This , is by far the worst Whataburger in the entire universe! Hands down! They have no concept of the term "fast food". Of course, how could they? It doesnt exist in this place. It doesnt matter what time of the year you go. It doesnt matter what time of the day you go. The wait is ridiculously long. Its been a constant occurrence at this particular location for well over twenty years. Im serious, ask anybody on the island. Today I went to get breakfast and noticed the line waiting at the drive thru was typically long. No surprise there! I decide to go in to place my breakfast order. Keep in mind they serve breakfast until 11:00 am. Theres only two customers waiting in line and its 10:45 am. Im thinking, " I got this!" So they only one guy taking orders and hes also wearing the headpiece to take drive thru orders but I think its just for show. He never spoke into the mic. Anyhow this kid needs to pay attention or invest in a Miracle Ear because the customers had to repeat the order over and over. He was not the brightest product of Port Isabels school system. Anyhow , after struggling to get through two orders its my turn. I place my breakfast order and numb nuts informs me that hey quit serving breakfasts at 11:00 am. Sure enough it was exactly 11:00am. Im totally pissed about now. I tell Wonder Boy , " You are not gonna f$&@ing tell me that after waiting in line for fifteen minutes youre not going to serve me breakfast! Its not my fault youre so damn slow . He proceeds to tell me that they cannot serve breakfast after 11:00 am. i asked him, " Did you not see me waiting for 15 minutes in front of your stupid ass?" People behind me joined in. I was walking out but decided that I wasnt going to let it go and demanded to talk to the manager. She, along with about five others were standing behind the genius at the register pretty much doing nothing. He calls her name and she tells him to wait. At which time I say " Hell no, Im tired of waiting. Ive been waiting for fifteen minutes for breakfast and its just 11 am and he says he cant take breakfast orders?" She was unconcerned and told blockhead he could take my order. No thanks , I dont want it now. Your restaurant sucks and it always has. Bye Felicia . Never again will I send anybody to this joint. Go to Dairy Queen or McDonalds or even get a hot dog at Stripes. This place is the worst.

The service was moderately fast we waited about 6 to 10 minutes for our food, which was ok considering how jam packed they were. My food however (a #13 combo 3 chicken strips) was over cooked as if it had been reheated more than once or twice. The strips were hard and about an inch and a half long. To top it off the gravy was filled at one third capacity. We sent it back and got 2 strips changed out, same box we sent in came back out wide open and being held by the manager who asked if it was better like that, the gravy came back at the same level, and the new strips were just as burnt and over cooked. The service was not great by any means that day.

8-30-2015 order#546673. What a freaking joke of a place. 5-6 cars in the drive thru taking 5-8 minutes per car. finally got to window and they had no clue what my order was. (red flag#2) finally got my order and when I arived at my hotel just 2 miles away (Hilton Garden Inn ) we ended up throwing our food away. The so called chicken strips were cold, hard and tasted as if they were re-cooked in burnt fryer oil. My 1 star is 1 star to many, absolutely the most horrible of any fast food chain. Highly recommend to stay away, plus based on other similar reviews seems that #whataburger doesnt care about its customers.

Worst what a burger EVER!!! We told the guy through the drive thru our order a few times to see the receipt after we paid and saw he still got it wrong we told him, and he tried to correct us on our order?? We know what we ordered.. all the burgers were on top of each other not in separate bags per meal like they are very good about mind you we has 5 burgers, fries were cold, he gave us bags and didnt even say thank you or anything. So we didnt even know if he gave us all our food we had to check all the bags.. by far worst ever..

Poor service. First time on South Padre Island. Got late to hotel and starving. Decide to go to Whataburger for something fast but got surprised that took me 30 minutes on drive thru to get my food. They brought the food first and then drinks. I ordered LG onions rings and receive small order (which Whataburger even have that side). Got to hotel and order was all wrong. Very disappointed. Im from Houston and never got this bad service. You Might need to get some tips from Houston stores.

Stay away from this place! It sucks more than a newborn baby! Ive been here 3 times, and that was 3 times too many. The food sucked, the idiot at the register got my order wrong multiple times, and to top it all off, I saw the manager pop some food in her mouth in front of the customers. Nope. Never coming back. Ill just go down the street to stripes and grab a taco. At least its cheaper and they actually cook the food correctly. 1 star mang!

We have had delicious food always while on the Island! The burgers are priced very reasonable, and the help is always so accommodating! I always recommend this location to our friends when they visit South Padre Island, and I feel this is the best Whataburger Restaurant around! We enjoy meeting up with our friends several morning each week, and appreciate how clean the Restaurant is kept, and for that, I give it 5 stars!

The meat on my burger had a weird smell and I had to return it for a chicken sandwich but the chicken was too hard to chew on. An employee named Samantha was very rude but a gentleman named Freddy also being an employee there was very helpful and brought out an excellent chicken sandwich that I loved! I was planning on not ever going back but with the awesome service Freddy provided Im definitely looking forward to go back!

We drove 8 hrs from Fort Worth to SPI. We were hungry when we got to the island, so we went for something quick and familiar. We all got the chicken strips, and they tasted like they had been cooked 2 days before. The fries and toast, however, were fresh, so we just ate fries, toast and gravy. A little disappointing after a long road trip, but we went for better stuff the next day.

By far the worst experience yet, from all the whataburgers Ive stopped at. Came here to get a quick breakfast the girl taking my order said she couldnt change the hashbrowns to fries, eventually after repeating myself over multiple times she then said she could Change the order to fries, waited at least 30 minutes or longer! To top it off everything was slopped together!!!
