I felt compelled to write a very poor review online and I never do this. Thats how bad this experience was for me and my family. This was supposed to be my wifes surprise birthdays reservation there and how it was beyond belief bad. First, the reservation I made with you and it was confirmed by email back to me. When we arrived on time, the elderly Italian lady with red hair and glasses, kindly greeted us. I explained we had a reservation under my name and she looked in her book and then immediately told me and showed me the reservation book that my reservation was NOT booked at all. I dont know why, but she continued to say table for "eight for seating!" I was trying to be discrete and quietly explained to her it was a surprise party for my wife and that the others had not showed yet. She obviously didnt understand and continued to blurt out loudly the same, "table for eight!". Luckily it want busy and she was still able to seat us at a decent location against the wall near the bar looking out the window. My wife is not dumb and immediatley understood now that others were coming. She was flattered and asked me not to say anything, and I agreed. The second problem came the cake we were allowed to bring withus. The problem came when the same lady above then took our cake from the table and asked to hold it for us. We humbly agreed and I asked her to put it in the refriderator because of the type of frosting and didnt want it to melt. One female server came by a short time later and said she was helping the person who was busy and would be with us shortly. She took our drink orders and then we waited at least 15 minutes before we were even brought bread. Our other guests arrived a short time later, the young man took our orders and then we went to the salad bar. To my surprise, I saw a cake box that looked like mine sitting on a table behind the salad bar! Curiosity got the best of me, so I went over to examine the box. It was our cake sitting out! I immediatley called my server over and asked him why this had happned and demanded it be brought to the refriderator immediately! I was becoming more and more disenchanted as the night progressed. We had to ask for more bread and coffee/water refills after returned. The joke of the evening came when our server finally just brought us a pot of coffee to serve ourselves and even got a picture of it sitting in front of my wife!!! The food was slow to come out and luckily we ordered some appetizers to hold us over. Most of the food was mediocre at best and the rest my wife and guests did not finish because of not tasting right. I feel very at home telling you about Italian food because I am 100% Italian and was rasied in upstate NY in a very small Italian town outside Buffalo with lots of delicious Italian cuisine growing up. The only bright spot of the evening was the group bringing out the now nearly melted cake and singing to my wife. The bill came, we paid it and still left your server a 20% tip because I grew up working for tips and know how hard it is to make money this way. I am definately a blue collar kid from Italian immigrants who is now in a white collar industry. What is there to say except they have lost a customer for life and I will never recommend this restauant to anyone. Honestly, I feel we should be fully refunded for all the trouble that was caused to us. Thank you,
RY

This place needs a ZERO rating; however, I am unable to post this review without awarding at least one star. Traveling to the USA from Europe my business partner and I visited Villa Capri, Thursday evening, 01 Dec 16, at 7:30 p.m. There was a large pre-Christmas party at one part of the facility. The dining room was nearly empty with only one table with one couple and a second table with two couples. The manager (?) seated us between the two occupied tables with one more table between us on either side. Although we work in Italy several months a year, no one on the wait staff spoke any Italian or knew the details of the menu items. No problem; thats normal in America. But the table with the two couples were loud, (probably drunk on the wine we could see at their place settings) and using foul, four-letter words to review their sentiments of the recent USA election. One of us walked over and asked those non-deplorables to tone down the conversation. One of the two males, obviously the most drunk of the four, called my business partner a "jackass" and told us to move tables. I summoned the manager = the same woman who seated us, She, too, told us to move. She never approached the trouble-table/Hmm. With thousands of dollars to spend dining out on our month in the Houston area these idiots at Villa Capri blew a great opportunity for us and our other traveling associates, (also from Italy), to spend our money there. There was nothing special about the food: vegetables were not fresh and the pasta was overcooked. The wait staff must have been hired from MacDonalds rejects. Clueless about Italian meals and dining customs. Overpriced, especially when the atmosphere was nothing better than a rowdy bar. Cowardly, offensive management. But maybe that is Texas. Who knows? GO FRANCAS !!!

I couldnt have asked for a more perfect wedding venue! I was married at Villa Capri in June and everything was absolutely perfect! Amy - the coordinator - was so calm that I was a little scared at first. Then I realized that she and the entire Villa Capri/Frenchies family are so amazingly prepared, practiced and down right great at this wedding thing that there truly wasnt a thing to worry about. CONSUMMATE PROFESSIONALS! Amy helped me choose the menu and order the food; it was just too easy. We had plenty but not too much and it was DELICIOUS! Frank and Johnna - the proprietors - mingled with my guests and made sure that all of their needs were met - they were like part of the family! We had the ceremony on the patio - it was a little hot on the deck - and the shade made it very comfortable, even though it was June. It is a beautiful garden setting with a plethora of great spots for photos. They made my cake and it was beautiful! If youre interested in a worry-free wedding experience, let this amazing team make your big day a perfect day! I cant thank you guys enough for all that you did! Nai Mongiello

Dont waste your time or money for a sit down dinner here. It has a nice view of the lake and our waiter was pleasant and timely, but thats the only thing possitive I can say about it. It smelt like a beach house, sandy and musty, it was hot inside, does not appear they have working central ac. But the worst part was the food, I took about five bites and I just couldnt eat any more. The breading on my chicken was thicker than the chicken itself, and the chicken was extremely over cooked. It cost us $52 after tip for two crappy entrees, one small kids spaghetti and we all drank water. We left with regret and upset stomachs. Oh and when they ask if you want them to bring some garlic bread while you wait, they fail to mention theyre going to charge you for it! Who charges for garlic bread?! -8/11/2011
