To all our customers. I am the owner of Hong Kong Island Restaurant. We take pride of making our food fresh daily. Nothing left over night . We recently saw a review from a name call R S. Saying they came in at 8 pm to order lo mein and got sick eating it .First of all we NEVER have lo mein on our menu and we always closed around 7:30 to clean. We check our ticket nothing match the order. I guess they either order from another restaurant and reviews on us by mistake or making up story. We just want to straighten thing up. We really appreciate it if you like our food . Not everyone going to like my cooking because everyone have different taste bud. We just cant stay being Accused for something we didnt do. Thank You

My favorite Chinese restaurant in San Antonio. The owners are friendly, service is fast, foods made to order (rather than being reheated or sitting around in a warmer), the place is very clean, and everythings reasonably priced. The fried rice is the best Ive ever had. Seriously, try the fried rice. Its fantastic, the one I use as the standard when Im having the same dish elsewhere, and none of the others measure up. Everything else Ive tried is also good. Never had anything but positive experiences at Hong Kong Island, and I recommend it to everyone who mentions anything about going out for Chinese food.

Dude. This place is awesome. Everything is super fresh, unlike Chinese food at a mall. The fried rice here is amazing. I dont usually eat fried rice, but these guys got it so right. Its small and is run by a husband and wife which is awesome. It really feels like they can take care of their customers. I take my girlfriend here all the time and shes loves it too. And the food, MY GOD THE FOOD! Its so GOOD! The portions are amazing for the price. I honestly say everyone who likes eating Chinese food needs to eat here.

We had heard such great things on the next door app about this place and decided to try it out. We ordered beef lo me in, lemon chicken, sweet n sour chicken, spring rolls and order of rangoon for 3 of us. The food had absolutely no taste to it. The rangoon we smaller than a half dollar coin, the rice was bland. We are about 8p here. By 3am my husband and i were throwing it all up. I do believe we got food poisoning from here. Will never come back. Absolute worst tasting food

Mom & pop place, tucked away where you gotta look for it. Very clean and decorated with the owners familys panaoromic photos of Hong Kong. Panko-crusted boiled eggs are a good surprise, a turn on Scotch eggs. Kung-Pao chicken and accompanying fried rice didnt need soy sauce...spiced and flavored tastefully. Very friendly staff, very conversant and inviting. I definitely need to try the dessert the next time (fried banana with ice cream).

Rice is absolutely amazing. This was just the rice the meal came with, not one that has meat in it. Cant wait to go back and try something else. I had the lemon chicken and the sauce is a great balance of sweetness to the sour lemon flavor and its a great gel consistency thats so much better than watery lemon sauce you get at some places. My husband had, I think, General Chicken and he too loved it. We will most definitely be returning.

Called to try to speak to a manager to do some business with them and was hung up on not once but twice... very poor customer service the rude individual on the phone said we do not give out the name of the manager because we do not know you... you know none of your customer until they come in and if they are wanting to plan events at your location and you treat them this rudely they will take business else where

Best chinese food you will ever eat. everything is super fresh. I work next door to Hong Kong island and have tried almost everything on the menu and I have never been disappointed ever. And the spring rolls are so fresh and delicious. With the best fried rice ever. eat here and you will be hooked if you like Chinese food. There prices are also lower than other chinese restaurants as well.

I wanted to like this place soooo bad! For one the reviews were so good that I had expectations that it would be really good. I must say the owners are really nice despite me not liking the food. Everyone taste buds are different. There was not enough flavor for me and the portion size was not enough with the cost. Also rice was not fried but white. Hope this helps someone.

Fried rice was white rice, with onions in it for some reason. General chicken came with the sauce on the side in its own container. The sauce itself was unique and spicy. The chicken was deep fried in something yellow, looked gross, tasted kind of like chicken, but the batter ruined the chicken somehow. Worst chinese in the area. Downvote downvote downvote.

Ive been here a couple times and I am always impressed. The food is deliciously prepared and there are a variety of options. There are more Americanized dishes as well as authentic ones. I just finished chicken wings with black bean sauce. Simply amazing. The service is also top quality and they are very sweet. I will continue to come here again and again!

The place was a little hard to find as they are in the back corner of their complex. The dining room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Food was cooked to order even at the end of the night and very good. They also have the best fried rice I have ever eaten, if your in the mood for some good chinese food check this place out

The dumplings werent very flavorful & were too crispy. You could barely taste the "orange" in the orange chicken, and it wasnt very flavorful. They ran out of fried rice, so we had to get steamed rice, which was too sweet. The chow mein tasted peanutty for some reason and was barely flavorful. Weve had much better Chinese food.

The wonton soup was not brothy but starch creamy. Everything is fried except the fried rice. Everything lacked flavor. The dumpling sauce was sweet and sour red sauce. Worst Chinese food Ive had in San Antonio. I should open my own restaurant. I couldve done better. Wish I didnt have to give a star.

Fantastic food. Not your typical "Chinese" food and the owner is proud of that. It is Hong Kong style. The Golden Rangoon was great as well as the sweet and sour sauce it came with. Stop by and give them a try. The entire family really enjoyed the food and the service.

Some of the best Chinese food in SA. Its hidden from the street but its worth it. Chase and Shirley are friendly and know what theyre doing. Generous portions, fresh ingredients, and welcoming staff make this a place I come back to SA for.

Most friendliest workers! (: The shrimp fried rice was GOOD! Kind of expensive compared to other lunch specials elsewhere. I do have to say you can actually hear the guy making the dishes.. Kinda cool! Food was fresh!!

BEST authentic Chinese food in town. Chase and his wife are very friendly, hard working and have a great restaurant here. Extremely clean kitchen and dining area. The only place in town we get chinese from anymore.
