We tried this place last week and didnt like it. For starters, its hard to find. If you are expecting to see a sign that says Osaka, youll never find it. There is a big sign that says Sushi and Teppanyaki - but we didnt know it was the right place until we pulled in by process of elimination (i.e. there were no other sushi places around). We sat down, there were 4 of us, in a table, avoiding the habachi thing. The waiter was quick with the drinks and quick to take our order, sort of. My husband ordered an item that the waiter wasnt sure if they were out of. So we asked that he find out and if they didnt have it, well pick something else. Several minutes later, our soup arrived. Several minutes after that, our friends sushi rolls arrived. 20 minutes after that, my husband got one of his 2 rolls. 10 minutes after that I got mine. Our friends had long since finished their meal before I even got mine. And the dish the waiter said he would check to see if they still had some? We had to ask him again if they had it - this was after we had all eaten. He told us no, they were out. Hello? We actually had to ask? Shouldnt that be the first thing you came back to tell us? That is really inexcusable especially since the place was pretty empty. As for the food itself, it was ok. Ive definitely had a lot better. And I was really bothered by the fact that they serve an endangered species on their menu (blue fin tuna). Thats not cool in my book. So bottom line, I wouldnt recommend this place. I did give it 2 stars though because the food itself was decent enough.

Called a day before to make a reservation for Valentines Day and to make sure they werent booked. Was told it was no issue and was put down for 8. Arrived a few mins before 8 to a packed house and about 15 people waiting to be seated which wasnt a surprise given what day it is. We stood at the front for 15 mins before someone finally came over to grab a group to seat and I told him I made a reservation the day before for 8pm. The gentleman that was working said hes currently sitting 8pms so I asked if we were next and he looked at his list and said there were 5 groups ahead of us and we were looking at a minimum of a 45 min wait. Complete horse crap. What ended up happening, by the looks of it, was they took any and every reservation or walk in possible and didnt give a crap if it screwed someone out of their Valentine dinner or not. I had to take my date elsewhere after talking about how good this place was and went through the hassle of setting up a reservation in attempt to freaking avoid what ended up happening. What sucks is the food is actually really good but they apparently dont care about their customers or making potential customers angry.

I arrived here on a GroupOn deal and wish I hadnt. Its a very quiet sushi house in the middle of a retail strip next to an intersection under construction. The decor is marred by a massive scrolling LED message trying to remind everyone that its happy hour while the music doesnt fit at all. We almost walked out before sitting down but continued anyway, ordering 3 special rolls for $28 - the first tasted a little funky, the second was battered unpleasantly, and the third was okay. All the food generally tasted too spicy with too much wasabi everywhere. The wine pours are very mean for the price (maybe a 4 oz pour of Kendall Jackson chardonnay for $7.50). The service is all over the place - you get a different person constantly so theres no real flow to the meal. I hate to say bad things about local businesses but there are really better options around for sushi - including the $30 GroupOn, it was still $54 with tip for a meal that my wife wouldnt eat and I didnt feel so good afterwards for eating. I could honestly get better sushi at Whole Foods down the road.

I love, love, love Hon Machi! Of all the places Ive ever had hibachi, this place absolutely hits the bullseye. Their prices are fair, and the quality of the food itself is exceptional. Have had a variety of different items- teppanyaki steak/chicken/shrimp/fish, bento boxes, sushi, yakisoba, tempura veggies- and been very pleased with all of them. As an added bonus, every time weve had an odd request (no avocado, extra sauce, extra egg in the fried rice, teriyaki on the teppanyaki chicken..) theyre more than willing to oblige- with little or no extra cost to us in the end. The waitstaff is extremely professional and friendly, weve never been left waiting long- even when the hibachi table isnt full, theyve started on our meal once the chef had prepared everything. Drink refills come quickly, and weve never had to sit around waiting on the check. Also, the salad and soup that come with the teppanyaki meals are really the best Ive ever had!

I just went here for lunch and I give it 2 stars due to the horrible service and ok food. I found this place online and saw they had plenty of lunch options. So, I thought this would be a great place to try for lunch but I was wrong. They must not be used to a lunch crowd at all. It took a total of 30 minutes for our food to come out from the time we ordered. I dont think they realize that people on lunch break during the week are not looking to sit for an hour. I ordered the Sesame Chicken Lunch Bento Box. The Sesame Chicken is heavily breaded and it wasnt what you get at a usual Chinese restaurant. I thought the fact that you get sushi with your meal is a nice touch and the portions were good. Besides that there was nothing positive. Also, you should change your background music. It was horrible elevator music and sitting there for over 30 minutes made me want to go to sleep.

I unknowingly walked in about 15mins before they actually opened. The waitress never showed a sign of annoyance and asked me to sit anywhere Id like. Food was great!! Chicken teriyaki is sweet, hot, and delicious. First time Ive eaten everything off the plate. (I usually pick off unwanted veggies and other unknowns). The only cause for caution is the pricing. Be aware that fried rice is about $2 extra so it can add up pretty quick. It says it in the menu but the staff will ask if you want it with out making sure you know it costs extra. I paid with a twenty - including tip - and that was for a single menu dish and cup for water. Otherwise the food was great and timely, staff was polite, and music/atmosphere was appealing.

You dont know bad sushi until youve had it. I want to start off by saying that the place looks really nice inside and it seems to be the popular spot for lunch at 8$ lunch special but you get weve you pay for in here. I have a question... How do you mess up miso soup? Well it happened. Sushi rice is soggy, the presentation looks like something out of a sushi buffet. Who are these people rating this spot before me? Not sushi connoisseurs like myself. Go next door to kumori and spend a little more for a lot more flavor... Oh I have to go.. Im two bites into my sushi and the check is already here... maybe they can smell that Im talking smack about them online.
