The prices are amazing here! You cant beat them when it comes to italian! But me and my partner ate here today, and we were waiting for our server to place an order, no big deal, it was just taking a second. So we were trying to get the attention of a server walking by, but the ones who walked by werent hearing my partner say "mam". Also not a big deal, theres alot of restaurant noise. So the lady who sat us, who im assuming now was the manager, was walking by and when she wasnt hearing my partner, he tapped her on the shoulder to get her attention. We told her we would like to order and she said, and i quote "sure ill get your server, just dont tap me on the shoulder next time." The whole thing took about 5 seconds. He wasnt being aggressive or anything. She called it what it was, a tap. Had this lady never been tapped on the shoulder before? Is being tapped on the shoulder become offensive and I just wasnt aware? Lol it was just a little strange and uncomfortable. Regardless the two girls who served us were really nice, the foods always good, and the prices will keep me coming back. But i hope that lady reads this and it rubs her the wrong way just like she did us.

Best Italian food In the area Carinos is Expensive and not as good. Olive Garden Sucks, Italian Garden has food like my family cooked from NY. I remember when this place was called Joes Italian Garden. Kind of a subway fast food atmosphere. You ordered your food in line then went and sat down. Now it looks like a nice Italian Restaurant. Linguini & Clam white is Amazing & the garlic knots, Yeah! Staff is friendly food is priced right, linguini and clam anywhere else and not as good can cost $13-20 Its 8.95 dinner and 6.95 lunch, and you get to bring a bottle of wine in with you, and they have a bucket for the wine, I think only 1 bucket they need more Lol. I remember one time the owner/Cook came out to the table and said "We are out of white wine and can not make your meal", I looked at my dad then looked at the cook/owner and said "I have a bottle right there Take what you need." He was shocked, but he took it. Best dinner EVER!!

After finishing (read "scraping the sauce eagerly off the bowl with a pinch of garlic roll") my leftovers from last night, I feel inclined to leave a review. Now, this restaurant leaves things to be desired (the dining room feeling particularly cramped when busy is heavy, the fettuccine alfredo being strangely thin and bland, and sometimes the bread arrives way too hard), but I absolutely LOVE their lasagna. It may not be pretty, but it is freaking delicious. I reheated my leftovers in the microwave in 20 second increments, the rolls wrapped in a damp paper towel. The rolls were arguably better than they were last night and the lasagna is just as good, if mushy (I like it that way). Also, they let you BYOB and give you glasses in which to enjoy your wine (and dont charge you the "pour fee" a lot of places like this favor). Solid place overall! Ill definitely keep going. :)

This place is great. My husband and i ate dinner here our first night in san marcos on vacation and you cant get any better. This place is cozy but clean and relaxing. Nothing too fancy but the food is awesome. I ordered the chicken marsala and spaghetti and my husband had the chicken fettuccine. It was perfect, well prepared, good portion sizes, and cheap! We also ordered two salads, ceasar and greek and they give u bread as well. Dont forget to byob tho because they dont serve beer or wine there but they will bring glasses to your table if u bring your own beer or wine. Our whole tab was $23. Unbelievable. Waitress was nice and food was ready quick. We will return when we visit san marcos again!

Oh wow. ..I used to really like this restaurant. I am not one to write a bad review. I feel that I should contact the restaurant first..which I did. My food was so incredibly horrible. It was so bad that I could not. Eat it I am not one to complain or send my food back so I ordered a pizza to go. The pizza tastes like coffee. I dont even know how that is possible. I ordered a chicken dish. Chicken marsalla. The meat and mushrooms were as tough as jerky.. The sweet marsalla came with a side of grocery store spaghetti sauce which turns my stomach just writing about it. Yes. .The food is inexpensive. But it is horrible.

EVERYTHING except the rolls was overcooked. The veal, the marinara sauce (seemed as if it had been sitting in a pot simmering for hours), the pasta-YUCK! Al dente is the way to go, but everytime I have been there the pasta is overcooked. The chicken dishes are quite bland and it is almost as if the chicken was boiled. Odd. The coffee was definitely not fresh....So disappointed!!! I have been several times, always hoping it will be better...Never is.

Subpar food... I visited this place about 6 months ago. I was expecting high quality based on the reviews... I could have gotten better Italian food from the frozen food section at Walmart. Customer service was lacking and the garlic knots were stale. Fountain drinks tasted like it was using tap water in the mix. Most food in college towns suck... everything seems generic, probably best to go near an outlet or Austin to get better food.

Fabulous venue. Wonderful waitstaff with amazing food to go along with it. The rolls to begin the meal with were delicious and I guiltily ate almost 10. I had the calzone and upon first looks thought the crust wouldnt be appetizing because it was extremely hard. But the outer shell and innards complemented each other quite well. I will definitely reccomend this place to others as well as come back when I visit San Marcos.

I love this place! Been going here for YEARS! There was a time when there was a terribly mean waitress but I suppose she has graduated and the wait staff has been spectacular ever since. The food is fantastic, my go too meal is the egg plant parm but the chick parm is great as well. Also, their special is often chicken and spinach cannalloni, so fantastic! It is BYOB so stop at the little HEB first!

This was my favorite place to eat when I was a student at TSU. I still have dreams about the Chicken Cremora. Today we made it back to town for the first time in a while and of course went to Italian Garden. The garlic knots they give out are just as I remembered and I loved having my favorite Chicken Cremora again. My hubs got the Veal Cremora and he said it was a bit greasy, but still liked it.

I have eaten at a lot of restaurants in my day. It gets harder and harder to find a really good restaurant with reasonable prices. I usually leave restaurants these days feeling overcharged and thinking I could have made better at home. Italian Garden is the exception and exceptional!!! They serve excellent food at great prices. I will go out of my way to eat here in the future.
