the same complex and get sushi.

This is hands down the best sushi place i have been to in America. Honestly it is better than the top rated places in LA or NYC, wherever you think is the best, unless you have been here, this is the best. Its a fusion of authentic Japanese sushi with a Texas mix added in. I have been to many Michelin Star rated restaurants and this is better than many 1 star restaurants i have visited in terms of food quality. There are no white tablecloths or personal servers cleaning your table after each crumb you spill, however the service is phenomenal. Extremely attentive to every detail and you are never waiting for anything. Excellent in every way, I highly recommend this place and will be visiting anytime I travel through Houston.

Just had the worst experience ever at this restaurant off louetta & stuebner airline. Sat down to eat dinner with my co-worker. Ordered a few appetizers but the calamari wasnt good so I sent it back. The owner/manager came out, snatched the menu from the table and began yelling saying he is going to make sure we like what we order next because we are the only people sending food back to the kitchen. Now Ive been to this restaurant a few times before and Ive never had any problems. I couldnt help but look around and see that we were the only black people there. Call it what you want but I felt this was a racial attack. Guess he thought we were gonna eat a bite of everything and send it back

Went here during lunch on Thursday and had the sushi lunch special. It came with miso soup and a salad (both were ok not amazing). One special had a shrimp tempura roll, spicy tuna roll, and one more more roll that was yummy. The second special had sashimi (raw fish on top of rice), spicy tuna roll, and a regular roll. Not too much flavor in the second special. The staff was polite and the restrooms were clean. It wasnt busy during lunch and for the price and quantity of food it was a good place.

I ordered hibachi steak medium rare. When I got my plate the steak was over cooked. I informed the waitress and she took my plate back. 2 mins later, the manager brought my same plate back out with a piece of the steak cut arguing with me that the steak was cooked correctly!!!! He argued with me and my family and made a scene in front of the whole restaurant. I demanded a refund. Whats up with that! The customer is always right! We will not be back!!!!

We have been regulars for years with a few up and down experiences along the way, but today is my last time ever! They charged me premium prices for happy hour drinks and when I asked the manager about it, he said he doesnt care, too bad the computer sets the price. The manager was beyond rude! The food isnt that great, its just convenient and close to home. Im sure we can find a place that will appreciate our business!

I ordered a Fire Cracker and a Spicy Tuna roll. The Fire Cracker was decent, not great, but it was fresh. The spicy tuna however was terrible. It was old and dry like they went to the HEB and bought it right there. Ill never come back to this restaurant. This was my second time and both times the spicy tuna was bad. Ill not give them a third visit.

Food is good but customer service is awful. The waiter didnt give us time to decide what to eat. She was so rude. When she brought our drinks I was going to order some egg rolls but she just place the drinks on the table and left right away I had to call her twice. It seems that she is in a hurry!
