I enjoy the food a lot, but it is a bit overpriced (typically an order for two people costs ~$25-30). Its nothing close to authentic Indian/Asian food, but if you enjoy the spices of those regions and saucy stuff over rice or bread, its pretty tasty. Indian/Thai Panda Express, so to speak, except (in theory) they are making the stuff hot to order. Plus you can get most anything veggie, so Im happy. Service at this location is pretty bad. I like ordering a drink that they have to prepare but they always forget to prepare it, then look at me dubiously when I said I ordered it (I usually dont ask for a receipt). They ask for tips when they charge you even though the service is probably on par with any other fast-casual restaurant (think Panera or Ghengis Grill). So thats kind of stupid. Most of the staff is young because it is a new business and there is a shortage in this area of good staff...pretty typical of most of the new restaurants in this area. I havent ordered takeout but if you do be aware the wait time will probably be long. Its not as fast as fast food. They have to make everything to order and then package it and then figure out who gets what. Seems like there are always a lot of people waiting for their orders. I got a little bit of chicken in my paneer meal once. Yick. So Im a little dubious about the kitchen sanitation. But...the food is pretty tasty, so I do continue to go back.

Update: spoke to a Manager, Kim, she apologized for the experience and resolved the issue. Poor and Incompetent Customer Service. Called to place a pick up order due to their online service being down. I had a question about the menu before I order and was told "If you are not ready to order, please call back". I communicated I was ready to order, and the person hung up on me. I drove to the location to speak to the manager and was told by the person who answers the phone that she was in charge and that I needed to call back tomorrow because the manager was not in. I told her that she needed to get the manager on the phone because I was complaining about her bad service. She then told me she did not speak with me and that I probably called the wrong number. I showed her the number that I called, which was correct for the location and she proceeded to say that she had no recollection of speaking with me. I will not be going back. Obviously this location is poorly managed if a manager cannot be on site at all times and they leave individuals like that in charge. Im very upset that Masala Wok employs individuals who are so obstinately rude to their customers. I enjoyed the food very much and was very excited when this location opened near my home.

It was my first time there and certainly my last. I was not offered any suggestions for food options. They did bring my food, beverage and utensils to me, but that was the extent of the good service I received. It was a sunny day, despite all of the rain and flooding we had recently experienced around the city, so I asked one of the employees if i could eat outside on the patio. The door leading to the patio appeared to be locked, but she said yes and that it was OK. It was not OK; I was mugged. Someone came and grabbed my purse while I was sitting there having lunch. I ran after the thief but was not able to catch up to him. He got into a car and left. I screamed and cried and no one did a thing. Instead of calling the police as I requested, two servers called the owner, who was not even on the property. He called the police only after he got to the restaurant and I refused to talk to him. No cameras outside and the place has been burglarized before. Not a safe place to eat. I wont be going back!

It is what it is. Reminds me of a good day at my college cafeteria. Not gourmet or even really good food. Its Panda Express ish, just priced higher and you are asked to tip the cashier. Ive eaten there 8 times purely out of convenience, they are open till 10 during the week and I get off at 9 in the energy corridor. In hindsight, theyve messed up my takeout order 4 of 8 times. On the last mess up, one person told me the meal was free, as I pull out of the parking lot another person chases me down saying I didnt pay. I have to turn around, park, come back in wait in line and then the two or three people work it all out and I dont have to pay, I think. Maybe I was supposed to, Im still not sure. So the place is a cluster #. Ive gotten chicken instead of tofu in my rice, the wrong dish altogether, sides I didnt order. BUT, Id still work with them if they were nice and they are not. I went from going 2x a week excited, to hmmmm thats interesting, to nope Ive had enough.

I came in here with my dad to grab some dinner to go. The lady that came to take our order at the counter just looked at us after I said hello. She completed our order correctly and quickly then asked me to sign the ipad as I was putting my wallet away then asked me louder to sign it and I just looked at her like calm the hell down. The resturant was EMPTY. No need for that. But then I saw that she was in a quick hurry to get back to texting on her phone and frappuccino by the kitchen/restroom area. We got our order from her without a word and she quickly went back to her phone without taking our number sign with her. So I took it back to the counter for her and said thanks really loud. Sorry we interrupted your drink and texting.

I usually enjoy coming to your establishment but today was not a good experience . I was sitting eating my food with my daughter and a group of people decided to bring a cat into your establishment. It is my understanding that unless you sit outside you can have your pet and not inside and they opening had the cat out. I love animals but I wont ever do something like that unless it is a place where you can bring animals . I have pictures as well if you would like to see . And also today the food was not as yummy as it usually is. A little disappointed

The Tikka Masala is amazing! Its so savory & satisfying, especially with the garlic naan! So far Ive had both the chicken & paneer versions! Both were delish! My only complaint (at least for the Katy location) is that, even if you order & pay online you still have to wait in line behind the people ordering/paying/ dining there. The last time I had to wait behind a lady who couldnt decide what she wanted to order. The couple immediately behind her had also ordered & paid online. They need a better system! Ill rate 5 when they fix their pick up system.

Pretty forgettable experience overall - not terrible but not great, either. The food is the most tangible and physical way to depict the word "meh". Coupled with the not-so-clean tables and floors, loud music and complete lack of service beyond the cash register; the experience youd have here would be so lackluster that you probably wont even remember to go back; even if the food was to your tastes. FINAL VERDICT: Forgettable, with a few issues on top. Needs improvement.
