I rate no stars. I left with my disabled mother and my sister. My mom and sister walked I first and they refused to put us on the wait to be seated list until I walked in. 1st my mom uses a walker but is self sufficient, 2nd u should want to accommodate persons with special needs as a business, period. When I parked car and walked in we finally were but on the to be seated list. Now, while sitting for 20 minutes we watched multiple persons enter and be seated. Oh, did I mention everyone else was greeted when they entered and I had to stand and wait while number of staff walked by without acknowledgement. THEN I was told now Im next because they failed to move me to waiting for seating in the system... yes, technology must be used over a customers satisfaction. Now Im not one to automatically throw the race card out there but I had to wonder as I sat back down and looked around... no minorities or persons of ethnic origin that I could see. THEN YET ANOTHER party of 3 walked in and was immediately seated. With that I asked my mom and sister if they wanted to eat elsewhere... we opted for Red Lobster.

If I could rate more than five stars, I would. As a party of three, we went in and were emidently blown away by the comfort and causality of the place. We were expecting about a ten minute wait, but only waited about 4. All the staff were very courteous and understanding. Our waiter knew exactly when we need refills and got our orders exactly right to the last tiny detail. The food was AMAZING!!!!!! It was also very inexpensive, which is always helpful! I ordered a very special take on a classic ham sandwich. Even though the flavored would normally clash terribly, it was one of the best things Ive had in weeks. There were many interesting quirks and details of this restaurant. All of the funtiture is antique, leading to one of the coolest and yet most causal places Ive ever been in. There were amazing paintings and drawings on the walls that were for sale. The location was very convenient, the staff and food were amazing and it was very quirky! Definitely a family friendly, causal, fun experience! I will definitely be returning!

Magic!! I dont know how do they do it, but the food that I had was nothing less than magic. I was there with 4 more friends and had to wait for about 45 mins but every bite of the food that I had was worth the wait. The staff was courteous and ambiance was classy. I had borboune chicken with borboune brown ale (limited release). The food was a bit expensive than what I have had in other places at San Marcos but I would not even think twice about spending here again for what I ate. My friend ordered some kind of Salmon and it was perfect! I never eat Salmon in restaurants because I believe most of them kill its flavour. But the chef at root cellar presented the Salmon to us that retained the natural taste of meat with a fine blend of added flavour. Highly recommended!

My go to stop for dinner when visiting San Marcos. Staff is always attentive and courteous and the menu although it hasnt changed for sometime has some solid picks - Pasta, steak, fish, are all great - really hard to say anything negative about this place. Even the beer they have in house is a treat, last time I went they had a quad sour that could compete with jester king. Expect a bit of a wait on weekends though, their new check in app allows you to walk around the area which is a great initiative on their part.

If you want a good place to eat along with a good impression of San Marcos, come here! This is one of the best restaurants and I dont exaggerate. Walking in this place you immediately feel classy and in a way good about yourself for picking this place. The food is OUTSTANDING and it is great for taking the family or a woman who you want to impress! Also this is the only place you will find in San Marcos that brews their own beer. Be sure to ask about it because it is nothing less than fantastic.

They make the BEST Spinach Fettucine Alfredo with chicken EVER! Ive traveled from Austin every year for the past 6 years for my "Annual Birthday Brunch" on St. Pattys day weekend to eat their spinach fettucine alfredo as my birthday tradition. Last week, I got 5 people in my group to order it and the consensus agreed. I of course make my way down there throughout the year, but their menu is a diamond in the rough in the small town of San Marcos.

Great and unique food. This is slow food, so dont come here for a quick meal or even expecting to finish your meal in an hour. Dont come here if you have a tight schedule, other plans, or appointments for later. Come here to enjoy gourmet food at an antique table while having a long conversation with a significant other, family, friends, or business associates. Relax and take your time because this is the place and meal just for that.

We ordered two breakfasts dishes. The veggie wrap was fine, however the migas was cold. It took over 40 minutes for our food to arrive. I glanced around and the room was full, however there was only one couple who had received an app and they were seated after we were. I dont understand why it took that long on a Sunday afternoon. The staff were friendly. It is a cute cafe. But I dont think I will ever go there again.

Visiting family in San Marcos and came across this restaurant. What a great find! Food was excellent. Wait staff was very attentative and friendly This was actually our second time to go to this restaurant and once again we were not disappointed. We really liked the way the food was presented on the plate and the prices were really good, not cheap, but not too expensive either. Highly recommend this restaurant.

This place is super cool and laid back. I had a regular coffee with a shot of espresso and it was good. After replying yes to creamer the barrista beought it out from the refrigerated pastry case. Oh the pastries!!!! I had the lemon tart and it was heaven! The tang if the lemon creme and the fresh blueberries was perfect. Also, loads of pokestops to hit as you walk around the square. I cant wait to come back.

Love this place!! Their food is excellent and reasonably priced. Im a vegetarian and had no problem finding eats to grub on. I would say they have the best bread pudding I have ever had, and their beer bread is also pretty incredible (can you tell I like bread?). Only drawbacks are their hours (only open during certain peak times of the day), and they seem to run out of food often.

Always delicious food, great service, great atmosphere. They come up with seasonal plates and sometimes daily specials. There are more traditional and some unusual options. Its a great place to go if you want some good healthy food as well. This is probably my favorite sit-down restaurant in SM, though it can be pretty pricey. I recommend going for a special occasion.
