We ate here after a busy day downtown in San Antonio. We had a large party, so we got there early and waited. We were told wed wait about 45 minutes, so after an hour I checked back in. The hostess was nice, and said they were working on setting up our table. Unfortunately, they didnt add enough chairs. Im not sure what they thought, but we were one chair short and awkwardly had to scoot around. Our server was Tono, who greeted us quickly but didnt offer appetizers. Kids were starving, so I would have liked to order some, but he jumped right into it with Got you guys waters. What else do you want? He was abrupt and quick and clearly distracted. When the meal came, the kids plates were SCALDING hot. Why do servers insist on bringing a small child a plate that is too hot to touch? Its incredibly upsetting to have to pull food away from a hungry child because Im overly concerned with their ability to even touch the plate. Tono did not once check back on us after the food was delivered. We had no waters or drinks for the rest of the meals. After we finished, he cleared our plates and we then waited 20 minutes for our checks - 20 minutes! I wish I was kidding, but we saw him walk past our table multiple times without even so much as a glance our way. It got so bad our table next to us even asked how long are you supposed to wait before its acceptable to dine and dash? to which we joked there has been no dashing!! We could army crawl out of here! Even after all of that, and flagging down two other servers who insisted theyd get him right over, our tickets were split incorrectly and we were charged 20% gratuity!! I have zero problems tipping, and tipping well, but for service of that nature I felt like I should be able to give him a lower tip. Also, nowhere on their menus does it state thered be auto-gratuity. I expected it, but not 20%. Food was decent, but not for the price. Service ultimately soured our experience overall and I highly doubt we ever return.

We went for dinner on a Saturday night around 6:30pm since we didnt care if we sat outside by the river walk they were able to seat us immediately inside. I thought the inside of the restaurant was very nicely decorated and it was nice that you could see into the kitchen and into the pizza oven. Upon sitting down they brought out bruschetta (not a fan of bruschetta so cant really say whether it was any good or not) and quickly took our drink orders. My wife was looking forward to having Chicken Marsala which wasnt on the menu but after asking our waiter said they could make. One thing that really annoyed me was after ordering our waiter asked if want soup or salad, my wife said salad and I said soup. Not until after ordering did it dawn on me that we were probably going to end up paying for that and that it was not included in with our dinners. I should have known better but the way our waiter asked they question led me to believe that it was included otherwise I would have passed on the minestrone soup that I ordered and was not impressed with. The food itself was pretty good, it was nothing amazing and my chicken was kinda tough but my wife liked her Chicken Marsala. We did order dessert and the cheesecake was very good. Our total after tip was $80 which isnt horrible but for what we paid I wasnt overly impressed with the food. If I were to go back I would probably get a pizza or a simple pasta dish which both looked to be more reasonably priced.

My family and I held a rehearsal dinner here for 30 family members tonight, and I have to say the entire experience was 5-star! The initial table didnt have enough seats, and the wait staff quickly added the additional seating for us - while taking drink and appetizer orders. Our waiter was Toni and he did a fantastic job of coordinating and orchestrating our entire experience. The decor was absolutely beautiful -- the food was served quickly, warm, and fresh and was just superb. We seldom had to wait more than a few minutes for anything; the entire wait staff was highly attentive and friendly. Toni took great panoramic shots of the entire table at the end for us! All service was provided with smiles, and great personalities! I highly recommend Lucianos for all large party needs, or for dropping in for dinner! I will also add that while we had a party of 30 -- and while our service was exceptional -- and while the food was to die for, the rest of the restaurant was fully packed! Highly recommend and will absolutely visit again!

Attempted to go to another Italian restaurant in the are first, but the wait was so long for a party of 10. We were able to find a reservation for a party of 10 on a Friday night on Open Table hours prior to arriving. When we arrived we realized why there was availability. There was hardly anyone there for being a Friday night and being located on the River Walk. The did however, have our table set up and ready to go. Our orders for drinks and food were taken pretty fast. We had bread brought ot the table and it was hot and fresh. The food arrived not long after. It was pretty bland and watery. The best thing was actually the kids pizza. The penne alla vodka was pretty watery and bland. I added chicken to my dish and it was just grilled and bland and tossed on top of my pasta. It was sort of dry as well. I felt everything needed more seasoning. The service was good though, our server was nice and attentive. The pricing was okay for being on the River Walk. I wouldnt particularly recommend nor return to this place.

I have no idea how this restaurant has 4stars. I guess anybody can have a big rating just as long as your next to the riverwalk. My husband was so mad and disappointed as well. He got a 14$ personal Pizza with hardly any ingredients. The sauce and cheese didnt cover the bread of each slice and the shrimp was one per slice. I order a ravioli pasta for my child and a lobster ravioli for my self. Honestly all the food was disappointing. Its can bought quality. The only thing good was the crab appetizer. So we spend 66$ plus tip for something I could of bought at a grocery store and a frozen pizza is better than what they serve here. Its so sad this place is not even that luxurious either. I been to better places. I dont mind paying for good service quality and luxury but this place doesnt have any of that. I do not recommend this place to anyone. If you want Pizza go to the food court or Pizza Hut if you want pasta go to olive garden. From paying food at this location and microwave food I vote microwave.

Weve just arrived at the riverwalk and were exhausted. We ended up here simply because it was the closest restaurant that looked good. I was very pleasantly surprised. I had the Penne Rustiche which was fabulous the sauce was spicy and creamy made mostly from sun dried tomatoes. Great, many layers of flavor with a bit of spice to make it interesting. My girlfriend had lighter dish consisting of a flounder fillet with an olive grape tomato sauce. Very tasty as well. I highly recommend this place, the only caveat I have was the service although friendly and helpful was very slow. This worked out pretty well for the riverwalk since youre kinda there to absorb the scene.
