We like to eat local when traveling and the Gyro meat, dolmades and pitas were very good, but the hummus was swimming in garlic and tzatziki was tasteless. Only thing Greek about the salad was the dry feta cheese and when we asked for dressing, because it was dry, she started to add it to our bill. We declined to pay the $0.50 for what we discovered was oil with some herbs at the bottom. Some reviewer called this place unassuming which is an understatement, this place is a dingy mess. Nothing has probably changed in 30 years. They keep cost down by using Flimsy Styrofoam plates and flimsy plastic utensils plus cheapest napkins they could find. We were came in 5min after they opened for lunch and were the only table for 90mins but the lady would not walk the 6ft to our table to take our order, I suppose because they call themselves a walk up. Then when we ask for the bill she told us we could get up and pay. Asking to split the bill in thirds just about freaked the girl out.

Have been coming to Kostas for many years. When they changed owners, and egg rolls appeared on the menu, my wife and I were pretty scared. But the food is as good as it has always been. They now dont close for 2 hours in the middle of the day which is nice. Food is always consistent. Their tzatziki sauce is thick and very garlic-y. When you leave you can taste the garlic for a couple of hours, that is how you know you had good Greek food. We have been to papoulis which was more expensive, had to wait in line, and did not have as much food. Most importantly was not as good. Have been to dimi and Ninas, been to john the Greek, which was decent, but still not as good as kostas. It IS a rinky dink hole in the wall, and that is how I like it. Down and dirty Greek food that is cheap and delicious. Staff is always friendly. I always being new friends that claim they have had great Greek food, and every time they have agreed that kostas is better. @};-

Gyro lunch special is $6.99 not too bad considering the size of it, and that it comes with a salad or fries, and a drink. Meat tasted just fine and there was lots of it!.I usually only get greek food form another place where everything is put in the gyro. So you have to request for this place to put in lettuce, cheese, and olives if you want it for only 50¢ more. Still not bad!! It really is a hole-in-the-wall, but it has friendly staff and great food. SIDE NOTE: I wish it was in a nicer neighborhood where people respected other peoples property. The parking lot is too crowded and tight, so be careful where you park your car. I was only there for 10 minutes and some a-holes dinged my car, one on each side, which I left plenty of space for others to get out of their car. Please be courteous of others property and if you do need your car door open all the way open it slowly and not so violently.

Ordered chicken souvlaki plate with home fries and a salad to dine in. Took 15 minutes for the wrong order to come out in a to go bag. Another 10 minutes pass before i get the salad...it was good. Another 10 minutes pass before i get my plate of food. 2 chicken skewers, some generic store bought pita bread, some generic store bought frozen krinkle cut fries...still trying to figure out how they have the balls to charge $8.99 for this. Went to the serve yourself fridge for condiments, since they werent offered to me, to find hot sauce which i am pretty sure is "Franks Red Hot" hot wing sauce. In a city with some fairly outstanding greek and middle eastern food i am surprised at the good reviews, i am shocked they are still in business and I will never be back here.

Very delicious!!!Its definitely worth it. Prices are reasonable. The pita bread in the gyro is hot and freshly made when you order:) For those of you who dont want to pay $.50cents for dressing or etc.. Please take your negativity elsewhere. Im so tired of folks trying to complain about everything. Clearly this is a mom and pops and I have spilt my bill before. They are trying their best and Im tired of difficult customers! Take your two cents with you and now you only have to deposit your 48 pennies of negativity elsewhere!! Good Riddance !!! Great food guys!

Been here countless times over the years. Incredible and authentic food. I was just in Greece a while ago, and these gyros are definitely top notch even compared to ones in Greece. I cannot tell you how many places claim to have authentic gyros and disappoint me. This place doesnt try to convince you of anything, they know their food is good. The owner is very personable and will even sit down and get to know you if its not a busy time. Pretty unassuming place thats hidden away, but totally worth it. And yes, the fries are that good. You wont be disappointed.

Where to start... The gyro was small and had a spot of mold on the bread. The meat did not taste fresh at all and the fries were frozen out of a bag. Also some guy was using a power drill the entire time I was there making an effort to fix something. I was the only customer so you would have thought he could have waited. Not a clean place and the parking lot is a nightmare. Just not a positive dining experience at all, definitely will not be back... there are many better places in the area.

Our experience summarized: 1) The place is very dirty and dark. 2) They served us on paper plates. 3) You have to get up and get sodas from the fridge yourself. And you are limited to one soda, so no refills. I could do that at home. 4) The food lacked flavor and the meat didnt look good 5) The food made us sick. And we have iron stomachs. I have no idea how these good reviews got here. Greek food is varied and full of flavor, and this place made me a little sad.

Great hole in the wall eatery! Fantastic food. Fresh ingredients. Good size portions. Cheerful, courteous service. Decent price. If you are looking for a great gyro, this is the place! This is no fancy restaurant. This is about as basic as it gets for a sandwich shop. A little dysfunctional, but the food and polite service more than make up for the hole in the wall atmosphere.

It really is a hole in the wall. Its hard to spot, but its been around a while. I wonder if it is owned by Kostas who used to work at Yassou across the street many years ago. Anyhow, the food is good....not in the least bit pretentious. For Greek in SA its inexpensive and they usually have good people working there. Very popular with the local crowd.

Excellent gyros in a quaint, unassuming strip center. Parking is difficult because of of the Mexican restaurant next door but its worth walking, Ive parked at the Uhaul across the street before. Not fast by any means but so good. They have plates available but I always get the gyros. Wife has gotten salads before and enjoyed them.
