My wife and I ate at Verona following our private wedding ceremony. For my entree, I ordered the "special" which was an arugula steak (filet) salad. My steak was very unimpressive and bland. The arugula salad just basically arugula with a dressing that was difficult to taste. I didnt notice other ingredients/topping if they were there. I expressed to our young server that was steak was very bland; I asked if they had horseradish, spicy mustard, steak sauce, ect. He answered no and offered instead a chipotle mayonnaise. We had tried that sauce with the fried oyster appetizer and it had very little zest as well, so I declined. I ate off my wifes dish, which was a shrimp pasta (that was decent) while trying to figure out what to do with this steak. I thought maybe garlic butter might help, so I requested that. While waiting for garlic butter, another young lady asked how everything was and I stated, again, "my steak is unimpressive and bland." She did not respond verbally or with any action to resolve the problem. She gave a nonverbal look that seemed to say, "oh." I decided to give up on my dish and do something creative with it at home; when the garlic butter came out, I requested our food be wrapped up. Our server asked if he could wrap up the garlic butter for us and I politely declined. I was appalled to see we were charged $1.50 for that useless garlic butter when the bill came...really?!!! In summary, the staff is very young and inexperienced and perhaps management hasnt trained/directed them that customer service is a priority. We were the only table in the restaurant at the time, and still no one with the authority or the desire to make things right approached our table to make our dining experience pleasurable. The food sampled ranged from mediocre to bland. Also, the (red) wine temperature seemed very warm. :( On a side note, when my wife and I were being seated we mentioned we had just gotten married and not one staff member acknowledged that or offered congratulations. That would have been a nice gesture. I do not recommend this restaurant; spend your hard earned money and time elsewhere.

We tried out Verona on its third night of operation. You might expect it would take time for them to be "up and running." To our delight, everything was exceptional. It is quiet, attractive, reasonable, and most of all, really good. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. The owner is also the chef and he gladly answered all our questions. You are served fresh bread and a saucer of lovely flavored olive oil. I had grilled salmon; my husband had the salmon with dill sauce. Both were wonderful. Entres come with mixed vegetables and a side order of spaghetti pomodoro. The vegetables are fresh and tasty - not the typical frozen pap that is so common. Spaghetti was perfectly cooked and sauce was fresh and tasty. Dinner was perfect. What more can I say?

I was excited to see a new Italian restaurant in Oak Hill, but a little disappointed to see it replaced Satellite Cafe. Nonetheless, the disappointment lasted all of five seconds when we walked into Verona. This place is awesome, love the decor, I feel like Im in a tucked away Italian cafe... We decided to ask the waiter for recommendations. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana, while my wife ordered the Cannelloni Rustica. Both dishes were awesome. Were definitely going back. After they get their beer and wine license, I hope they go for a full bar, and add a killer Italian margarita to the mix!

Verona is definitely a hidden gem. Its tucked away in the corner of a strip mall and my wife and I only found it by chance. We went for dinner and were really impressed. The restaurant has very nice Italian themed decor, including Italian music playing in the background. The waitress was extremely nice and helpful. We got a free wine tasting and half prices appetizer since we went during happy hour, which was great. The food was excellent. For dessert, the homemade tiramisu is a must try - its amazing!

My birthday was yesterday and my husband found this little place for dinner. When we drove up, I was thinking, "you are kidding", because it was in a strip center. When we walked in it turned into a Bistro. The food was amazing, the service was perfect and it was priced reasonably. We talked about not telling too many people because it would get packed. I want this to be around for a very long time so here you go. I have told several people today about it. Amazing!

I called and asked for suggestions for take-out for 30. I was given a very large list of choices at a reasonable price. I opted for 5 or 6 entrees, several appetizers, and some side dishes. Everyone at the party raved about the food. Luckily, I had a few menus and business cards and they all got scooped up. Everyone was talking about how delicious the food was and were excited to go find the restaurant. The party was a hit and the food was delicious.

I was pleasantly surprised when entering this restaurant. There was a comfortable , romantic atmospere to it. Not your typical chain restaurant chatter! Italian music playing in the background, lights were dim and soft, thete was a kind of mysterious feeling in there. People were conversing in a silent but pleasant tone. Needless to say the food and the service was8 outstanding!

Outstanding restaurant with and extensive and diverse menue. Seafood to veal and of course pasta. Cheryl gave us excellent service. Very attentive but not smothering. Worth every dollar. We wished we lived closer. We would frequent this fine well furnished but homey atmosphere with a extensive wine selections. Cant say enough good things.

Very long wait for a table. Food is very bland and not authentic Italian. My spaghetti meal was served luke-warm. The bruschetta was a soggy sub loaf cut in half, covered in cheese - not proper bruschetta. Server was miserable and didnt smile once. I doubt Ill be going back. Not a great experience. Only nice thing was the sangria.

Great eggplant parmesan! Two giant, 2 inch thick, pieces of eggplant lightly breaded and perfectly cooked with an incredible sauce. Love! Skip the Caesar salad ...dressing tastes straight out of a bottle and salad served in a cheap wooden bowl. Standard, find-anywhere bread served with bland olive oil. Nice staff though.

We drove down from Dallas to visit some friends in Lakeway and decided to get some takeout from Verona. The food was amazing, even eating it over an hour after we picked it up. The food had a very authentic, homemade feel. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great Italian food in the Austin area.
